Interesting comments and points made.

I don't make any specific predictions about it either - I'm not a prophet or the son of a prophet.  However, IMO, there's too much happening, too much mass blindness, for current event to not be very significant - pregnant, as it were.   :2c:

God will work out the details.

Here is a great piece by Elwin Roach about this subject.    http://www.godfire.net/Elwin/245_The_Watchers.html

As for Obama's dream, I wouldn't be too worried about it, Bill Ayers wrote most of the book, injecting his own persona and experiences into BO's.  Its probably Ayers' dream.

Molly

For they say to themselves, with their misguided reasoning:

"Our life is short and dreary,
nor is there any relief when man's end comes,
nor is anyone known who can give release from Hades.
By chance we came to birth,
and after this life we shall be as if we had never been.
The breath in our nostrils is a puff of smoke,
reason a spark from the beating of our hearts;
put this out and our body turns to ashes,
and the spirit melts away like idle air.
In time, our name will be forgotten,
nobody will remember what we have done;
our life will pass away like wisps of cloud,
dissolve like the mist
that the sun's rays drive away
and the heat of it overwhelms.
Yes, our days are the passing of a shadow,
from our death there is no turning back,
the seal is set: no one returns.
Come then, let us enjoy what good things there are,
use this creation with the zest of youth:
take our fill of the dearest wines and perfumes,
let not one flower of springtime pass us by,
before they wither crown ourselves with roses.
Let none of us forgo his part in our orgy,
let us leave the signs of our revelry everywhere,
this is our portion, this the lot assigned us.

As for the virtuous man who is poor, let us oppress him;
let us not spare the widow,
nor respect old age, white-haired with many years.
Let our strength be the yardstick of virtue,
since weakness argues its own futility.
Let us lie in wait for the virtuous man, since he annoys us
and opposes our way of life,
reproaches us for our breaches of the law
and accuses us of playing false to our upbringing.
He claims to have knowledge of God,
and calls himself a son of the Lord.
Before us he stands, a reproof to our way of thinking,
the very sight of him weighs our spirits down;
his way of life is not like other men's,
the paths he treads are unfamiliar.
In his opinion we are counterfeit;
he holds aloof from our doings as though from filth;
he proclaims the final end of the virtuous as happy
and boasts of having God for his father.
Let us see if what he says is true,
let us observe what kind of end he himself will have.
If the virtuous man is God's son, God will take his part
and rescue him from the clutches of his enemies.
Let us test him with cruelty and with torture,
and thus explore this gentleness of his
and put his endurance to the proof.
Let us condemn him to a shameful death
since he will be looked after - we have his word for it.

This is the way they reason, but they are misled,
their malice makes them blind.
They do not know the hidden things of God,
they have no hope that holiness will be rewarded,
they can see no reward for blameless souls.
Yet God did make man imperishable,
he made him in the image of his own nature;
it was the devil's envy that brought death into the world,
as those who are his partners will discover."

micah7:9

This is not prophecy, but I feel it will fit.
I am not going to use the character of  2Ch 7:14  and My people on whom My name is called be humbled, and pray, and seek My face, and turn back from their evil ways, then I--I hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land. As America... why?
There is such a mix up of what believing in Jesus Christ is. There is too much schism in the Body of American believers, how can a people be humbled, pray, and seek His face when there are so many FACES that they see?
In America, there is a remnant,and other places in the world... and they are humbled, and pray and seek His face, this remnant  perhaps now is understanding this word... Exo 5:18  Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the number of bricks.
The Lord HAS a remnant and that remnant shall prevail, HE said so.  I am in no way even considering that the person now who is POTUS is a just, or honorable man. I do not believe this, this is the first president, in my life time, that as a Marine veteran of Viet Nam, I cannot give respect.
But I try hard to keep my American emotions down, and not mix it with my stand for Jesus Christ. To mix the two is oil and water, for me. My citizenship is in a higher place. Php 3:20  For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

I especially liked this part of the link from RHM of Elwin Roach's, and goes along with micah's post -

"God chastises whom he loves because he knows: pride comes before the fall, and humbleness and brokenness is the only condition he responds to. We personally sense we need to tell you: the destiny of your nation is in God's hands, not yours. It is not at all about Obama or Romney, it is about God using all the nations in the world according to his global and unchanging plans. Did you ever allow the thought that God in his sovereignty is using Obama like a pawn on his chessboard to humble the US as a nation because he wants to show his grace to a nation gone completely self-sufficient? A nation that is so full of independence, individualism, nationalism and trusting a greed- and fear-based economy that there may be only one way open to heal it from its idolatry and re-align itself with the Kingdom of God: a crisis beyond anything that America has ever seen?

In 2008, God was challenged by a man standing up in public, preaching to the cheers of a huge crowd: "Yes we can!" We watched it; we saw the tears of excitement in the eyes of the people; the statements were received as if coming from the Messiah himself, and the electoral rallies had all the flavor of a religious revival. "Yes, we can" is the exact opposite of the King of kings saying: "Without me, you can do nothing!"

