Quote from: Tony N on January 12, 2009, 07:49:42 PMTwo different vessels out of the same kneading bro. That's what the whole point is about: Jacob I love (vessel of mercy) yet Esau I hate (vessel of indignation). Moses (vessel of mercy) Pharaoh (vessel of indignation). Believers, or chosen (vessel of mercy) unchosen (vessels of indignation).

Also there are two different types of vessels: vessels of indignation and different vessels of mercy. The vessels of mercy are not the same vessels as that of indignation.

As far as "people" are concerned, the people who are first shown no mercy are the same people who are later shown mercy.

Hosea 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

so Kim,

are you part time "son" and part time "bastard".  When sinning, you must be lacking faith, so then a bastard;

Fireinfolding

No thats not how I see it. I understand that its the Lord that examines us and we are bastards and not sons when we are**without** chastisement which all are partakers. Why should a living man complain when He is punished for his sins? If the good I will "that" I do not but the evil **I hate** that I do, Im in agreement not disagreement with Him.

If on the otherhand I delight in the evil I do and do not hate it how is that being in agreement with Him? The fear of the Lord (which is "the beginning of" wisdom) IS to HATE **evil** and I see that in Paul's struggle. If He said, "the evil I LOVE Im just not allowed to do, what agreement is in that?

Zeek

and when living by faith, the Spirit is in you and you are no longer in the Flesh, so then a son??

Fireinfolding

The law is not of faith, and without the law sin is to be dead and anything not from faith (which worketh by love) is sin. I see a "keeping in step with the Spirit" or walking by the Spirit (an exercise of sorts) a putting to death the deeds of the body through the Spirit. It does speak of our obedience "being fulfilled" in the power (given) to become Sons and go onto perfection. Jesus did say everyone that is perfect will be like their Master and even though I *know* I'm not doesnt cast doubt on His words that that is true. Because the disciples were far from it

Zeek

There is a sin unto death and a sin not unto death.

Joh 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

so if John 5:24 is true, then are we in Adam (death) or are we in Christ (life).

I continue to see relevance to this topic on wheat and tares,

that if u are "in Christ",  you have passed from "tares" into "wheat".  We are a new creation.  I continue to hold that fire that tries your faith is just that, trieng "faith", not trieing for lack of faith.

Fireinfolding

I agree we talked about this before on another forum, it was after Heaven opened when God said "this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased" THEN He was led into the wilderness to be tested not before.

WHAT exactly is there "to test" prior to our faith?   I cant agree more that our faith (not lack of it) is tried... Like its anything in our flesh that can "please God"

Zeek

How can I be a tare or have tares within me, when I have passed from death to life??

Fireinfolding

I dont think I ever said that I sorta stay with whats written so I might have said "sin dwelleth within me" but the power of sin is the law and without the law sin is supposedly dead. It would be the administration of death I see we pass from. From an unable position (without strength) to being made ABLE (through His power or strength) to become Sons.

Even if your a wheat as Peter he was sifted as wheat it was His faith (as little as it was) Christ prayed would not fail but his conversion was still left yet unrealized. Without faith theres no pleasing God because the flesh certainly can please Him.  He is teaching sinners His ways. Just like Enoch

John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

I'm seeing this spiritually speaking as we "pass from" death into life here and now

Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. ("without faith" its imposible to please Him) So he had the testimony before he "passed" (same word as translated) Enoch means "dedicated" (taught of God) shows a prefigure of one who "keeps my saying" in relation to not seeing death pertaining to what Jesus was speaking of. This translation from (death /darkness) is shown elsewhere by John who hath said GOD "hath translated us" from "the power of" darkness and into his marvelous light, even the Kingdom of His dear Son. Not found (being by faith) having not a righteousness by the law (which is NOT of faith) but being FOUND IN HIM. I see them as spiritual truths as we are to compare spiritual with spiritual. The grave Paul speak of is in direction to the law and the victory 1Cr 15:56 we have in Christ (through faith).

God calls things that are not as though they were and "though Christ were a Son" he learned obedience through what He suffered. He was driven by the Spirit into the wilderness and He Come back in the power of the Spirit to preach.

So if tribulation worketh patience (which is a fruit of the Spirit) then tribulation is nessesary for the fruit of it. If self control is a fruit of the Spirit then being tempted in all ways as we are appears an excercise unto righteousness and doing well in it.

Zeek

sincerly wondering, or am i misunderstanding??

Fireinfolding

I dont know, Im just as you a disciple (learner) and I dont consider myself having all the answers (teacher) I sit WITH YOU and share many of the same questions... "What MEANETH He when He saith thus and such"?

