19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power (dunamis) toward us who believe...

...23Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

--Eph 1

Ephesians 5:30
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

6And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

8And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

9And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

10Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

--Daniel 12

39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

--Heb 11

Hebrews 2:10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

"perfect"

G5048
τελειόω
teleioō
tel-i-o'-o
From G5046; to complete, that is, (literally) accomplish, or (figuratively) consummate (in character): - consecrate, finish, fulfil, (make) perfect.

11For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

--Heb 2

Col 2:18-19  let no one beguile you of your prize, delighting in humble-mindedness and in worship of the messengers, intruding into the things he hath not seen, being vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh, and not holding the head, from which all the body--through the joints and bands gathering supply, and being knit together--may increase with the increase of God.(YLT)(grow according to God's design NEB)

Rom 12:1-5  Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,  so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

The acceptable sacrifice is consumed with fire from heaven. Elijah proved what is the good and acceptable and perfect(mature, finished complete) will of God before the priests of Baal by fire, as did the 120 in the upper room at Pentecost. If the sacrifice is not consumed, it is because the offering is unacceptable(most likely mixture, like arrogance, legalism, self-interest, self-glory, control- carnality) because it is the Fathers good pleasure to give us the kingdom, and He earnestly desires the spirit He has made to dwell in us.

The sacrifices of God are a broken and a contrite heart.

Luk 3:16  John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Act 4:29-35  "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,  while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."   And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.  And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.  And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.   For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.

They proved the good and acceptable and perfect(mature, complete, finished) will of God in the power of the Holy Spirit and fire

Rev 8:4-5  And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel's hand.  Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

Rev 4:4-5  Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God;

Psa 132:8-9  Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy.

Col 3:1-4  Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Joe 2:12-17  "Yet even now," declares the LORD, "Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning; And rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil. Who knows whether He will not turn and relent And leave a blessing behind Him, Even a grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God?
Blow a trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly, Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom come out of his room And the bride out of her bridal chamber.  Let the priests, the LORD'S ministers, Weep between the porch and the altar, And let them say, "Spare Your people, O LORD, And do not make Your inheritance a reproach, A byword among the nations. Why should they among the peoples say, 'Where is their God?'"

Exodus 19:6
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Deuteronomy 10:9
Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.

Acts 26:18
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Galatians 3:18
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

11Strengthened with all might [dunamis], according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

--Col 1

Deuteronomy 26:18
And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;

Titus 2:14
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Rev 5:5-13  and one of the elders *said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals."

And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

And they *sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. "You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth."

Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."

And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."

"And I perceived on the right hand of Him Who is sitting on the throne a scroll, written in front and on the back, and sealed up with seven seals." (Rv 5:1, CLT)

The things He has written within, upon our hearts and minds, that written upon us, known and read of all men, He takes and reads it out loud, bringing forth the new creation.

"And the twenty-four elders who are sitting on their thrones before God fall on their faces and worship God, saying, 'We are thanking Thee, Lord God Almighty, Who art and Who wast, for Thou hast taken Thy great power and dost reign. . .'" (Rv 11:16-17, CLT)

It's often said the sweating blood is a disease named: hematidrosis
But there is another possibility.

The red light reflected on His sweat and it looked red as blood.
This happens if the moon is eclipsed (at the darkest hour)

:cloud9: There's another possibility......I asked Him once to give me something for a particular pastor before I went to give him a word I knew he wouldn't like. What He gave me was the reason why He sweat blood. Sweat was an offense in the sanctuary and He WAS/IS the sanctuary. It was a sign for the Jews reading the account after the fact. Blessings...

That doesn't make any sense to me...
About sweat in the sanctuary I simply don't know.
I assume Jesus did sweat quite often during His life. Israel is a hot country.
So all those times it was an offence?
And what is the reason this offence is mentioned?
:dontknow:
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Cardinal

:cloud9: That's the reason the priests couldn't mix wool with linen; wool causes one to sweat which speaks of works. The HG does the works in the sanctuary. Blessings...

Beloved Servant

Moses had to climb the mountain, but Joshua stayed in the Tabernacle.

