Quote from: Molly on December 31, 2008, 10:06:14 PMYou can't tell the wheat from the tares until maturity.  Paul at maturity was a wheat.

Jesus judged men as tares because they sought to kill him, which is exactly what Saul was doing as a mature tare.  Paul of course was wheat, but the spirit previously in him that was a tare was never turned into wheat, it was simply destroyed.

Paul always had a heart for God (wheat), set apart in his mother's womb.

He was just seriously misinformed.

Whereas, the Pharisees who met Jesus face to face knew who he was.  And, they knew what they were doing.

Molly I kinda Thought That which Paul speaks Of In Galatians Being set APART from HIS Mothers Womb was The origin of His Birth, ie Now seperated from Judaism To Christ

15But when He, Who had chosen and set me apart [even] before I was born and had called me by His grace (His undeserved favor and blessing), saw fit and was pleased

16To reveal (unveil, disclose) His Son within me so that I might proclaim Him among the Gentiles (the non-Jewish world) as the glad tidings (Gospel), immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood [did not consult or counsel with any frail human being or communicate with anyone].

Hi Molly!

How does that factor into....

Mat 13:30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

This is the first thing that began to bug me about the teaching that the elect are harvested first, in the first resurrection, pre-millennium.

Tares:  imposters masquerading as priests?

But Jesus tells us they were really vipers and hypocrites.

70 ad the tares are gathered and burned, and the righteous shall shine forth in the kingdom.

7But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

10And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

--Mat 3

Molly,

Sorry, but I have no idea what you are asking me. I was simply pointing out that Christ said that in the time of harvest the tares would be harvested first. I was asking you how that factors into what you said about the priest being harvested now?

This is a Passover and Pentecost firstfruits harvest--barley and wheat.

John 4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

10Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

11And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

--Lev 23

Sorry, but I am still not sure how that answers my question.  :dontknow:
From the beginning the tares were harvested first--no more Levite priests.

QuoteFrom the beginning the tares were harvested first--no more Levite priests.

 perhaps they were unjust judges
or even respecter of persons? and always slaying sacrifieces , Jesus  is that only  sacrifice     for all time
 ?

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

Hbr 7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

Hbr 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Hbr 7:4 Now consider how great this man [was], unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Hbr 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

Hbr 7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

Hbr 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

Hbr 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he [receiveth them], of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

Hbr 7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

Hbr 7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

Hbr 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need [was there] that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Hbr 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Hbr 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

Hbr 7:14 For [it is] evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

Hbr 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

Hbr 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Hbr 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hbr 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

Hbr 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope [did]; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Hbr 7:20 And inasmuch as not without an oath [he was made priest]:

Hbr 7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

Hbr 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Hbr 7:23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

Hbr 7:24 But this [man], because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

Hbr 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hbr 7:26 For such an high priest became us, [who is] holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

Hbr 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Hbr 7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, [maketh] the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
Jesus is the reward  !!

You cannot tell the difference between a tare and a wheat until maturity.  You can't look at a man and tell what is in his heart.

But, Paul was doing what he thought was right for God, not out of an evil heart.  The minute he found out that he was wrong, he repented.

The tares do what they do out of an evil heart.  Jesus tells them, You will die in your sins.  They will never repent.

You use the rod to guide sheep.   You don't beat them with it.  Like when you are putting them in a pen, you stand to the side holding the rod out to keep them from straying from the gate.

You can't understand why we are sheep, and he is the shepherd, unless you have visited a sheep farm rofl.

The shepherd would never hurt his own sheep--he lays down his life for the sheep.

4"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.'
--Luke 15

Isaiah 40:11
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Psalm 79:13
Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.

Quote from: Molly on December 31, 2008, 10:48:30 PMPaul always had a heart for God (wheat), set apart in his mother's womb.  He was just seriously misinformed.  Whereas, the Pharisees who met Jesus face to face knew who he was.  And, they knew what they were doing.

You are saying that wheat can bring forth tare fruit for a while. But then we really can not know a tree by it's fruit.  Also, I don't think Paul thought of himself as having any greater heart for God than others.  "What then are we better than they? No in no wise.... There is none righteous, no not one.... none that seeketh after God."

Paul was appointed--set apart--in his mother's womb.

Paul was undergoing the body of death Molly  in romans 7   at the same time he was  living to God
they were both  at the same time / together   as we all must go through

ignorance  is sin  , missing the mark   he repented because he KNEW it was wrong  , blindness / ignorance   is the same thing

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by [that] man whom he hath ordained; [whereof] he hath given assurance unto all [men], in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Yes the law has changed with respect to the priesthood, based no longer on a carnal law of bloodline succession, but on the basis of an endless life.

Yes Molly that is exactly what being Spiritual is !

Ok so its he who spares the rod loves his son more?

You use the rod to guide sheep.   You don't beat them with it.  Like when you are putting them in a pen, you stand to the side with the rod keeping them from straying from the gate.

You can't understand why we are sheep, and he is the shepherd, unless you have visited a sheep farm rofl.

The shepherd would never hurt his own sheep--he lays down his life for the sheep.

Moll's Im talking about the verse in proverbs about he who spares his ROD hateth his SON, so Im not talking about a sheperd rod to sheep but one of a father

I have goats and I never strike any of them and they are the most unruly creatures
Yes, I know--but he is our Father, and our good shepherd.

This passage has been so misinterpreted,it makes me crazy.

Goats are a little smarter than sheep.  Sheep have to be the dumbest, most clueless animals in the kingdom.

You can't really teach sheep anything--you have to continually guide them.  But they will recognize the shepherd's voice, and go to their own shepherd.

But the shepherd's rod is for beating off the wolves and the bears and the predators of the sheep, not the sheep.  With the sheep, it is just used for guidance.   Go talk to a shepherd, and ask if he ever beats his sheep lol.

Yes, and there's another word for sin which means open rebellion, where you know it is wrong and you do it anyway.

But, Paul, once shown he was in error, repented--he was not sinning on purpose.

I agree, but what does that prove.  Paul was still at one time by nature a child of wrath.

QuoteYou cannot tell the difference between a tare and a wheat until maturity.

In the parable they told the difference when the fruit appeared.

Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders.

Acts 22:20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

Matthew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Luke 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Acts 9:1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest.

Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Rev 13:9 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

I'll stay with what he says

be zealous therefore, and repent.
