funny these 'lone gunmen' only target gun-free-zones.

It's time for no more gun free zones, since we are clearly under attack.

Of all the movie theaters in Aurora, Colorado, the 'lone gunman' and his buds picked the one theater that was a gun free zone.  He passed by theaters that were bigger and closer to his home in order to visit the one theater where he knew no one would be armed.

Had he and his buds visited any other local theater, they most likely would have been taken out quickly by one of the many concealed carry citizens in Colorado.

But, I will agree, thank goodness you are in Canada.

I did not edit that at all.  It tells me that the US (a corporation, not a country) has sown to the wind, and now we are all reaping the whirlwind.  God is still no respecter of persons.  As a Christian writer, whose pamphlets I used to read, said (and I paraphrase), why are your children dead and/or missing?  Look in the mirror...

We don't need government telling us if we can or can't own guns. I believe americans have a right to simple handguns for self protection. I do NOT believe we have a need for armor piercing bullets, assault rifles, automatic weapons, silencers, etc. The guns owned by the shooter in Conn. were all illegal since he was under 21 (State law in Conn.)

This boy broke every law in the book, including gun laws, thereby proving more gun laws will not help.   Five times as many people die each year in automobile accidents.  Let's outlaw cars first.  Guns are banned in Chicago and it's the gunshot victim capital of the country.  Twelve people shot in gun free Chicago LAST WEEKEND.

But, I do prefer the angel defense, myself, and have used it more than once.

I'm with you Molly. Part of the reason I love Texas so much. Very few take a chance that they are going to encounter "helpless victims" in Texas. Everyone carries. As for having weapons equal to the drug cartels? They have those weapons to be superior in weaponry to the cops and feds. We, as citizens would only encounter a heavily armed drug dealer by accident since we aren't dealing drugs, working undercover, or trying to take down the cartel or gang in a raid.

The weapon this boy had was not an assault weapon, btw, as I was told by someone who knows guns, it was a rifle with a cartridge. 

It just looks scary.

A girlfriend of mine just bought one like this because it was easier for her to use.

Probably the same reason the perp's mother had one.

But, this gun is being targetted, so be careful to understand that by 'assault weapons' they want to outlaw rifles with cartridges attached.  This is probably not something any self respecting drug cartel would use.  But, of all the guns she tried, this type of gun was easiest for a woman to use who was just looking for something she would feel comfortable handling.

Reportedly they were both set to testify.  Surely our honest leaders wouldn't be involved somehow, trying to distract or cover, would they?

Sheila, I've read that, too,  but I don't know a lot about it.

But, take a look at this--the map from the Batman movie, Dark KNight Rises.  This is the movie which was playing in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater during the shooting last summer.

We also just suffered through Hurricane Sandy.  Look at this article from the weather channel.  Remember how that hurricane barreled up the coast and took a hard left into NYC?  They are calling it Sandy's Hook here.  And, for sure, that hard left turn was the strangest thing I've ever seen a hurricane do.

Is all this a coincidence?  Satan is the prince of the air.  Maybe you could talk about that, Sheila.   They have been trying to destroy our Constitution for as long as I can remember, and they have almost done it.   There are many evil groups that would love to see a disarmed America.  It drives them crazy that our population is armed to the teeth.  And, these armed are 99 percent law abiding citizens.  It greatly distresses me that anyone would use this tragedy, not even two days old, to push their agenda of disarming us. It is such a cynical use of the precious lives of these children.   That tells you something about the messenger.  At the very least, they were waiting to pounce like anxious predators. They couldn't even make it through one funeral.  Just like 11 years ago at 911.  Within two weeks they were stripping the 4th and 5th amendments.    The second amendment is the backbone of this country.  Do not let them touch it.

Don't sell your birthright for a bowl of pottage and a pretense of security...

Especially when Dark Night Rises is their message to us.