I ask all the time, "Am I misunderstanding" but He does teach us I'm just dont pretend I have all the answers, just puzzle pieces

I know this post is not directed to me sis , but it has some awesome truths   in it
who is perfect but the Lord  declares it !

even Noah was  a just man and perfect in his generations [plural]  :mshock:

I wonder if the Lord deterimins this by generations ?
there is alot of fulfillment is  certain generation
a perfect heart , the new one the Lord gives us  maybe  that keeps all His Law ?

Good words IMO.

I too see that the Potter not only made the more pleasurable vessel second, He made it out of the first. First the natural then the spiritual. First the Goliath and then the David. First the Pharoah and then Moses. First the Cain and then the Able. First the Brothers and then Joseph. On and on it goes. Each person is first mortal and then, by Christ, immortal, first corruptable and then, by God, incorruptable. First the inferior wine and then, by Jesus, the best wine.

Tony, I only have to look within my being to see the truth of what I am saying. It matters nothing to me about what happened in 70 AD unless it pertains to my life and yours right now. It matters little to me that God made some vessels out of clay and some He liked and some He didn't unless this is speaking about me and you, not us and them.

I just don't see the Bible as an us and them thing. It is a me thing and a you thing and a every person thing.

I see all people as a tiny part of a much bigger whole and I see each person as a world made up of seemingly infinite things.

God so loves the world (you and me and....) that He sends His Son to save!

I've been enjoying your posts cp.  To add to your point here . . . could we flip this around as well and say that if the things Christ was telling "that" generation about events that would happen 2000 years later, what importance would that have on them back then?  Why the air of urgency and imminence if it wasn't meant for them in the first place?

The flesh profiteth nothing . . . if you told me that 200 years (rather than 2000) from now, Jesus is going to destroy the earth . .seriously . . how would that relate to me?  If Jesus lives in the "Now" why do we embrace things that were intended to be taken literally to them "then"?

The first question I challenge anyone reading this particular post is . . .how old are you spiritually?  This has nothing to do with when you got saved.  But it has everything to do with how mature you are.  Be careful not to fall back on false humility with your answer and see yourself in the infancy of your relationship with Christ.  As he's not looking for a baby bride, but one that is old enough to reproduce.

We're to approach the kingdom as a child, yes, but there is a maturity that transforms you "as" you walk in said kingdom.  And with that maturity comes new or at least different perspectives in how the word is to be digested.  I say all of that to simply say the things Paul wrote was not to mature beleivers . . .most likely, not even to adolescent believers.  They were mostly infants and toddlers.  And the letters written to them were the BASICS of Christianity.

Just as there is a progression to the tabernacle, there is also a progression of maturity in our walk.  It is the spirit that matures as it is the spirit that rightly divides.  In this maturity, it's very difficult for one to grow deeper when one embraces food intended for infants.  So the things written to them was food for where they were then.  They needed things spelled out for them and simple instructions of Christian living explained to them . . . they were just kids.

When I was a child, I spoke and thought as a child . .but what?  But when I became I man, I still embraced the same things that nurtured me as a child?  No, I "put away" childish things.  So what was given to them, was meant for them, otherwise . . .what's the point?  They had a hard enough time trying to digest the things that were for them, how on earth would they expect to glean anything that was supposedly for a generation 2,000 years later?

I am now thinking about what Tony said the other day, about hyper spirituality.

He meant it in a derogatory sense but that got me thinking. Who is more 'hyper' spiritual than God or Jesus for that matter? Jesus worships His Father who IS spirit. Jesus said His words are spirit. Our Holy Guide is Spirit.

Looking at all this I can only believe the path to God is a spiritual one. I also conclude that all physical events must be God's way of telling us some spiritual truth. All of Scripture must be teaching us of spiritual realities.

I think, to anthropomorphize (God I love that word. I think it's the first time I used it!) anyway to use human words, I think God is as proud as a peacock over His home which is the world of the spirit. I think He gets goose bumps every time we see through the physical to His real home and meaning. Why we want to take everything so physical literal is beyond me. Don't we want God? If we do then I say go where He lives and He'll invite you in.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, God is far beyond what I can imagine so that's where I am going to find Him, WAY OUT THERE. I trust He will keep me from all the BS that gets slung in His name! ( A little crude there but I think appropriate.)

Zeek wrote...

It is in the passing that you experience the tares. They are even more noticable because of the 'passing' IMO.

Zeek, with God there is no past, present or future as at least I understand those things. You are getting hung up on them. You have passed from death to life in Jesus. You are passing from death to life in Jesus. You will pass from death to life in Jesus. Doesn't matter how you say it, it's the truth!

