Or you could say that Paul is an example of why you can't harvest the wheat and the tares until they mature, otherwise you might pull out a future Paul--because you can't tell them apart until they mature.

I was sticking to Tony's interpretation in which a tare is a child of Satan which is anyone doing the works of Satan, so that would be Paul.  Jesus also identified tares that way.  Jesus said (paraphrasing) IF you were a child of Abraham you would DO the works of Abraham.  But you seek to kill me, so you are a child of the devil.  Hence, Paul was a child of the devil and a tare.

You can't tell the wheat from the tares until maturity.

Paul at maturity was a wheat.

Tony's inquisition!!!!
Dear Molly, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to banish you to God's eternal torment of Joy and Peace for that statement.

They knew the darnel or tares were seeded with the wheat at the time of their planting and The lord said to let them grow together until they mature.

They knew they were darnel of tares before they matured. Right?

Now be banished to God's joy!

Tony's inquisition has spoken!

So Paul, a Pharisee , who epitimised the Jew or Those WHO served the Ministration Of Death , was a Tare , But at Maturity, come the HARVEST ,Always destined to be wheat.

Or ,He once was Dead \  alseep \Blind,  in Darkness to Christ as a Tare  The Old man which Dies , Now passing through The veil Via Belief\Faith having the  Soul( HEART MIND) burnt , that is, The Enmity of the carnal(ed) Mind being DEATH , RE NEWED as a Fulfilment of the New Covenant , "I will Place my laws in their Heart and Mind ", The shaken of the Heavens and earth which signify the Removal of that which was OLD,Being replaced the NEW, For GOD is a CONSUMING FIRE...NOW wheat or walking in the LIGHT of the DAY,AWAKE and No longer asleep in the DUST

Hbr 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel.

Hbr 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more [shall not] we [escape], if we turn away from him that [speaketh] from heaven:

Hbr 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

Hbr 12:27 And this [word], Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Hbr 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

Hbr 12:29 For our God [is] a consuming fire.

Dear Taffy, Paul was not harvested. The harvest comes "at the end of the eon" and all the tares and all the wheat are harvested at the same time, not one at a time.

Jesus never stated that the wheat could become tare or the tare could become wheat. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit and neither can a bad tree produce good fruit.

That messes up the whole parable. Jesus said that what had to be done was to wait till the end of the eon and then send in the reapers and burn up what is not wheat.

The inquisitor has spoken!  :icon_flower:

Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?

Saul /Paul was flesh  those things he done were not of faith but ignorance . darkness and it is evil in the sight of God

Yes, so the harvest either happened back then--or it is ongoing...

I'm still thinking it had to do with the levite priesthood versus the sons of the kingdom..

Because once that priesthood was gone, it was gone (burned up)...

We can even see the gnashing of teeth going on..

64Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

65Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

66What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

Saul before he met Christ and was converted.

But the other Pharisees met Christ and were not converted.

He told them, You will die in your sins.

So there is a difference.

But, Look at this--the parable of the fig tree--

13And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

--Mark 11

19And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

--Mat 21

The fig tree is associated with the nation of Israel.--

1The LORD spoke to me in a vision after King Nebuchadnezzar  of Babylonia had come to Judah and taken King Jehoiachin, his officials, and all the skilled workers back to Babylonia. In this vision I saw two baskets of figs in front of the LORD's temple. 2One basket was full of very good figs that ripened early, and the other was full of rotten figs that were not fit to eat. 3"Jeremiah," the LORD asked, "what do you see?"

"Figs," I said. "Some are very good, but the others are too rotten to eat."

4Then the LORD told me to say:

5People of Judah, the good figs stand for those of you I sent away as exiles to Babylonia, 6where I am watching over them. Then someday I will bring them back to this land. I will plant them, instead of uprooting them, and I will build them up, rather than tearing them down. 7I will give them a desire to know me and to be my people. They will want me to be their God, and they will turn back to me with all their heart.

8The rotten figs stand for King Zedekiah  of Judah, his officials, and all the others who were not taken away to Babylonia, whether they stayed here in Judah or went to live in Egypt. 9I will punish them with a terrible disaster, and everyone on earth will tremble when they hear about it. I will force the people of Judah to go to foreign countries, where they will be cursed and insulted. 10War and hunger and disease will strike them, until they finally disappear from the land that I gave them and their ancestors.

--Jer 24

Yes, so Saul was literally converted from the old priesthood to the new priesthood.

Because until the road to Damascus, he was acting under the authority of the chief priests, and, afterwards, under the authority of the High Priest Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 42 :25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid [it] not to heart.

Where did the term angel of mercy come from?

Not always though G, heres vengence

2Thes 1:7-10 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power **WHEN** he shall come to be glorified **IN** his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

But the wrath of God being poured out was even seen back then but if Hes the same, the obedience to the gospel or disobedience to it would appear to invite the same thing, yet it does speak of when ones obedience is complete that every act of disobedience would be punished too

Dear Molly, we need to keep with the Scriptures. There is nothing in the bible that says anything about "the age of the Mosaic Law etc".

Every major eon in the Bible ends with an earth shattering event. The first eon ended with the earth becoming chaos and vacant (Gen.1:2).
The next eon ended with the earth being destroyed by water (Gen.6-9).
The next eon (this eon which began when the waters receded from Noah's flood and a new earth came out of those waters) will end with an earthquake in which all the cities of the nations will fall and the islands will be moved.
That eon will end with the earth being destroyed by fire and the new earth coming out of that.

That is how I know this eon has not ended yet.
