Hey Everyone,

Jude 13

Wild waves of the sea, splashing up their own shames like foam, wandering stars (fig, planets out of their orbits), for whom the thick gloom of the darkness  (fig, the gloomy hell) has been reserved into the age ( fig, forever).

Why will some be lost for eternity even though God has the ability to burn away their wickedness?  There are people who simply want nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ. In spite of the goodness of God, they are determined to pursue their own path apart from God. These are the individuals who will be assigned to eternal darkness.

Look forward to your responses. God bless.

You commented in another one of your posts that you have to be chosen by God to believe, did you not? It's contradiction then to say that there are some people who just want nothing to do with God, if God not has ordained them to believe.  :sigh:

So what I take out of your gospel is that God chooses believers; so then that would mean God also chooses those who don't believe. And those he knows will never believe he punishes for eternity. That is a miserable gospel if that's what your implying is the truth.
People are never truly against God. They are against their personal experiances of religions, or someting traumatic that was done in the name of God, but they cannot be an enemy of something they do not fully understand.

Your thread title talks about an age which is not for eternity.  You do express the figurative of forever so then that is the key.

It is temporary literally,  but it will seem like forever because we will have no way to know how long that period of time is.

No one can be lost for ever literally.

ChosenofGod37

Hey Paul,

No, not at all a contradiction. Read Romans 9: 14-25. Give close attention to versus 19-21.

you said:

Read Romans 3:9-18. Man has no fear of God. They rebel against Him from the womb. They don't seek Him nor can they without God's sovereign grace.(Jn 6:44)

Ta-da! Here's your answer, sir.

Jude 1:13 (Young's Literal Translation)

Quote13wild waves of a sea, foaming out their own shames; stars going astray, to whom the gloom of the darkness to the age hath been kept.

It obviously only lasts an age. This might not even have to do with "Hell," or rather, Gehenna. (Although, even if it does, it still only lasts for an age.)

Actually COG37, that was me, not Paul. Those verses in Romans are very true. But as we stated before, His MERCY ENDURES FOR THE AGES. ALL AGES. This is beginning to get repetitive.

How long is an Age?

However long God sees fit. Fire and brimstone are both purifying agents.

IMO it is an determined amount of time by God but unknown to any person but definitely a time with a beginning and an end.

Hi CoG,

What Bible is that you are quoting?  I'm really enjoying it.

Also, could you give me your opinion of the Inquisition, where one group of Christians was torturing and killing another group of Christians [and others] for believing what they considered heresy?  Do you think that was wrong?  And, how might Jesus view that?

God is just, not harsh.

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

ChosenofGod37

Hey Brandon,

However long God sees fit? Just as long as it is not forever, right? lol.

I know you are just one person Chosen and you have taken on many (us on this forum) but your picking and choosing who to respond to says much but I will be patient and see if it is only your limitations that are keeping you from responding.

Again you are furthering the truth of God IMO by your great questions and not so good answers.............well, not so good from my point of view but maybe they are good to someone so keep it up as you may be saving souls my friend.

Eternity is not a period of time. Eternity just is. And you have not responded to my fire and brimstone comment, or how you believe your gospel to be good news. Or how despite what Romans 9 says God's mercy still endures forever. You choose what to respond to. Cp is right, you have taken on many of us outnumbered, and iron does sharpen iron, and in that I thank you for that. But me thinks we will be going in circles, as you are blinded in your doctrine. I once believed as you. And I have the witness of the spirit of being enlightened from that. This is my confession of God as he has been shown to me and others on this board, and it is oh so beautiful.
Thanks,

Good words AS, and may I add Jesus Himself gave a good definition of the word 'eternal' and He even used it in a sentence................

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.  jn17.3

No mention of time at all. Hmmmmmmmm. Of course this is just Jesus' interpretation and may not be Chosens as he has his own beliefs of what is sound Scripture and what is not but what can one do?

Pray and be patient. I will try.

:cloud9: As long as you persist in having zeal without knowledge (the knowledge of the Word that is SPIRIT), you are continuing to regurgitate only lifeless letter, no different than the Pharisees who trusted in the letter but whose tables of the heart (out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks) were full of vomit.

