Marie..yes..manchild = son of man...there are scriptures where others are spoken to/addressed

as son of man.   Son of Adam[mankind]  given authority and power and dominion and kingdom

heirs of the Kingdom.  the salvation of all mankind raised up is His image..is the manchild

Born again man; born from above..the heavens.   the firstborn from the dead..the head is

delivered first..the head of the man is Jesus Christ.

I think to follow what I'm saying a rereading of Revelation chapter 12 would be necessary

They are sometimes called "blackrobes."  The head of the Jesuit Order is often referred to as the Black Pope.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Jesus/head;  I believe that's a "yes".

body of Christ/those spiritually reborn;  I also believe that's a "yes"
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

perhaps, :Chinscratch: perhaps a manchild

from Revelation 12,one of 4 inserts, one of the locks of the BK of Rev (KJ)

"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered...and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born." (Dragon via Herod)"...And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness: (history,70a.d.) "where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And the great dragon was cast out" (no longer access to heaven after Christ's victory) "...And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night... And they" (brethren) "overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death...And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted" (again, history, inquisitioned) "the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle.." (a 2nd migration, sheep of one fold)"..And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood" (proliferation) "And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth." (future, cross ref=Lk23:28-31, dry leaf) "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and" (by now, cross ref=Mt 23:39) "have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Thanks, Sheila, me too.. I agree the body of Christ inherits all things.. but yes in this spot of Bible prophecy i think it's the story of (natural and grafted) Israel, first the natural woman and after Jesus' life and ascension, the new covenant woman, and events which occur... manchild as plural here obscures the rest of the chapter (which is basically two migrations).. also I think the body of Jesus, manchild plural, is limited until revelation 20 and the resurrection  when she (the bride) puts on all that is inherited (lest any should boast?).. rev 12 to me is still the earthly bride (beginning w Israel who gave birth to Christ who Herod tried to destroy/devour.. it's not the manchild i'm focused on so much, whether Jesus' birth n ascension or plural, as i am the chapter as prophecy, and summary, a whole history with a different beginning and focus, and an insert within the Book of Revelation narrative, one of (at least) four  thanks!

TY  I understand your veiwpoint now,Marie.  and yes I agree with the timeline of 1970..

but I know these 'signs' and markers given to us in Revelations...have both signs in the earth

  and signs in the heavens[natural/spiritual]

Can you see the calling to come out of her my people[Babylon] as a first migration

of beleivers at the time of His return  and fulfilling the fall feasts?   First the natural

then the spiritual fulfilling of His word.  Thus the calling the woman into the wilderness

and the wooing of her..the restoring of the vineyards.  And then the woman comes up

out of the wilderness leaning on her lover...to enter the fulfillment of the promises[land]2nd

  migration

[who is 'this" coming up out of the wilderness..leaning on her beloved..as majestic

as the moon..and the stars..in procession[woman standing on moon with 12 stars on her head

clothed with the son]   2nd migration from wilderness 'up"

the signs are both natural and spiritual...and He fulfills them both.

.....when the time come for the deliverance of His people from slavery in Egypt[this world in

which the prince of this world/adversary holds us in subjection/rules over us]

The Lord stated the purpose of wanting His people to be released......that.....

they may make a 3 day journey into the wilderness..and make an offering acceptable

unto God.   I believe this is a type or foreshadow..of our call out of Babylon[this world]

into the wilderness..where we are wooed of Him.

I will share with you my personal spiritual expierence. Shortly before coming into the knowledge

of the salvation of all..and after coming out of the Babylon church expierence.

for three days in a row..I was awakened by a voice.  The first morning..I was

awakened to 'read the parable of the ten virgins"...I freaked    I tell you I knew I needed

to get prepared...that He was at the door....all day long I was in the scriptures..examining

them...and the meaning of the parable.

The secound morning ,I was awakened by the voice saying  'walk in the way"..there I went

again..'in the way?"...researching..digging..praying

On the 3rd morning..I was awakened..by a voice[that I took to be my husband] calling

my name twice...I answered.." I'm coming"  and jumped out of bed and hurried into

the living room.only to discover my husband asleep..and it was not he who called[see Samuel

and Eli]

I see the above expierence as a three day journey in the wilderness...a spiritual expierence

that wise virgins must me prepared for...and walk in..til your betrothed husband calls

your name.  'upward call that Paul speaks of"   I press on toward the goal,to win the

prize  for which God has called me heavenward in Jesus Christ"

Press in,all you sons and daughters........

Thank you for sharing Sheila.  :HeartThrob:  :HeartThrob:  :HeartThrob:

I agree there's spiritual messages behind all.. but the thing I focus on is how most believe the U.S. is not in Bible prophecy.. totally overlooking or missing this 2nd migration (in Rev 12) of the truth upon the planet "she's given the two wings of an eagle that she may sail to a new place.." oops, "fly"

I think the spiritual messages behind these things are great, and I also believe the literal things upon earth / this life as we presently know it, is very important to all learning exactly, and all it is that He is endeavoring to teach, and prove unto all, for all 'time' and eternity..