WhiteWings

I still don't understand.
If it was not allowed:
a] Why did Jesus sweat?
b] Why was it mentioned?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Cardinal

:cloud9: It was mentioned because it was an overt clue to the Jews. A gentile wouldn't catch that. No one I have ever heard in Christiandom has ever preached on this. That was what I had asked for, something the pastor had never heard before so he would KNOW I was sent by the Lord with the message to repent or judgment would follow. I knew he wouldn't want to receive from a woman, and I was trying to spare both of us the agony of what would follow his rejection of the word.

So: sweat was not allowed in the sanctuary, it was an offense, so the law was kept perfectly by the fact He sweat blood, because Christ IS the sanctuary. God was further pointing out that the tabernacle veil that was rent was in a man, a man they crucified. Blessings....

Do you mean Jesus never sweat as in water? But instead sweated blood? Or was this a one time sign that only happened in the garden?

:cloud9: I tend to think it was probably a sign, and therefore a one time event, but if you consider He was acting as a priest in intercession, and a High Priest getting ready to go before the Father by what He was doing in the garden, then as I said, this is why this sign came about, because sweat was an offense and the HG was doing the "works" in deep intercession. Blessings....

There is a rare condition under extreme stress where the capillaries burst and can mix with sweat so a person literally sweats blood.  Death usually follows soon thereafter.  Remember how the angel came to strengthen Him? (cp., Lk 2243)  He might have died before making it to the cross except for that help.

I like the insight into there not being sweat on the priest and the blood moon too.

A point to make about Jesus' fervency in prayer...

There He was:  in a garden in the moonlight.  What beautiful rest is implied by this scene, this place of intimacy with God.  But, it is bigger on the inside.  Those things invisible, those things within, these are the weighty things.  Through these is what slays or makes alive.  Unless we walk on with the Holy Spirit into maturity, ascending into other realms, we are in danger of missing out on all the action in these late hours.  "Do not judge by outward appearances, but judge righteous judgment."  Without this inward way, we can also miss recognizing the true nature of those with whom we have to do.  The deceived see the shell and falsely attribute evil to its contents.

"Let him that is afflicted pray."  This is the primary call for those who would have their priorities realigned.  Unless we appreciate something of the relative value of things we cannot enter in with God.  When we arrive in the Paradise of God, it is to travail for the liberation of that part of all creation for which we are responsible.

Well... that's what I'm saying all the time. A blood moon is a moon turning blood red. It only happens at full moon. A rare lunar eclipse.

YLTActs 2
20 the sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord--the great and illustrious;

The great day of the Lord can be read as the second coming after the rapture. Or something similar.
Resurrection day was also a great day imo.
So blood moon in the garden and darkness during crucifixion.
And when red light shines on sweat it looks.... red.
A lunar eclipse at night is the darkest hour.

Cardinal

:cloud9: There is no rapture as it's being taught, and for another slant on this moon topic......my  :2c:.....the moon is representative of the law, as a lesser glory, which is why all the feasts were tied to the progression and revealing of the moon.

The law is as the bones that the body which is Spirit, comes out of and clothes with His glory, ie. corruption being swallowed up of incorruption. Blood in the natural is made in the marrow of the bones. That is why God told Satan he could not touch Job's bone, ie. because the life of Christ was in the bone, and Satan cannot touch Him unless the Father allows it.

The blood (Spirit of Christ) that was hidden in the bones that the law is, CAME OUT and was seen of all men in the person of Jesus the Christ. He kept the law perfectly in the Spirit, though He appeared to break it. This is why He (speaking as the Spirit) said, "Before Abraham was, I AM."

Jesus said He only spoke what He heard His Father speak, the Father is a SPIRIT, and all seeds bear fruit after their own kind, ie. the Son is a Spirit, encased in flesh that He glorified to show us the way back to the Father is the death, burial and resurrection. The gospel IS, the death, burial and resurrection of CHRIST.

We have known the death (outer court-lowered into the bondage of corruption), the burial (inner court-hid IN Christ), and are awaiting the resurrection (Holy of Holies-Son returns to the Father-hello, sons of God!). Blessings.....
