From what evidence I have read I can begin to understand(certainly I am open for thoughts) that, "the ground and dust" is the mother that was spoken of in Gen 2:24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
Gen. 2:7 Dust H6083 dust (as powdered or gray); hence clay, earth, mud: - ashes, dust, earth, ground, morter, powder, rubbish.
of the ground H127 soil (from its general redness): - country, earth, ground, husband [-man] (-ry), land.

From this I reason that the mother H517 A primitive word; a mother (as the bond of the family); in a wide sense (both literally and figuratively); (like H1): - dam, mother, X parting.
Man/adam= was the dust of the ground. The Lord God breathed into that dust and ground and that formula became a living soul.

Thats what the pagans believe so it may be true.  What I mean by that is, all pagan idolatry has a primal source.  Going back to the days after Noah.  Very likely the originators of the fables corrupted the truth that was handed down by their grandfather Noah (and obviously unrecorded revelation from God).  Being that the flood had just happened, and was fresh in the minds of men it would be hard to completely come up with something new, being that people were so close to God (at least from a temporal perspective).

what ended up happening is that they started to deify men starting with Adam, Cain, Able, Seth.  Then the flood came and Noah and his 3 sons became the reincarnated Adam and his sons.  Likely because man was created in the image of God did this speculation arise.  The world, the ark, the cow, the egg, the lotus flower, all came to symbolize the womb that brought the menu or adam/noah/osiris/nimrod/etc through the watery chaos.

I'm not saying that we should be building doctrines off of pagan knowledge.  Just that there is likely some truth although highly corrupted.  Thus the "bondage of corruption".

Do you remember that post about the matrix from a few months ago you had Micah?  I haven't been able to find it, I've wanted to revisit it, as this is somewhat what I'm trying to get across.

Molly

Have to be careful there, Micah.  There are those who even today worship 'mother earth,' and would kill men to protect 'her.'  It's not a pretty sight.

So you all dont have a thought on the posted subject? I just did my figuring from what I know of a mother, like I came out of my mother. I was in the womb of a female who when I cam out I called mom.
I had not known of any pagan teachings of such, I am not offering my study as such.
So, you all have any ideas or thoughts on who was adam/man/mankinds mother?

Ps No I dont know where that matrix post was. I had just added to it, but I find that for me and my mental abilities that it has a very spiritual meaning, I do not believe that the producers had what I gleaned from it in mind.

If earth is Adam's mother who is teh father and mother of earth?

Earth is our slave master. We have to work for earth to get food
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Dont believe I said anything about earth.

But as for your concern for the father and mother of earth that( we are speculating of course) would be God, for we know from Gen.1:27 that he represents male and female(sire and dame) my input.

Biblical truth = adams mother was the dust of the ground
Pagan corruption = adams mother was earth who is a sentient being to worship

If people were exposed to the truth about the dust of the ground back then, then it wouldn't have been as big of a stretch to turn the dusty mother into the whole earth

I'm not saying I agree with your premise (neither do I disagree) just explaining what I meant

micah7:9

Gotcha, and thanks. I believe you said it well and thank you for this bit of info "Pagan corruption = adams mother was earth who is a sentient being to worship" I did not know this.

Chaos=Cush btw

Interesting.  And, we see in our own first chapter of Genesis that the earth was tohu and bohu--without form and void--chaos.

I doubt that chaos is a pleasant deity.

What is their motto?  Out of chaos, order--their order, not God's.

Just where did you come up with this Chaos=Cush, by the way?

Chaos=Cush btw

If I am to see anything in this tohu and bohu, it is Abel and Cain, respectfully. I see nowhere that it can be Cush.

My thoughts are that ALL things came out of God the father. The when where and how is not important

no

Well what does "My thoughts are that ALL things came out of God the father. The when where and how is not important "
mean?

HartleyIrvinDamboiseII

When God said "Light Be" that was the beginning. The movement of air out of His Spirit was the first movement of moving things.
may trillions of years later, when He desided to make man. He made an image of Self. A man women child. ( some think this was the second making of humans)

I am not going deep into the earth thinking. I am just saying that God made it all and all was out of HIM.

Again a contridiction of terms "The movement of air out of His Spirit" movement of air is wind H7307  rûach  wind; spirit H7307
rûach
Im not trying to be a moron, but what are you trying to say. I ask in peace and love.

chaos= cush, I believe its in chaldee.

Origins of Pagan Idolatry by Faber is where I read most of this.  I cross checked some of the claims and found them to be true, or at least plausable from a etymology, historical perspective.  The line of thought is that Cush was likely involved in the cause of the languages being confused.  Unfortunately a good bit of history is conjecture, especially ancient history going back to the time of the flood, so a lot of it is putting bits and pieces together.

Fascinating read, saxons for instance are cucrapes.  Sacca=cush in hindi I think.  All of the monarchies in europe/the world are related.  The brahmas in India are cush.

From what you stated its an assumption by someone named Faber, correct. You cross check some of what claims?
" Unfortunately a good bit of history is conjecture, especially ancient history going back to the time of the flood, so a lot of it is putting bits and pieces together." Now there is what would cause me, that only me, to not read further. Do these studys say that the "flood of Noe" was and entire earth flood? I myself have not studied pagan religion with the Bible in 35 years.

Molly

Micah, the study of ancient history, ancient semitic languages, religion,  and culture, the Egyptians, etc is a well established body of studies spanning the last 200 years.

redhotmagma

I'm talking history, and nothing is fully certain in history, I'm sure you've heard "the winners write history", there are always competing ideas/translations.  Thats all the qualifier meant. The reason I studied this was trying to figure out the nature of revelation (outside of biblical records), the nature of "the bondage of corruption" and the futility that creation was subjected to and also how did pagan-ness get into christianity.

By claims I mean chaos=cush, or some of the connections that link china, india, the middle east, the Americas, through all the same rituals and gods.  Its some deep stuff with a lot of connections, kind of like doing Bible word studies.

Molly

Yes, and we see a lot of references to these gods in our own Bible--Ba'al, Molech, 'false gods,' idols to gods.

We see the Hebrews falling into these pagan practices when they are taken into captivity, we see them worshipping other gods; when they leave captivity, they bring these gods with them.

God is always warning them, admonishing them, angry with them, and finally divorcing them over these practices.  He calls them 'whores,' betraying their marriage to him,

Jeremiah 3:8
And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Our mother and father, our spouse, brother, sister and son is the LORD God of Israel.