I guess the way I think is like the parting of the Red Sea, lots of spiritual insight and messages, but also a literal rendering pertaining to history and God's plan of teaching what it is He is seeking to bring home to and convince all for all eternity..

Collapse (Bible prophecy) being a huge part of that lesson/truth proving drama, and is no reflection upon God.. Indeed, if God had not intervened from the very beginning, every single 'soul' would perish (that's a big part of the lesson)  rather than everyone survive and have the all important lesson of all this under their belt for all eternity..  :friendstu:

Some maintain that America is the Stone Kingdom - not sure myself, but I always looked to the millennial kingdom for that role.

:2c:I'm an extreme pessimist in that I don't see America at the end times because I don't believe America will be a country of any reputation much longer. Do we lead the world in anything at all anymore except debt?... and don't say freedom because there are still countries that have the same or more freedom than America. Besides, "the borrower is servant to the lender" and America not only has the greatest debt but more than any other country, encourages its citizens to get further and further into debt until your freedom is gone as you work for the (other) master. It is it's own example. Our government since we went on the Federal reserve system (which is NOT a part of our government) spends between 20 and 25% more each year that it takes in. After the military, the payment on our debt is the next biggest expenditure. :sigh: :2c:

"the woman" (rev 12) imo, after being given the two wings of an eagle to 'fly' to a new place, was washed away from the land by the flood / proliferation which came 3 and 1/2 modern divisions of time after she 'landed' at the new place.. Then, at that time, a previously hidden social phenomenon burst upon the scene (was vomited upon the scene by the dragon) "in order to wash her/the faith away" from the land..

And the false prophet/teaching went before and prepared the way right well..

Also! imo, rev 13:13 a (new) fire was brought down from the 'sky' in the sight of man, persuading them to rebuild the 1st beast of rev 13 (verse 12, verses are not necessarily in order) ..it, the 1st beast of rev 13, had previously expired (when its 'head' did not, after all sign on). I believe the 2nd beast of rev 13 to be an office of man, with verse 13:13 pinpointing the office the final man beast comes out of, at one time or another at least..

"It worked mighty miracles, and while people watched, it even made fire come down from the sky" - Rev 13:13 -  imo, this occurred in 1945 upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki, surely an event worthy of Bible prophecy mention - I can't help myself but to add a cross reference, chapter 6, the 6th seal, but the seals are described as a blend - what they are at beginning/Opening + what they are fully progressed/galloped, at the 'end'. This is one way the Revelation vision is locked for a time...
:teaching: :Book: :BangHead: <-- ppl seldom seem to catch what i'm saying, but I go on and on b'cause there are concrete signs and a counting of days that would be good to be passed on to believers for those days and that generation  :icon_joker:

Logic would say that the generation that believes
it will see the end of days has to be the generation that is still
alive.
Are we the first generation to say ;
The other generations that are now gone, they were wrong when they wrote about
the evidence that they were living in the end times.

Wasn't 70 A.D. the end of an age..? Is it the opinion of some that man's world/empires will go one and on? This would be a new idea to me.. Or is that it is all believed to be metaphor only? If so where can you draw the line? All prophecies other than those prophesying Jesus are metaphor? What about history? Metaphor also? Or is it simply if we don't understand something we try to metaphor it away? Won't any listeners wonder if Jesus' life, etc was merely metaphor also? Does it all have to be metaphor only?

Daj, EVERY generation from the time of Christ has believed he would return in their lifetime. LOgic tells us that some generation someday will be right.
Poster awhile back said, "Live each day as if it's your last, cuz someday you'll be right."

Consider the image of Nebuchadnezzar - it was a metaphor for the world empires from Babylon to Rome, and on to the lesser successor nations of the former empire.  We live in the time of the toes.  The Stone Kingdom comes next, and I hope, soon.

BTW, if it's not a metaphor, it could be a simile.  :laughing7:

I personally don't believe 70 ad was the end of an age.

Jesus said, "Tear down this temple and in three days I will raise it up'. They thought He was speaking of the physical synagogue.
He was talking about the tabernacle of His body.

When Christ was crucified the age of law was over. Done. The indictment contained in statutes and ordinances was nailed to a tree and "It is finished" was spoken and it was meant. The "work" was done, fulfilled by Christ o the cross by the sheddig of His blood. The sacrifice over, complete.

The new aion involved a transition. It lasted 50 days or thereabout, from the resurrection of Messiah to the day of Pentecost. The chief cornerstone began having living stones fitly joined unto Him, being built up into a "habitation of God in the Spirit'- a new tabernacle, fulfilling, as the law could not, the promise- "and I will be their God and they will be my people and I will live among them and walk among them and I will be their God and they will be my people and they will all know me from the least of them to the greatest of them".

IMO. The new age began either at the resurrection of Jesus or at the day of Pentecost(I prefer the latter). The prophesy Jesus made regarding the fate of Jerusalem which was accomplished in 70 AD was only the burial of the body that was destroyed when He took the keys of sheol and death and made the law of no effect for everyone who believed and became "born of God" by faith. When Jeruslem was destroyed the gospel was already preached throughout the known world and the kingdom of God in Christ was well on its way to becoming the little stone that strikes the feet of Babylon.
The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. http://www.hell-is-a-myth.webs.com/
