This morning, I was slogging thru Matthew, there being a lot more to cover than in the OT, where pages and pages might go by without needed comment. Of course, I am speaking of my work on "Heaven, Yes - Hell, No."
Anyway, I got to Jesus versus the demons who begged to be allowed to go into the pigs, and realized that these demons, and people possessed by them, were popping up all over - BUT I could not remember reading of them at all in the OT. What gives? What are these things, and where did they come from? They are not explained. It seems to be a complete mystery. :dunno2:
Jesus come to expose the works of the devil
Being the LIGHT of the world
the world sat/sits in darkness and the LIGHT COME and the world/ darkness comprehended it not .......
This is why the DAY star / Angel / messenger of GOD [perfect witness ] rises in our hearts , and cleans house , the dark and dirty old house /man
You will find alot of this LAZ ,,, ...4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
s
Matthew 5:15
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.[IN YOU]
John 3:19
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
imo the revelation of Christ also has to do with with His revealing of hidden things..making an open show of them, and triumphing
over them.openly exposing hidden things. Part of the 'breaking up" the works of the devil....is to expose them.

As the dawning of a new Day comes like a thief in the night ! ...
..it also has to do with ...the 'mystery' of iniquity/lawlessness...for which the law was written for the lawless....
Thou hast preparest me a table in the presence of mine enemies.
Amen.. Rose and Sheila :iagree:
I think in the Old Testament there were only signs and clues of the underlying powers of darkness.. principalities and powers, god of this world.. such as witchcraft.. summoning the dead (Samuel?) the the angel in Daniel 10:20 "soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come" seems to me to be a reference to a principality..?
But in the New Testament Jesus "made an open show of.." visibly "overcoming"
..."Jesus of Nazareth, accredited by God by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through Jesus.." Acts 2 .."God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles' Heb 2 [ https://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=by+signs+and+wonders&qs_version=NIV ]
this is also shown in David and Saul's account...Saul/anointed one that was rejected....at the table with David,a man after God's own
heart.....a bad spirit come upon Saul..for He was rejected of God[if you do good..will you not be accepted?[Cain/Abel]sin
croucheth at the door..and seeks to master you,but you must master it.
the religious leaders of the day were rejected of God...the true anointed/heir ..man after God's heart; was present.......and 'bad'
spirit's were masters/fathers of the rejected. the love of God is not in you..ye seek to do your father's will..why are you trying
to kill me?...killers,robbers,liars etc=bad spirits/original serpent.
Now Judas[picturing son of perdition/lawlessness] sat at the table with Jesus[prepared in the presence of mine enemy]and the satan
entered him[mankiller/robber and theif from the beginning]
part of the law covenant curses for disobedience was your children being possesed by evil spirits/demons.
...this curse for disobedience was built into the tree of KOGAE...the evil[sin] entering through disobedience
God made man for His spirit to dwell in..tree of life...and forbid Adam from partaking of it[commandment unto life]
Jesus reverses the curse...stops the 3 day death plague at the threshing floor....fulfill's the royal law.institutes a better
covenant.
Babylon become a cage of unclean birds..=every foul evil spirit that preys.....
Atonement performed by Jesus....God's goat[body of sin/man] and Azazel's goat=goat shaped demons of the wilderness that the
High Priest confesses all the sins of the people onto..and it is lead into the wilderness and pushed over a steep cliff/with legs broke
so that it may never enter the Holy city again..............this is the legal authority Jesus had as High Priest making atonement....
tied in to the rebuking of satan..casting out evil spirit's. Repentance and confession of our sins works in this cleansing process.
though your sins be as scarlet..yet ye shall be as white as snow[red yarn turn white]
heartfelt repentance and confession is a pleasant aroma unto the Lord on His altar
Amen Marie ! Great scriptures and thoughts
GREATEST SIGN ..... JESUS Nailed openly on His cross , the turning point
Col 2 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us;
and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
15When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.
16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--...
Satan adversary ,the accuser , liar and murderer spirit ..... cannot do this if The grace of God though Jesus Holy Spirit ] forgives sin / error , trespass
I would say more but feel its to much about the hell [Gehenna ]part and grave etc prisoners etc .
Why did the demons say that they didn't want to be destroyed?
