"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:55

The ET way of thinking of this verse is a very selfish way of seeing it, imo. O death where is thy sting? As long as I'm saved, all is well and victorious. The angels are singing.. But if a loved one isn't saved.. That has no "sting"?! Someone would say "it won't matter because the former things will not come to mind".. That sort of idea literally chills me. I can  feel the cold. Brrrrrr...

Isn't it wonderful to know the verse, quoted from Hosea(?) is actually literal and very much true!  :dsunny:

Absolutely!!

" For He [Christ] must reign until He  shall put ALL His enemies under His feet."
" But when all things have been put into subjection to Him [Jesus], then the Son Himself shall be put into subjection to Him [God]Who put ALL things into subjection to Him [Christ] - that God may be all in all things."

* The all things including death.

"Now the sting of death is sin"-  dealt with by the cross.
"And the power of sin is the law"  - grace out performs the law, but the law necessary to appreciate the grace.
"But thanks be to God Who is GIVING us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."-  The summary of our hope.

Not a 5 minute process.
The biggest variations between religions seems to be because they do not yet grasp the reality of the completeness of the work of Christ exceeding the downfall of the sin of Adam. The statement made by Paul about Christ exceeding Adam is over looked, or just not aware of due to the  blinders- when the blinders are removed then things make more sense than conceivable to the flesh- ergo MUST be born literally again or never grasp the kingdom of God.

All wondrous and glorious.
