2 Peter 3, Earth and Sinners Destroyed

2 Peter 3:3 First of all, I want you to know that in the last days men will laugh at the truth. They will follow their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, "He promised to come again. Where is He? Since our early fathers died, everything is the same from the beginning of the world." 5 But they want to forget that God spoke and the heavens were made long ago. The earth was made out of water and water was all around it. 6 Long ago the earth was covered with water and it was destroyed. 7 But the heaven we see now and the earth we live on now have been kept by His word. They will be kept until they are to be destroyed by fire. They will be kept until the day men stand before God and sinners will be destroyed.

Anyone+ interested in giving commentary, examining and explaining some of the "difficult" aspects of this passage in light of UR?  Thanks :)

  For me and my thoughts on this chapter  is this  :2c:,

Peter is describing  ages of changes  by the natural eye , it is all the same and carnally understood ,  all they see is  destruction  and death and wonder where is God   in this world ?  As unbelieving and unrepentant

The world has continued   on its course  in Adam all die because of sin ,  they hid from Gods sight , How many do you see like this  now a  days  doing their own thing  and   body will die  in their sins/errors   .

as the days of Noah come and flooded the earth , I see God as   wanting to   save them , but  , they did not desire the things of God  so  he  turned them over to their own lusts and desires   , as a baptism  into death  still to this day , because  God is patient  towards  mankind  .

Till  everyone born of woman under the law of Moses   , this is the moral law   given  to Israel  by faith of Abraham and the traditions of men , Moses was a man  given the law  by God   to prove  and separate what was good and evil   , there was no   way of knowing  good   and evil   till the law and ministration of death come    and it was without mercy under this law if broken , but man used it unlawfully  transgressing   against the law of good and evil , an act that goes against a law, rule, or code of conduct; an offense.


because Mankind  could not  discern  spiritual   things  , heaven had not opened till Christ come , as a  man , born of woman under the law   ,,, but really was sent from Heaven as the Only son of God  sent down from Heaven  , leaving his first abode ,
  before everyone   ascended  , no one ever descended     
  There are scriptures  to prove this  , but I just simplified it here . 
 
  The  royal law was always Love God first and foremost considering Him in all your ways  and being dependant upon Him for every need and thankful and   treat everyone  in the same manner you desire to be treated with mercy   


  Gods divine natures are   Love and  Light and SPIRITUAL  Fire   Pure and Holy  , we all as Adam were planted   in a corrupt body   , this natural body is undergoing death    because it was made weak by God on purpose    to prove    the serpents LIE 

in Gods mercy He even shortened the days of our flesh , knowing because of sin nature no flesh could be saved to the end  in Adams 930 years   to 70 years  more or less ,  waiting on the Lord   become discouraged  with all this evil and death continually  [  like Sodom and Gomorrah    wickedness  has increased  as a fire of burning   lust in the flesh  by spiritual wickedness  ruling  over the soul / life and body    ]   and   to even experience  and taste  the things of the  Spirit  of God

  Spirit would fail  if the Lord had not left us a seed / Word of God   / the LORD JESUS CHRIST   though the ages  and stages  of the world existence   

  The   Lord God is awakening  [rise up out of  death ]   those whom sleep in Adam/ spiritual death    as the Day and Light  comes though Him  , His Word of LIFE by the Spirit of life to rule the heart   and mind and body  , making them a new creation

   The old  saying fighting fire with Fire  , is of a truth , the fire of   worldly lust brings destruction  , but   the fire of Holy Spirit brings  new Life  as he comes to us   Babylon has  since Gen 11   to repent of her ways and yet has not  , but many  of  wonderful   souls have come out of her       and been delivered  from her   rule   prison /  and the plagues   and curses  upon her over the ages  , but must be destroyed  all evil must be destroyed   by the Lords coming to save us .

  The free gift of    a spiritual Life in Christ  was  done before the foundation of the World   , When   John the baptist   declared the truth   , Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the whole world   , we should have believed Him  ...