"What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!"
Mark 1:24 NIV
http://bible.com/111/mrk.1.24.NIV
Pharoah won't let go.....as a representative of the Prince of this world....his heart hardens and he refuses to allow Israel to go a
3 day journey into the wilderness to offer up sacrifices pleasing unto God[wicked generation that perishes in the wilderness]
...this power and principality desires that men remain slaves and servants of sin.[the releasing from captivity for disobedience]
thus....God begins working the plagues against the Prince of this world..to 'let my people go" in Revelations...and as we see
these things..we are to lift ourselves erect..and look up...as our deliverance draws near.
shall the hammer exalt himself over He that wields it?
..because it is written..He shall destroy those who destroy the earth.
the earth is God's footstool.....He did not create it simply for nothing[vanity] He made man for His spirit to dwell in....
and I will walk in them[O;Immanuel] Same reason Jesus said 'Destroy this temple and I will raise it on the 3rd day." speaking
of His body."

Very interesting and I am with you on the :dontknow: I do not find "demons" in the Bible, I do find "devil(s)" in the OT 4 times with interesting definitions. And "devil(s)" in the NT and can see how we come to use the word "demon." :Peace2:
:cloud9: The people of the Book went through regular "deliverances" in that they confessed their sins to the priest and did a sacrifice. Therefore there was a different way set up by God to deal with them in the OT and it was only available for the Jews or those "God-fearers" that associated with them. As long as they obeyed Him, they were not likely to need anything else. My :2c: Blessings....
 Bex
I was "delivered" from the Pentecost denomination and just the word ""deliverances"" sets off an alarm. :HeartThrob: :Peace2:
 I know what you mean. There seems to be 'trigger' words for me,too.
I think trigger words are a sign of mental programming. TV programming? Is that why it is called "programming"?
All these posts, and I still have no idea what these creatures are. I even decided that alien greys are demons, but where did they come from, and how did they come to be? I'm just glad the Lord Jesus is on our side!
These things are an angel, just on the bad side of things.
There are heavenly beings we have yet met.
Christ went into the heavenly temple after his crucifixion.
Ephesians 3;9,10 " To make plain to all what is the administration of the mystery, which was kept hidden for ages in God, Who created all things, in order that now, through the ecclesia, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms."
Eph 2;7 " In order that in the coming ages He may show the incomparable riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus."
In the O.T Jacob wrestled with an angel.
The law was given to us by angels. The Jews knew this because Stephen brings up that point before being stoned.
Acts 7;38 " The same came to be in the assembly in the desert, with the messenger who was speaking with him in Mt Sinai, and with our fathers, [he who welcomed living utterances to give to us]."
Acts 7;53 " Who indeed received the law through ranks of messengers, and did not guard it."
Galations 3;19 "Why then the law? It was added because of the transgressions until such time as the seed should come, to whom the promise had been made, and was given in charge through messengers at the hand of a mediator."
In Hebrews Christ was made a little lower than angels.
Plus we have a great cloud of witnesses around us.
Satan will be thrown from heaven with his angels; they will be imposing as angels of light.
2 Cor 11; 13-15 " For such as these are false apostles, deceitful workers, transfiguring themselves into apostles of Christ. And no marvel! For Satan himself does transfigure himself into a messenger of light! Therefore no great thing if his ministers are also transfiguring themselves as ministers of righteousness! Whose end shall be according to their works."
In Revelations satan will be cast out of heaven. I.M.O this will be the antichrist coming to be in the temple, just claiming to be Christ.
He will have angels impersonating people claiming to be people of the past, just will be demons/angels in images of those people who are dead.
I used to attempt to cast out demons along with my brother. He claimed to have a vision of the need to do this.
I am now reminded of the seven sons of Sceva. They attempted to cast out demons.
The demon said to them, ' Christ I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?'
Then he drove them out naked into the streets in terror. [Acts 19;13-16]
I draw strength from the statement of Col 1;13 " He has rescued us out from the tyranny of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son."
2 Separate kingdoms. Both in this world.
Perhaps we hear of them as demons in the New Testament, because Jesus was the one who could truly recognize them for who they were.

