What has put hell fire out is a better understanding of God, and a fuller comprehension of the quality of God's love. The love of God conquers the assertion of orthodoxy."

Indeed, regardless of what it might appear, God is having His perfect will. What a comfort to know all is in His hands, and yes, even the least deserving. Could it be otherwise? Can God only love those who love Him? Praise God, He loves those who cannot for whatever reason love Him, till like the person being tickled, the one being loved cries uncle. Something you touched upon here that struck a note, or should I say a chord, concerning the "whole world", the entire history of the human race. We have been on the planet for about 150,000 years or so, best as science can figure out. During almost all those years humankind has never known of a coming Savior. What must be the number of souls who have passed through this planetary environs? A trillion? Two trillion? Many more? Almost all of whom had no knowledge of a Savior..........It just doesn't seem fair does it?

Does it seem unfair to anyone that most of the human race has existed feeling doomed & without hope upon the expiration of their last breathe? None of the civilizations that have passed on before us had our creature comforts. Sickness, pain and short life of only about 25 years was the most common lifespan, their cultures often ending when natural disasters & plagues brought about their demise.

So finally when recorded history commenced, the Greeks & Mesopotamia  conjured up their "gods",  all a final desperate cry of mankind for their Creator to reveal himself. Finally he did, but why did it require tens of thousands of years? What was God thinking all this time about us & our pleadings to know from whence we came?

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In my darker moods I often contemplate that people are but grass to be mowed, sheep for slaughter, but even in this I must believe there is something happening that we do not understand. The extent of human suffering and man's propensity for evil that we do to each other is confounding. Why? Is the natural question. I don't have the answer, but perhaps Job does--though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. You have good questions. Anyone got a good answer?

IMO, the way things are between god, people and things boils down to three words: Selfish or selfless

Like yourself Deena, I'm always searching for answers to my questions when also in my darker moods, and I have enough of them. From the pulpits of our religious organizations what we get for explanations are words strung together which form platitudes but do nothing to console our spirit concerning our toil here.

For example, since the 2000 years our Saviour trod the surface of this speck of a planet as it hurtles its way through a vast cosmos, is but a sliver of time compared to our 150,000 years of existence. I find myself doing some math as I'm prone to do ever so frequently, eg, 2000/150000= 0.013=1.3%. In only 1.3% of total years of human existence has our Creator even bothered to acknowledge our existence, so it seems. In all those years we have mostly been left to wander, no imposing presence of our Creator to unambiguously guide us along the way.

So how is it, we were so lucky to have come into this world during this past 2000 years? The statistical odds are against it. The statistical odds  are 98.7% against our being present here & now, subtracting 1.3% from 100%.

I have some ideas about these matters.....but that is about all they are when trying to read in between the lines of certain texts in the book of Ecclesiastes. It all has to do with all things being done in its own time & a purpose for everything under heaven.

You weren't there 150,000 years ago. The Bible makes it clear  that we are from the beginning about 6,000 years ago. God wrote it in stone with his own finger, Christ confirmed "from the beginning, he made them male and female" and you have a big problem with saying that there was death before sin. 2 websites will help tremendously to stop taking mans word over the word of God and there is no conflict with real science.

I know that creation/evolution is a side issue but I cannot let a comment that implies God was wrong and man was right go unchallenged... and please understand I am NOT implying this issue has anything to do with anyone's salvation. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

According to Jesus, by nature, we are children of the devil (John 8:44).
But over and above that are the words that Jesus spoke to the multitude.
"For One is your Father, Who is in heaven." (Matt. 1&9).

As sinners, by attitude and actions we demonstrate that we are children of the devil. But by right of creation, and by right of redemption through Jesus Christ, God is the Heavenly Father of everyone, even Satan (Col. 1:20).

For Jesus is the propitiation for our sins, and not for our sins only, but for the sins of the whole kosmos (Greek). (1John 2:2)

Sooner or later, according to His perfect timing for each individual, God will effectively call everyone out of darkness into His marvelous light, first the chosen generation, then all the rest later. (1Peter 2:9; Col. 1:20)
