How do you know that Tony?

How do you know what age he was talking about?

Certainly the age of the Mosaic Law and Levite priesthood ended 2000 years ago.

Hebrews 8:13
By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

Dear Molly, we need to keep with the Scriptures. There is nothing in the bible that says anything about "the age of the Mosaic Law etc".

Every major eon in the Bible ends with an earth shattering event. The first eon ended with the earth becoming chaos and vacant (Gen.1:2).
The next eon ended with the earth being destroyed by water (Gen.6-9).
The next eon (this eon which began when the waters receded from Noah's flood and a new earth came out of those waters) will end with an earthquake in which all the cities of the nations will fall and the islands will be moved.
That eon will end with the earth being destroyed by fire and the new earth coming out of that.

That is how I know this eon has not ended yet.

Well, anyone can show me by going against the Bible. That's simple. Just make up what Christ said to be something other than what he said or make up anything different than what the Bible said. But that doesn't really prove anything, now does it?

BTW it's not my way. I quoted Scripture and it is sound. Every major eon ends with an earth shattering experience to the earth. If not then bring forth your super duper people here who can prove the Bible wrong.

[/quote]I've given you a lot of quotes, but I just gave you one where Paul says there is a new covenant and the old one is obsolete and will soon fade away.   That is huge.  Let's take a moment and think about how huge that is.  We now have a new priesthood.  It's almost a different religion in how it [should be] practiced.

There's nothing in Rev 20, which gives a sequence of events, about the earth being destroyed by fire, so I'm not sure how to address that one, or whether I would even consider it literal if I could.  I'm not saying this eon has ended yet, I'm saying that the eon ended when Jesus was crucified and resurrected, and definitely ended in 70 ad.

Rev 20 mentions nothing about the earth ending in fire.

Anyway, maybe the wheat and tares is a done deal as of 2000 years ago.

I'm having trouble reading that, but they put Christ crucified in the middle of the present eon?

That doesn't even make sense.

Christ crucified is so momentous it would have to be the ending of one and the beginning of another.

Don't you think?

Are they saying that satan is currently chained?  right now?  That's a horrifying thought..

Dear Molly,
Please note Christ's discourse to the disciples in Matthew 24 and 25 as to when the eon in which they were living was to end. No mention is made that that eon would end when Christ came or when Christ died.

I thought he starts out Chapter 24 by saying there won't be one stone standing upon another of the temple in Jerusalem.  Then he goes on to explain the signs leading up to that event.  Isn't that a reasonable way to read that?

Tony, Right in the middle of Mat 24, he says this--

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

So he's talking about events in Judaea, not in New York City.

Then he tells them about the fig tree--which we know he's been telling them for a while that the fig will produce no more fruit forever--relating to Israel--

32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

In chapter 25, he says he is going to divide the nations--and today we do have great Christian nations, great Muslim nations, great Hindu nations, etc.