You would do well to apply yourself to studying the pattern of Tabernacle which Hebrews 10 tells us is the pattern of HEAVENLY or spiritual things.

So going with that understanding, the wild waves of the sea speak of the outer court realm, the sea of humanity waters below the firmament, who are of the all men that have been given a measure of faith (spark) to receive Him.

The wandering stars are those of the inner court realm of the spiritual priesthood, the firmament in pattern, who have not looked to the true Shepherd of the soul, ie. the Spirit of Truth who will lead them into all truth, but have set up IDOLS OF MEN over them as 'lights' to look to for direction in the nighttime of their souls, while awaiting the Daystar to arise in their hearts.

One has a spark, one has a flame (tongues of fire given on the day of Pentecost), but because neither has pressed in to be called of Father who is a CONSUMING FIRE, both are left in the relative darkness (Hebrew thought of that word darkness is ignorance) awaiting the judgment of the things of flesh that kept them in bondage, no different than the 3 Hebrew children's bands that were consumed by the FIRE leaving them untouched, each man in his own order.

Note it is MEN and not God who cast them into the fire. But what the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good. Blessings...

Yes it is, brother.

Once you have been set free from the prison, once those shackles have been removed...there is no going back. The prison guards may walk by jangling their leg irons... but it has no effect, for If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

And this is where the true gospel, the revealing of the true good news starts to come alive in your heart. This is where the riches of His love start to flow in your heart like an untamed river. There will be those who will try to build a dam in your heart against it... but it won't work. Their little twigs snap at the rush of His love and overwhelm them. It is futile. Once the veils are taken off of your eyes, once you SEE His extraordinary love for all of His creatures, and His perfect plan...you can't go back into the darkness. There is just far too much light for that to happen.

Oh, how the Love flows in your heart... for all.
Even for the dam builders.
Even for the prison guards.
Even for those trying to turn off the light.
Maybe even "especially" for those...

:HeartThrob:

peace..

My point stands based on your own words.

Eternity can never be an age of time and you actually agree with me when it comes to forever being the figurative language of the bible and an age which is temporary.

Man is not against God in the manner in which religion has depicted which is the point of my words.

How do yo know the age is only temporary?

Through the context of chastisement which is the intent of correction.  If we are to be corrected, then being in darkness is temporary.

ChosenofGod37

Paul,

The context of chastisement you referring to is only for God's born again children.

Hebrews 12: 5-8 "And you have forgotten completely the encouragement which reasons with you as with sons and daughters: My son ( fig, child) stop thinking lightly of the discipline of the Lord, and stop becoming discouraged when being corrected by Him. 6 For whom the lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges ( fig, punishes) every son ( fig, child) whom He Receives.( Prov 3:11-12) 7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with sons and daughters; for what son is there whom a father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become sharers then you are illegitimate children and not sons and daughters.

Prove to me the age is temporary.

I was certainly one who wanted to do nothing with the Lord Jesus Christ , i did not want Him to rule over me , i was determined to pursue my own path apart from God,UNTIL ,He apprehended me . O love that will not let me go !!!!!!!!!!!.

Prove to me the age is temporary.

That would be true if God only loves us when we accept him, but that is not true.

1Jn 4:19 We'  are loving God,  for He'  first loves us.

That's the context of Gods love.  The proof that the age is temporary is because of the proper context of Gods love.

ChosenofGod37

Paul,

Yes, God is love. Why do you think he loves unbelievers who He calls His enemies?( James 4:4)

Did he love Amalek and all the ites in the OT he ordered the nation of Israel to destroy? I think not.

Read 1 Samuel 15:1-3. 3"Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman and INFANT, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'

Did God love Amalek so much that he order their children to be slaughtered?

I know these scriptures are hard to read and I take no pleasure pointing out how God deals with his enemies. I only do so to show how God does not love every unbeliever in the entire world, only His children.

Jacob I love, Esau I hate. rom9.13

This must be a favorite verse for you Chosen. It must confirm in your heart how much God hates certain people.

All I can say is....  But the  natural  man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
