What did ya do?

Just being silly Kimmie, sorry, shouldn't have interrupted.  I posted my silly post at #1000, joking, but then decided to move mine down under yours so you could have "the honors"...I don't think anything really happens, no button or ribbon (oh, OK, I'll give you this :first:) but hey, it's the first time it's ever happened here as far as I know, so whether you admit it or not, it does make you at least a little special.   OK I'll get out of here and let you guys continue talking about important things.

Ofcourse its Christ in you, first Adam formed from the dust and second Adam formed is formed in us the two become one flesh
But as the woman literally gives birth in the physical (after much tribulation), the soul 'gives birth' to the Christ?

Fire: Interesting CP I'd love to see an orderly serpent

Yo Fire, I am using Adam, Eve and Serpent as indicating one person and you were hungry so you probably missed what I wrote in anticipation of what you wrote...I tried to indicate that when man is fully made in God's image then the serpent will be gone. As a matter of fact I think the serpent only is present when a person is behaving in a soulish way.

cp

I was in anticipation for some soup and wrote cha while I was anticipating some grub  My God was my belly momentarily, I betcha it was my inner serpent

Okay are you saying we have three made one flesh Adam, Eve and the Serpent and Eve will become the mother of the living when Adam our outer man dies and the serpent goes away some day? Is Christ anywhere in this picture or is Christ just the natural result of those three working it out as one?

Yes, I like that.

I am a person. I want to know who I am in relation to God and all men. All the verses quoted are very important but to me they are only helpful as they literally speak to me today in a language I can understand. Otherwise they are just neat verses.

I am a person. By the grace of God I see the Christ (a spiritual essence) in me. I see a soulish, thinking, sensual essence. I still see remnants of the serpent essence in me too. I would be a liar if I said I didn't.

Yes, Fire, I see the serpent gradually decreasing as Jesus Christ increases and it gives me great joy. I believe the serpent will cease to exist at some point when Christ is fully formed in me and in you and in all, when God becomes all in all. I also see my soulish essence slowly aligning itself in a proper way to my spiritual essence and I am living a better life because of it.

You summed it up nicely in your above words.

Now to go look more deeply at all the other good comments here!

This is so helpful to me. The patience of you people is astounding, to put up with the likes of me.

BTW, I do see Jesus Christ and much of Scripture as a literal physical realtity too.

1Co 15:45-49  If there is a soulish body, there is a spiritual also. Thus it is written also, The first man, Adam, "became a living soul: the last Adam a vivifying Spirit."  (46)  But not first the spiritual, but the soulish, thereupon the spiritual."  (47)  The first man was out of the earth, soilish; the second Man is the Lord out of heaven."  (48)  Such as the soilish one is, such are those also who are soilish, and such as the Celestial One, such are those also who are celestials."  (49)  And according as we wear the image of the soilish, we should be wearing the image also of the Celestial."

Two Adams.

Two different origins.

Two different makeups.

Two different destinies for mankind.

Hi Tony,

Great words. You quoted some Scripture that especially speak to my heart.

I think of Scripture where it says to put off the old man and put on the new. I think this is talking to one entity.

Two Adams, I think so too.

Two different origens, I think not. Are you saying people were made from two different sources?

Two different make-ups and destinies, I agree.

Beautiful words Molly and I am hearing. The serpent never could get a firm grip on Jesus the divine, could 'he'?

I see this in 'the chosen' too. The Kingdom of God just keeps no trucking within.

Fire: I dont know which part of "me" (soul or spirit) gives birth to Christ though.

I don't see parts. I don't see 3 seperate entities in me. I see me. I see Jesus. I see the old man. I see the new man. But, Fire, I do understand what you are saying. It's so hard to put into words isn't it? You do very well though IMO.

As to how Christ is birthed in people I think of 2 areas of Scripture that have helped me much.....

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me.... gala1.15

For God so loves the world (people and ....) that He sent........jn3.16

Christ is birthed (revealed) when and where God feels like it and this is accomplished by God sending His Son, which I see as another way of saying He reveals His Son.

This revealing says much to me. It indicates that the Christ is there all the time, just not revealed. While Paul was stealing, killing and destroying, Christ was 'in' him but not revealed. Amazing when I look at my life over the years, absolutely amazing parallel.

2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins

Z, we are growing. I think we will always be growing in some form. It is good to grow from one state of being to another and in the transition we will invariably be in both worlds at the same time until the old totally passes away.

You know I kind of hope the old never passes away in one sense, I hope it passes away in the sense that I learn to deal with it better. Do you understand?
