Quotehope I didn't say that the wheat is called on to repent or the tares in any earlier posts in this thread.
Likewise I never ever stated that the wheat were bearing the wrong kind of fruit for wheat. At least I hope I never did.

My understanding is that the wheat (the sons of the kingdom) are not making snares and the wheat (sons of the kingdom) is not doing lawlessness. The tares (the sons of the wicked one) are making snares and doing lawlessness.
Both the sons of the kingdom and the sons of the wicked one grow together and at the right time Jesus comes back and tells the angels to take all the sons of the wicked one out of the kindgom (not out of people's bodies) and that, at the end of the eon (whether you like it or not).

Who keeps all the Law Tony ? men in the flesh ? works of mens hands ?   ,   the mind of Christ keeps it and those whom are in Christ
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Hbr 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.  a good thrashing is how wheat is  gathered

1) illegitimate, bastard

2) one born, not in lawful wedlock, but of a concubine or female slave

Mat 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

1) a kind of darnel, resembling wheat except the grains are black ,

a bastard wheat

again we go back and forth to  childbearing  and what is HOLY

Again, rosered, it is a moot point you bring up. The sons of the wicked one are the humans who make snares and do lawlessness. Those sons, at the end of the eon will the angels kick out of the kingdom. The sons of the kingdom remain.
The thrashing is not part of the parable. The part of the parable is that the tares cast out of the kingdom by the angels. One can only go so far with a parable. So the thrashing has no part in this parable. Christ didn't bring it up and neither should we.
Also chastening and thrashing are not the same thing.

Sorry.

Dear rosered,
Again it is you who needs your mind opened up to what the Lord is trying to show, not me. I'm blessed just fine, thank you.

Now then, let's stick with the thread rather than praying a prayer for me that makes you look oh so much more spiritual.

You once again have improperly used a verse to try to make your point.
The Matthew 3:13 passage is totally different than the chapter 13 passage of the wheat and the tares.

All wheat has chaff. The 3:13 passage is about making the wheat usable to the Lord by taking away the chaff which protects the grain while it is growing.
The passage concerning the wheat and the tares has the tares being taken away. The tares are not part of the wheat grain.
Do you understand this?

There is no threashing going on in the Matthew 13 passage.
The important point of the Matt.13 passage is that the sons of the wicked one are going to be taken out of the kingdom at the end of the eon. They will be kicked out by the angels.

Just because God says He will save all mankind

:icon_flower:

The important point I was making was that Bob was saying that "sons of the kingdom" can't be people because a kingdom can't beget people. And "sons of the wicked one" can't be people because a wicked one can't produce offspring.
And so I showed that Paul told the Thessalonians in 1 Thess. 5:5 that they were sons of the day and sons of the light. Of course literally light cannot produce literal sons and the day cannot literally produce literal sons. Nonetheless the Thessalonians were sons of the day and light just as the Jews were either sons of the kingdom or sons of the wicked one.

So it is going off on a rabbit trail to try to get the ole hound to go sniffing after other things rather than what the thread is about, if you get my drift.
Just because God says He will save all mankind

Hi everybody,

Do you think we are sons of the kingdom?

It seems we are called sons of God and I don't know anywhere where we are referred to as a son of the kingdom.  I say all of this in light of being part of the new creation that knows the ascended Christ, no longer Christ after the flesh that has to do with Israel and her promised kingdom.  I hope you go easy on me as I am new to the forum.

Sherry, I can't believe you asked that question.....Just kidding.   :icon_jokercolor:

Actually, I like that question, and you've tapped into something I've been wondering about.. and Fire, your answer really makes me wonder more...hmmmm....maybe we are happy to not be children of the kingdom then...maybe that's the Jews (disobedient) after the flesh?

If you Natural and Spiritual people don't want to pursue it here, maybe we can discuss it further on another thread?...or maybe it ties in here OK...believe it or not, I haven't read every post on this thread, so it may have a history of wandering a bit...anyhoo, good Q Sherry!

you only see humans as humans correct?
wheat is threshed  thats a fact  of wheat    of which we are compared to

and Matthew  13   has wheat   used as a simile, a figure of speech    for learning purposes  in which two unlike things are explicitly compared  like humans  as wheat

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mat 16:20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

what do you think that means ?  to loose on earth and heaven
or bind on earth and heaven ?

Too often people have reduced it to speaking words while they're exercised in prayer.  That will move mountains if you doubt not in your heart; but, so much is happening daily by what we do or do not do and we may not be all that aware of it.  When you live holy before the Lord, your very presence is a rebuke to this wicked and perverse generation.  What you stand for in so many ways is like salt that preserves the culture from quick rot.