Zeek, IMO again, you will never lose your uniqueness which means you will be taking your 'clay' experience with you in some spiritual way. You will not take 'sin' with you but you will retain your individuality, that crap that makes you, you; that makes you lovable to those who love you. I had a friend write to me the other day and said he doesn't want to picture me, his friend, sitting on some cloud strumming some instrument. He wants to see ME there and I knew what he meant.

OK, why did I get off on that tangent? God only knows. Better stop.

Nathan, did you write this.....

Literally, even though the body sleeps, the mind never does.  Spiritually, when the mind sleeps, it's disengaged and the ego takes over . .and that is where the tares come from, from within my carnality.  Scripture tells us to take our thoughts captive.  My spirit has been given authority over both my mind and my ego.  Eve would desire after her husband, but he would rule over her . .it's the same language used of God when speaking to Cain.  He states Satan desired after him as well, but that he would rule over him . . .but he didn't.

I just re-read it for the 12th time and I think lightening hit but it could be what I had for lunch too. But here it is, mind you, this thought is not at all developed but I hope you and others can help or tell me I'm out to lunch which only means I'll keep going in my stubborn way but I'll have to go alone, again!

Anyway, here it is......

This flashed through my mind.....GOD put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh. GOD then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man.gen2.21

I'm thinking now. I have always believed we were made less than God's image in the beginning. This was perfectly planned by God. I see this in the fact that the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eye and pride of life was in strong operation in people before eating of the tree........

For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the  pride  of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.1jn2.16

and then notice....

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat...gen3.6

See the lust of the flesh, eyes and pride of life in both? I'm sure you do.

Anyway, God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man and then Eve (soul, ego) came on scene. Adam, representing spirit was caused to sleep! then Eve, soul, dominated then all hell broke loose. When the spirit rises in resurrection power the soul gets put back in proper place.

Again this is fresh off the press so I may be out of line but let me know. You caused this, you gotta help.

I was hoping this would get Kim's attention, I've heard rumors this is a favorite room of hers . .glad to see she's stirring on it.

When God created Adam . . .Eve was in him, that everybody gets.  But when seeing this in the next dimension of things . . .it's like God did some dividing before man began creating (reproducing).  The pattern of Genesis, in the days of creation, God divided . . .and then reunited.  He divided day from night, waters from waters, (verticle) and waters from land (horizontal).  Here's a revelation I didn't realize until JUST NOW.  He began by separating darkness FROM light . . .he "exposed" light.  When light illuminated, it illuminated the two laws of Christ . . .love God (vertical) love neighbor (horizontal)  When these two laws intersect, it forms a cross.

That was a freebie.  Where I was going was, it's like an egg . . . there is the yoke, whites, and shell.  And basically, God separated the three from each other.  He separated Eve from Adam and made two from one, and then brought them back together as one so that they could reproduce another.  And if you pay special attention to the "when" they saw they were naked . .it didn't happen when "she" ate.  When she ate, there was no change.  But when Adam received from Eve and did eat . . .immediately they "knew".

And knowing immediately brought guilt and shame.  In the literal sense, nothing changed.  They were still who they were before, but with this disorder of spirit and soul, knowledge determined reality.  And knowledge invoked fear.  And part of the judgement then was, Eve was separated from the serpent.  The beginning of the emnity.  When I first came into this, I did struggle some with this part because it is clear the soul is connected to the woman and the spirit is connected to the man . .it's the serpent I couldn't immediately place in the puzzle.

I "knew" it's not who we've been taught it to be mainly because if it was the devil that most envision, then God would never have had to place the enmity there, the warring . .no, the serpent was "part" of Eve and God separated the two due to the disorder they initiated.

What's the name of this thread??  . . .natural and spiritual . .oh, good, then this can still be connected to the thread.

There is so much in this room, take your time, you just opened a door and not everything is always clear immediately.  But take note of this voice in you that led you here . .it's the same voice that will do the clarifying in you.  God wants to reveal himself to his bride . . .but she's lost something.  Jesus said he came to seek and to save that which is lost yes???  Well, that's not referring to people, otherwise he would seek "who" is lost.  What got lost is identity.  Adam lost it when he turned to be fed by his soul rather than "be" the one that does the feeding "to" the soul.