  But    Believe Jesus    the dead will  hear His  voice and Live    that would be any of us at any time    ,  many  are being judged  by what is in the body of death now   , they just still do not hear His voice  , till the Father  says  so . everyone will  hear  and live  [ Jesus holds the power of death  and LIFE  now , satan's power is in the world , not in the Lords body [Heaven ] but the Lord has the power to save anyone out of the world at anytime   because HE ALONE IS THE LORD OF ALL   and overcome the world  so greater is He than is in you than in the world !   we wait  for it  to happen  each in their own order  as called   by name one by one  , you know within your spirit it is true   . that the outer man is perishing  and does not know Gods   will  and desire    and never could  , because he is spiritually discerned  ,   perceive  with difficulty by sight or with the other senses.   blind and cannot See God nor the things of God ...  and subjected to the vanity  of this life  as fruitless  corruption &  error  but  keeps desiring  to be filled by the things  of the world  and   ruled under  a bad and harmful spirit without mercy till it is no more able too /end .  Christ will be   giving them everything new   , because HE DOES JUDGE IN MERCY  and grace is what Jesus does   by His own  nature .   HE died for them too ...

    last but not least     , those that are forgiven much LOVE much .   Every knee will bow under His authority  and confess Him .    None of us , not a one of us can do nothing without   the Lord Jesus Christ    and all  will realize   this truth  when the WORD OF GOD judges everything by His White throne  ,  all that know Him already  in the heavens   that salvation was always of God and not of our own  .  Mercy was always   hidden  ,  from them  till the end ......
  the mercy seat   was hidden by the cherubim of glory  ,  we can not discuss at this time ...  Hebrews 9  5 Above the ark were the cherubim of glory, overshadowing /  HIDDEN   the mercy seat. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.
  I do believe this would be revealed when the Spirit of prophecy speaks ,    by the seals being opened and  the BOOK of Life is opened  up    fully    and the works  of God are being  manifested   shortly    OPENLY  those hidden things  of Gods glory  to be revealed  by the Lord Jesus Christ      that at the time was not made known but By the Spirit of truth would be made known to us  in the last hour  as the world is being judged by the WORD OF TRUTH  ..



 

Isaiah 57    explains  so much

1The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart;
            And devout men are taken away, while no one understands.
            For the righteous man is taken away from evil,
      2He enters into peace;
            They rest in their beds,
            Each one who walked in his upright way.

      3"But come here, you sons of a sorceress,
            Offspring of an adulterer and a prostitute.

      4"Against whom do you jest?
            Against whom do you open wide your mouth
            And stick out your tongue?
            Are you not children of rebellion,
            Offspring of deceit,

      5Who inflame yourselves among the oaks,
            Under every luxuriant tree,
            Who slaughter the children in the ravines,

            And you have made an agreement for yourself with them,
            You have loved their bed,
            You have looked on their manhood.

      9"You have journeyed to the king with oil
            And increased your perfumes;
            You have sent your envoys a great distance
            And made them go down to Sheol.

      10"You were tired out by the length of your road,
            Yet you did not say, 'It is hopeless.'
            You found renewed strength,
            Therefore you did not faint.

      11"Of whom were you worried and fearful
            When you lied, and did not remember Me
            Nor give Me a thought?
            Was I not silent even for a long time
            So you do not fear Me?

      12"I will declare your righteousness and your deeds,
            But they will not profit you.

      13"When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you.
            But the wind will carry all of them up,
            And a breath will take them away.
            But he who takes refuge in Me will inherit the land
            And will possess My holy mountain."

      14And it will be said,
            "Build up, build up, prepare the way,
            Remove every obstacle out of the way of My people."

      15For thus says the high and exalted One
            Who lives forever, whose name is Holy,
            "I dwell on a high and holy place,
            And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit
            In order to revive the spirit of the lowly
            And to revive the heart of the contrite.

      16"For I will not contend forever,
            Nor will I always be angry;
            For the spirit would grow faint before Me,
            And the breath of those whom I have made.

      17"Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him;
            I hid My face and was angry,
            And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart.