Jesus/ the salvation of God come down , ascended into a lower state , putting on flesh and blood and experienced being human ... [ and is still with us in our being human ]
and suffered greatly , Because JESUS CHRIST was conceived of HOLY SPIRIT , showing us How birthing the Christ is done [examples in the 4 gospels ] and how all the flesh and blood and spirits that dwell in flesh and blood vex the ONLY TRUE AND HOLY ONE of GOD
Saying this because He said , when a man goes seeking God , and looking for a sign of God in the world .. this is what happens to him , instead of waiting on the Lord to Come to him ...
matt 12 Return of an Unclean Spirit
The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
Jesus Christ in the fulness of Gods wisdom and LIGHT , knowledge of the Father arrived ... The New covenant /agreement was set in Place that great Stone of stumbling and Rock of offense that all would dash their foot upon ,, the foot and the feet represent teaching to me the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST PEACE .. remember Moses had to take off his sandals when he stood before the LORD ON HOLY GROUND .. promised land .. and was rejected for exalting himself and striking the Rock / the Lord Jesus Christ twice and did not get to enter the new Kingdom of God after all the earthly experience of being a leader of the people , but wait patiently on the Lord to come .
Back to the spirit in a man or
spiritsmore than one , in mankind , looking for the waters of Life freely
43 "Now when the
unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through
waterless places seeking rest, and
does not find it....
44"Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came'; and
when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order. This place of being
empty prepared by the Lord and as Paul spoke of making one a chaste virgin [pure ] mind for Christ Holy Clean Spirit to come and dwell with them ? His head & authority to rule the whole house .. what is within you ...
45"
Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and t
hey go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.
That is the way it will also be with this evil generation."
What unclean spirits and the fulness of seven [ being completely full of ] are running that HOUSE ?
We are supposed to belong to the House of God !!
It is appointed for man to die once and then the judgment the spirit in a man must die so Jesus Christ Spirit can rule the house , in adam all die and in Christ shall all be made alive , all in that house will live ...
Hebrews 9 Redemption through His Blood
...26Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now
once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this
comes judgment, 28so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,
will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
waiting on the Lord , He come first to us as an offering for our sins and when the house is clean and empty and waiting on the Lord to come this 2nd time
as we wait on Him , patience is throughout the WORD ... our faith in Him holds us till the Lord comes for refreshing ..
The whole house will be blessed And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and
you shall be saved, and
your house.
We are a city set on a hill , we are a house, we are his trees planted by the waters , we are the LORDS possession etc ....
There is no doubt to me that evil /unclean spirits come and vex us all to death , when the SPIRIT OF LIFE suffers for the wicked ones
Bind and gag them unclean spirits in a man Mark 5 Devils vexing spirits Cast into Pigs
1They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes.
2When He got out of the boat, immediately a man
from the tombs[ tombs of dead men's bones dry wickedness ] with an unclean spirit met Him, 3and he had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even
with a chain;...He believes Jesus and is set in his right mind ,,, and fear fell on them all
Jesus the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven and servant of all frees this man of the unclean spirits all robber and thieves before Him '' ....
One thing for sure when you look at
the cross you see the robber and thieves one to the left of JESUS CHRIST IN THE MIDST and one to the right , and the one asking for Jesus help because he knows what he is and needs Jesus and is saved by Jesus mercy on him , nothing is ever said of the one blaspheming and wanting him to be a sign , Jesus by prove yourself , take yourself down and me too if you are the True Jesus Christ ....
Can we see how it is ?
:cloud9: There are abuses of any doctrinal tenet, but that doesn't negate the tenet. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
A lot of people don't realize that when they came to the Lord, the reason they no longer have any desire to do some of the things they did before, is because they went through deliverance (s) of the things in their flesh that created the desire in the first place. He only reveals what is necessary to anyone at the time, and some of it depends on their level of fear and/or understanding, and later, maturity.
I think some of it is also His mercy, in that we're held accountable for what we know, and many would never seek to go through another one if they knew what it was, for various reasons, much less share it with their brethren who also need it, which would bring them into accountability. My :2c: Blessings....

It is interesting that you mentioned that. I have heard a lot of Christians say they don't struggle with certain sins but I have never experience that. I still struggle with the same sins nothing really has change except I know that they are sins. Is anyone here on the same boat?