If you want to understand Revelation . . the book and the experience, the gate leading there is in Genesis . .because it's our origin.  When we realize who we are, we'll be able to see fully who He is.  We need to go back to the beginning and find where the identity was lost so that we can get it back.  My identity (for me) is my face.  If you have a lost child, what's the first thing people ask?  "What do they look like?"  Have you ever seen anyone bring a picture of their lost loved one and it's a picture of their foot?  Hand?  No, all you need is a head shot . .a picture of their "face".

When Adam brought the disorder of God into his being, it changed his identity.  His identity was no longer the son of God, it became the son of labor.  His identity was the sweat (labor) of his FACE (not brow).

Genesis 3
17And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Oh man, I just saw something in this last verse . .but because this is already going long . . .I'll hold on to it.

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, What is the bread?  It is the Word of God . . .Jesus stated that man (flesh) can not live on bread ( the Word) alone, but on every word "proceeding" out of the mouth of God.  There is a big difference between a written word and a proceeding word.  A Proceeding word is a "fresh" word, an "in this moment" word.  The written word remains where it was when it was originally spoken.  But a proceeding word is one that is with you ALWAYS

till thou return unto the ground; Till you return to the ground . . .man this is huge for me.  He's saying that you will "labor" for your understanding out of the Word UNTIL you RETURN to the GROUND . . .the earth . . .until you DIE TO YOUR FLESH!!!  Stop laboring with your natural reasoning and die unto yourself.  Stop depending on your own confidence in what you think you know.

for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.  Dust is the meat of the serpent.  God created Adam "from" the earth, and afterwards "placed" him in the garden (spirit).  Adam was not created from the spirit, he was created from the earth and "placed" in the spirit.  How can flesh live in the spirit?  Easy . . because Adam is not flesh, he is spirit.  His body is simply a vessel containing that which God BREATHED.  But when Adam introduced disorder, the things established in Adam remained (ability to reproduce) but what was separated was the intimate relationship.

The dust you return to . . is the meat your flesh, your ego consumes.  The more you feed the beast, the hungrier and bigger he gets.  Ever see what happens to the neighborhood dogs when two dogs get into a fight?  You really want to break it up ASAP otherwise every dog around will be in on it.  It's their "natural" instinct.  When the serpent "in me" . .yes . .in me.

Look, if you didn't have any blemishes in you after the Spirit of life comes in, why then would Scripture have to tell you to take captive your thoughts?  If you were that pure, you wouldn't have faithless thoughts that needed capturing.  So I still stand . . .you have both wheat and tares in you.  And the more you concentrait on the natural realm in you, the more it will consume you.  This serpent did just that . . .he shows up again in Revelation, but there, he's not a serpent anymore, he's grown into a full-blown dragon.

Don't dwell in the dust with the earth-dwelling people.  You're only setting yourself up for lunch of your adversary within you.

sigh . .gotta go back to work.

Blessings.

For mine I see the Dark Glass as the Shadow , Not the TRUE reflection of WHO we are ,The reality SHOWS HIS face , not ours , BUT  when SEE The reality , we see( understand) HIS  face ( FACE to Face) ,The Identity we   once lost

2Cr 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ.

2Cr 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

2Cr 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

2Cr 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.

2Cr 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

"proceedeth"

G1607
ἐκπορεύομαι
ekporeuomai
ek-por-yoo'-om-ahee
From G1537 and G4198; to depart, be discharged, proceed, project: - come (forth, out of), depart, go (forth, out), issue, proceed (out of).

God has a 'mouth'?

Oh, my goodness, he's talking about our words, 'ĕlôhîym.  :mshock:

Matthew 15:18
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

The shadow is the Darkness Molly , Tis the Same .

Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ

Hbr 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

The shadow is NOT the Reality of the Light.

The pharisees were led and Trusted In the Shadow or form..tis all the same

Yeah, and the rudder is connected to the boat, the ark--the heart.

I was hoping this would get Kim's attention, I've heard rumors this is a favorite room of hers . .glad to see she's stirring on it.

Hi Nat, yes its my favorite but Jeff doesnt prefer my use of the scriptures, he prefers ones own words so I only posted a few. I'll just watch the reasonings before I get involved, and I just cant follow along as well without them so I'll step out of the way. I might jump back in and respond elsewhere during the course of the chat though

Hi Tony,

This will really blow your mind.

I only see two men in the Bible, Adam and Christ. Everyone I know is or will be somewhere in the process of putting off the old and putting on the new. This is accomplished as Jesus Christ is revealed from Heaven. The destiny of us all is summed up in these 2 men.

God is making man in His image.

CP, I lost my dear beloved puppy today. But you know what? what you wrote above is really nice! Thanks!

Just because God says He will save all mankind
does not necessarily mean He won't.

I'm sorry to hear that...that's sad.