      18"I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;
            I will lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourners,

      19Creating the praise of the lips.
            Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near,"
            Says the LORD, "and I will heal him."

      20But the wicked are like the tossing sea,
            For it cannot be quiet,
            And its waters toss up refuse and mud.

      21"There is no peace," says my God, "for the wicked." 

By this was prophesied  before Jesus  Christ come into the world  openly   showing us   and  all power and  principalities are under His authority  & new covenant   now in effect   and    to save what is lost   , imagine  how far advanced it has become   by now!!!     


Jesus says come unto me  all you whom are heavy laden and I WILL GIVE YOU REST   FOR YOUR SOULS / LIVES

When we  believe Him  finally with our whole hearts ,  the peace and rest comes .  as He finishes up   the works  of  old .Fulfilling all things in and though Himself   as total authority   and rule  under Him  and at His feet /disposal   to salvage  or rid of  , satan has no power over Jesus Christ  but is subjected to Him    also  for the destruction of our flesh when handed over to him .      ...


We rest in Hope   and wait on the Lord  for instruction , be still and let Him deliver  ,   and do not budge from His peace  and safety  already  comforting  our troubled minds ., by His Word in us and Spirit working in us already .

  GOD IS IN TOTAL   and complete  CONTROL    ever and always   being reconciled in Christ    Holding the power of all   within His WORD of life  and By His own Spirit of Life ...   :HeartThrob:  U R    is   the power of God   by salvation   of God for His glory  and we will  all  glory in the Lord     in that day      when evil cannot ever exist   in the incorruptible  witness    WORD OF GOD  By His  HOLY SPIRIT   witness      perfection and completion     from GOD  .. God opens His body to recieve our returning spirits. God removes His lot[all men 's spirits redeemed by Christ's blood] before He burns this earth and heavens.the tares

are bound to this vincinty[satan and the fallen angels[seed] awaiting their consumation of fire] men's spirits[wheat]gathered into Heaven.[spiritsofjustifiedmenmadeperfect]


sin is a demon[tare] any man possessed by such will exhibit beastly behaviour and ignorance, but the demon's say..I know who you are  Jesus,did you come

to torment us before the time? when this earth and heaven is consumed of fire..that is the LOF...and the tare and seed will be consumed.

.."destroyed/brought to ruin" but as we know, not 'for ever' :banana:

The verses seem, like some others do, to span the whole 2nd advent, from verse 12 - as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. (which I believe is Armageddon, the tares gathered to, coinciding with His return, and I agree w/ Sheila is a lof) to verse13 - But in keeping with God's promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. -- as we know the "new heavens and new earth" do not occur until Rev. 21:1

Revelation 21:1 - And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away

I sometimes think verse 12 - as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. somehow refers to both events ( :dontknow: ) the melting of elements at His return "when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, know it is nigh" - which in the melting of elements is the destruction of human empires and world system of things, one earth and in the air - but also referring to that melting and changing of elements of Rev chapter 21, when "all" things are made new.. and John saw a new heavens and a new Earth.. whether the sense is a whole new version, or renewal (w/o seas separating) - either way, this one of Rev 21 includes "all".

But, His return when He sets up His millennial rule.. I believe is upon the present earth as is because of things prophesied by the prophets, about clean up and dead bodies and such.

I don't know if "the lion will eat straw like the ox, the bear will graze with the cow" (Is. 11:7) is fulfilled during the millennium or not until the "new heavens and new earth" at the vivification of all. [Judgment 'Day' of course being between the two.]

  as dead already because of sin in the flesh.  Gog's crowd/hoards that encompass the camp[temporal spirits of men dwelling inflesh[the sin that so easily entangle's

us.d/t our weak,corruptible vessels..

   the angels buried Moses's body,also...but fire will utterly purify/consume all corruption from the present heaven and earth.  There was no going back to Egypt or Sodom.

  nothing good comes from longing to return to Egypt..or looking back upon Sodom. those examples were given for our benefit..as well as a great gulf fixed between