So what is there to fear, brethren? Even if this basest of men is a cunning serpent and brings the U.S. to her knees, along with the world, as many believe will happen — the most High, the Lord rules in all the kingdoms of the world."

Barack Obama is no more than a fly in the ointment of our worldly hopes and dreams :o)

For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh,
    Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

The part where he says the watchers have brought this elections result through prayer is the experience I had sometime during the election cycle. I had been praying for pretty much anyone but BO. I was in the spirit when this changed and I was given a word that brought me into alignment with this. I remember it was before Bo was leading. It was still while ron Paul had a "chance".

Bo was made to bring the country down. He's not a real person but an empty suit. The elites think they can continue with their global agenda untouched. They think Barak is their man. He is nothing more than a tool in the hand of the smith. Oh they will bring our society to its knees but they will be hung on the gallows they've built for us. Out of the death of our economy society and way of life will rise the Sons of God. All creation is groaning with eager anticipation.

I think our society is bringing itself to its knees by its  lust and greed and hedonism, and in the church, the salt has lost its savor.

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways the I will hear from heaven and heal their land

...... who are His people, Americans? No, the children of God. If the people of God in this country were to repent and seek the Lord with a whole heart.......

"Except you repent I will come and remove your lampstand from its place."

I believe God raised up America for the two purposes of 1) destroying Hitler and binding Stalin while providing a Cyrus for the re-establishing of the nation of Israel and2)for raising up a lampstand for the gospel. When this stage of the restoration of all things comes to a close, He will call us into account for our stewardship of His blessings, grace and power.

"You have been weighed in the balance and found wanting."

Why are we still being covered by grace? The cup of our iniquity is not yet full. God has not forgotten the blood of our fathers that was shed by Him in rescuing His people Israel from the hands of Hitler and Stalin(twin horns adversary). And there is still a remnant of the righteous interceding for the land.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water: Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
(Isa 1:16-23)

IMO, The two party system in America disappeared into a nationalistic oligarchy under Bill Clinton. It made no difference whatsoever whether Barack Obama or Mitt Romney were elected. This judgment began decades ago, intensified under George Bush and is perhaps being filled up under Barack Obama. But it is not because of Barack Obama.

I believe God is dealing with the ecclesia(the called out ones, the church) in America-"Where else must you be stricken as you continue in your rebellion....the temple of the Lord has become like a watchmans hut in a cucumber field". "It is time for judgment to begin at the house of God with the elders at Jerusalem."

When God raises storm clouds n the horizon, it is to give a last chance, an appeal from His people based in an awakening of repentance.

Joel 2:14-17  And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Who knows, He may return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?

   Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

   Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar
, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

(Joe 2:11-17)

The Lord will maintain His own testimony. He isn't worried- He is ahead of the event horizon. He is merciful, slow to anger and patient in kindness, granting time for a renewal among us of an awareness of what His purpose is.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
(Joh 13:34-35)

We are supposed to be the salt, but instead it seems that we have become like the nation that surrounds us.

Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Yet, it seems to me that Amerika (the only way I can spell it nowadays) has been in decline since 1948, slowly at first such that you hardly noticed, and now we are going to "Hell" on a rocket sled.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

IMO, my citizenship is in heaven and I am a "stranger in a strange land"
This is almost nothing like the USA I was raised in.

Back then, people at least pretended to keep away from evil.
Now they deliberately flaunt their sin.

"christianity" and western society grew on the mantra of manifest destiny.  Literally attempting to bring the kingdom of God, manifesting their destiny as God's chosen people to bring the kingdom of God to Earth (much of it driven by British Israelism).  A noble attempt.  Misguided as to what the kingdom is IMO.  killing the indians, and enslaving the blacks wasn't ever part of the kingdom, well the Hagar kingdom, of Ishmaelites.

Ishmael:
"He shall be a wild ass of a man, with his hand against everyone, and everyone's hand against him; and he shall live at odds with all his kin."

But, there have been people from both kingdoms in this country since the outset, just like the rest of the world since time began.

Red,
I wonder if these "beat others down" Christians felt they were superior because they were white and had been "especially chosen" to believe in this life? In a way, this is an indictment against the ET doctrine of exclusivity. :2c:

No, that's all incidental.  God raised up America to be a standard to the world - all about freedom and religious liberty - and to spread the Gospel to the nations, which it did along with Britain, more than the rest of Christendom.

Personally I find my self at fault when I get into talking politics, I feel I am a Libertarian and when I get on this forum I am attempting to learn and hopefully leave a good word on the offering of the Word of God. I really try and stay quiet, and will admit I am weak at staying out of a good verbal political donnybrook, and hate myself afterward.
But seriously, wouldn't it be better to have a slot called.. Re: Politics today or Re: Current Events and then my opinion would rarely if ever be heard. Mixing politics and religion I believe is harmful, and imo has nothing to do with walking in the WAY. :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: Just a thought. :dsunny:

While part of my personal theology is akin (but only akin) to "British Israelism," the result of Amerika's national theology of Manifest Destiny shows (once again) that you cannot establish the Kingdom through the agency of the Arm of Flesh.
