Because he had to remove us from Him [at the beginning] so that he could return us to Himself later as a new creation.

To make a long story short lol--

If Eve hadn't done what she did, Adam would never have done it--because he was not deceived by satan.  So he 'fell' for her.  And, Jesus comes and reverses the whole thing, retracing Adam's steps at every juncture, unwinding it as it were, to restore us to the garden.

I don't disagree with you there, but Scripture shows God is holding Adam accountable, not Eve.  So how does Adam being a picture of Christ fit with that?  It was not Christ's fault Adam submitted.  Christ didn't die because Adam's fall was his responsibility.

I don't know . . . it's not fitting for me is all.

Not sure what you mean by 'accountable.'  You mean all died in Adam?  By Adam came death?

Adam must have been someone very special.  I could sin all day and all night and my actions would not condemn the whole world to death...

But--

20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Who's that?

Nathan, you wrote

I take something for granted but I don't think it is common opinion. To me Adam and Eve and the serpent are each person. So all this talk about Adam doing this and Eve doing that was confusing to me until I realized that some here are seeing Adam, Eve and the serpent as 3 beings.

Let me see it this fits. God is holding Adam accountable, not Eve. Hmmmmmm. Scripture does say the woman was in the transgression, not the man. The woman will have greater pain in childbirth. So I see Eve is held very accountable. But again, I see only one person being talked about here. I am accountable for what I think and do for the most part, right? Yet even when I say 'I' I really cannot take credit for making myself alive or making me 'spirit', to me, another way of saying alive.

Another example: Eve is the mother of all living. This is still talking about each person yet now Scripture is stressing Eve or, IMO, the soulish essence of a person. How is the soulish part of a person 'the mother of all living'? Hmmmmmmm. Well, people make people and it is a very sensual thing mostly. In Heaven there is neither marriage or ........Maybe this means that it is the sensual nature that is the cause of new birth, both physically and must be spiritually too. I would say God is a sensual Being.

Fire, Molly, anybody, does this help at all to see where I am coming from? Does this make sense?

That's why when it says 'As in Adam all die.......' I see Adam as incorporating Adam, Eve and the serpent. It is because people were created in the beginning like they were that they die. In this first Adam, the roles of Adam, Eve and the serpent were messed up, thus sin.

In Christ, the second Adam, I see Adam and Eve and the serpent yet I see roles being played out perfectly thus the spirtual state as in authority is reborn.

Adam, Eve and the serpent were all there before Eve was taken out of Adam. The taking of Eve out of Adam seems to me to be God's way of showing us how people will act when led initially by his or her soulish or sensual nature. God is showing us how we act when not initially led by Him, Spirit.

Consider the confusion that happened because of what 'Eve' did? Again this was a person, every person, yet people guided by there own lusts primarily. 'She' saw the tree was good for food and pleasant to the eyes and able to make one wise and she ate and gave and on and on and on.

Now consider how perfect things will be because of how Jesus Christ handles the Adam, Eve and serpent!

OK, now I'm going overboard even for me but Nathan has encouragaed me to let it all hang out so here goes again......

Fire you quoted......

That which is FORMED of FIRST ADAM counts for nothing as ITS FLESH.

The TWO which testfy are in that which is "MADE" through CHRIST (LAST ADAM) The WORD made FLESH. ITS IN and THROUGH HIM and the part of HIS SIDE wherein the BLOOD and WATER are found in Jesus Christ. These TWO bear witness TO HIM (as John shows). Its always "two or three witnesses" and the third of which is that of the SPIRIT. The THREE AGREE IN ONE. The Spirit which bears witness is within us who always testifies of Christ.

1John 5:8 And there are three that beareth witness in EARTH, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three AGREE """ IN ONE """.

What I am seeing is this. Blood seems to me to be associated with life or soul. Water,I have noticed in Scripture, seems to be associated with carnality unless it is referred to as Living Water. OK, now we have Christ on the cross. Adam, Eve and the serpent represented in One Man. (As Moses lifted up the serpent on a pole so must..........)

Notice what pours out of Christ as He dies. Blood and water. As a person dies to self (the real serpent) the serpent and soul are dealt death blows. Spirit does not die for it is God, not a product of God's work.

To go further, Adam, Eve and the serpent were on the cross in the form of one Man.

Oh, OH got to go. Librarian is throwing me out!

The 3 agree in one. Adam, Eve and serpent. All in their rightful place.

First Adam is associated with carnality because Adam, Eve and serpent were out of order so to speak. Last Adam is the Savior, restoring order to Adam, Eve and serpent.

Serpent IMO will cease to exist when order is restored in Christ.

My 2 cents.

Fire: Interesting CP I'd love to see an orderly serpent

Yo Fire, I am using Adam, Eve and Serpent as indicating one person and you were hungry so you probably missed what I wrote in anticipation of what you wrote...I tried to indicate that when man is fully made in God's image then the serpent will be gone. As a matter of fact I think the serpent only is present when a person is behaving in a soulish way.

1Co 15:45-49  If there is a soulish body, there is a spiritual also. Thus it is written also, The first man, Adam, "became a living soul: the last Adam a vivifying Spirit."  (46)  But not first the spiritual, but the soulish, thereupon the spiritual."  (47)  The first man was out of the earth, soilish; the second Man is the Lord out of heaven."  (48)  Such as the soilish one is, such are those also who are soilish, and such as the Celestial One, such are those also who are celestials."  (49)  And according as we wear the image of the soilish, we should be wearing the image also of the Celestial."