Humankind is meant to be God's wife.  When men in the church who are betrothed as a chaste virgin unto one, even Christ; that is, they are to joined directly to the Lord, but they have intimate relations instead with a religious system, tradition's doctrine or mere ritual practice, or are even more directly subservient to other men in those things in which they are to be faithful to God alone, it releases in the earthly realm those carnal perversions of men with men.  Trace it out and you will see this is true.

O.K. Bobf, I will go through your posts and find it for you.

MacPherson, I agree wholeheartedly with you in that the hyper-spiritual attemp at understanding the parable of the wheat and tares does turn into a maze with no exit.

If you meant it as a slam on what I have been writing, then, please, desist from further puerile statements and keep to the topic at hand.  :HeartThrob:

I believe that my understanding of that parable is the most logical and which does have an entrance and exit to it.

To the one who wrote about Peter being sifted by Satan as wheat: Again, that is not part of the parable of the wheat and tares. We need to keep to the topic. In the parable the angels do not do any sifting, they kick out of the kingdom all who make snares and do lawlessness.

Does this make sense to you?

Ok, let me explain it another way that might alleviate that contradiction.  The seed of the adversary is not our physical flesh.

We know that Jesus does not directly sow (put) little good-godly people (wheat seed) into the physical world and Satan does not put little evil-wicked people (tare seed) into the physical world.  That's basically the serpent-seed doctrine.

Rather:
Jesus sows His Seed which are His Words of Truth into the minds & hearts of people.
Satan sows his seed which are his lies & deception into the minds & hearts of people.

Each seed when "listened to" forms a spirit or nature within us.
Each spirit is the offspring or child produced by each seed.
They are opposing spirits.

Both seeds are allowed to grow and mature.
God does not just "kick out" are person's carnal, lustful, selfish nature the minute it forms.

At the "end of the aion" (whenever that is) the spirit of the wicked one is removed & destroyed.

Since, according to you the seed Jesus planted was not actual people but a "His words of truth"
And since, according to you the seed Satan planted was not actual people but "lies and deception"
I can say for a fact that you believe the "sons of the kingdom" are not people but are "His words of truth" since that is what Jesus said the good seed was and the sons of the wicked one are not people according to you but are "lies and deception".

Then you switch figures from "lies and deception" in your last sentence above to "spirit of the wicked one."

So you see Bob, I am correct.

But Jesus did not ever say that the good seed is His words of truth sown into the minds of people. Rather He interpreted what the good seed is by saying that it is the sons of the kingdom. I will believe Him over you any day.
He also interpreted what the bad seed is. He said it is the sons of the wicked one.

Those (actual human beings) who make snares and do lawlessness (last I looked a concept could not make snares and do lawlessness) but those people who make snares and do lawlessness will, at the end of the eon, be cast out of the kingdom by Christ's angels.

Love,
Tony

Are you God's old covenant people??  Did he make a covenant with you??  Did you shed all the righteous blood of Abel??

Mat 23:35  That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zechariah son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

For me, maybe I take this too literal; but Jesus came to save his people.  and in Romans 11 we are told "all Israel will be saved".

The grafting in of the gentiles was for a purpose.  It still related to God's covenant people, and God working through the first fruits to bring in the NEW.  All Israel saved.

Rom 9:2  That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

Rom 9:3  For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

Rom 9:4  Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

The judgment that occurred, or for many is still "yet to come", is for a purpose.  Out with the OLD, and in with the NEW.  All Authority has been put down.  The power of sin is the law.  The law has been fulfilled and vanished away.

Now for me, with all that said, yes I see that God continues to work within the lives of individuals now, and to take the scriptures and see applications of how God works with us, grows us, chastens us, LOVES us; is awesome, after all it is LIVING WORD;  but the interpretation of that "internal/spiritual" application is "individual" with multiple interpretations. and no one interpretation is more "spiritual" than another.

But for me, the truth is;  We are NOT under LAW, none of us;  believers or unbelievers.

jmo,

Mt 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mt 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Personally I think in this parable we find statements of what will be.  Many people think that it is a story of people and a separation of them.

What I see is our destiny, the things that offend and do iniquity will be burned away, exposing our righteousness.

I understand this wailing and gnashing as the way I used to be is burned away.

But for me, the truth is;  We are NOT under LAW, none of us;  believers or unbelievers.

not sure why you bring up the law here? or OT covenant people? but you a gree that God works in his people NOW and that we are being refined NOW  as they were in the past and as they will be in the future, thus..IS...WAS and WILL BE.

Luk 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

be well

Rom 9:4  Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

The judgment that occurred, or for many is still "yet to come", is for a purpose.  Out with the OLD, and in with the NEW.  All Authority has been put down.  The power of sin is the law.  The law has been fulfilled and vanished away.

the law worketh wrath

Rom 4:15  Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

the law has been fulfilled.  Authority has been put down.