" I still struggle with the same sins nothing really has change except I know that they are sins. Is anyone here on the same boat?"
Yep; still struggle.
Difference being the desire to change is ever increasing; fortunately the key being that Christ covers everything.
Paul talks about his struggle in Romans 7; Then makes the statement of statements in chapter 8
There is NO condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.....
For me, the concept of taking up the cross daily is the reminder of being paid for IN FULL by Christ. His faith has saved me- mine is being developed as He leads and corrects. The flesh is always there till the resurrection, so will always have these temporary setbacks.

There is a dimension that many people never see or understand--
The Full Armor of God
...11Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm....
--Eph 6
King James Version:
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
"wrestle"
Strong's:
πάλη
another form for G906); wrestling
Derivation: from πάλλω to vibrate;
Thayer:
1) wrestling (a contest between two in which each endeavours to throw the other, and which is decided when the victor is able to hold his opponent down with his hand upon his neck)
1a) the term is transferred to the Christian's struggle with the power of evil
So --we are in a match with an opponent, and one of our weapons is to vibrate against them.
God creates the world through the spoken word, the vibration of his voice. All speech is vibration.
And God said, "Let there be light..."
Creation through vibration. Music also is vibration and we are given a new song to sing when we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. This experience was not open to most in the OT. Some had it, like King David, but most did not. Moses would go away for a few weeks and they would forget everything they had just witnessed with their own eyes--pillar of cloud, pillar of fire, seas parted, miraculous salvation--all gone as though it never happened. They are unable to hang onto the high vibration of the miracles and sink back into the slow, sluggish, low vibration slavery of sin.
We are not yet like Christ--the one on whom the Spirit alights and does not depart. Paul tells us we must wash daily with the word.
5:26 So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word,
Commentary:
Ephesians 5:26 tells us that we are cleansed "with the washing of water by the word." There are things that will be cleansed—things in our minds, things that deal with conduct, things that have to do with character and attitude—that are cleansed by water. The word "water" here is symbolic, referring to the Word of God, as well as to the Holy Spirit.
Does this imply that we are now perfect and never sinning, never attacked by principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places?
No.
It implies we are daily overcoming through the washing of the word and the wearing of the armor of God, so that we can vibrate a new song, which so doing together will change the world! Through Christ we are more than conquerors...
1Sing to the LORD a new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth. 2Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
--Psalm 96
Living Sacrifices
1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect...

I know not all believers agree, but I believe they are (the) fallen angels (who "left their first place" and are now "in chains of deepest darkness" locked into judgment - locked into judgment, imo, because having left their 1st place/estate of perfection and now being imperfect, they cannot in any way reverse their course making their selves again perfect - what with being not only imperfect, but downright rebellious and workers of evil!
Revelation 12, which I believe is an insert and a whole history on its own - history of the faith. In it is Herod the Great, altho indirectly, as he was used by the dragon to try to devour the Son of man when born, but instead of the dragon destroying Him He is lift up to the right hand of God.. at which time, war in heaven/half the battle was won and satan&co were no longer allowed access to the heavens.. the dragon was angry at this and persecuted (inquisitioned) the faith but it was given the two wings of an eagle for a 2nd (major) migration of the faith to a new place-(for context)
Jesus said I saw Satan like lightning fall from heaven.. this was the fall, imo, not the battle with Michael and his angels in rev 12, when the dragon&co were cast out of heaven (as to be thrown i would think is different than falling)
At the end of Revelation chapter one it says "the stars are angels"
The dragon dragged 1/3 of the stars with his tail... metaphor for? imo, dragged 1/3 with him in his rebellion, his falling away from God and into imperfection (of character!)
Today, while Jesus is not in advent, just like in the Old Testament, people did not outright observe or see the fallen angels (dark entities I sometimes think of them.. grey men/shadows I believe are of these fallen messengers/angels.. untrue messengers..)
"the god of this world" .."principaltities and powers" ..we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities/ruling forces/prevalent spirit(s) ...
darkness "God is light and in Him is
no darkness at all"
I believe every negative thought or impulse, we can rebuke it in the name of Jesus. "According to your faith so be it.."
"Lake of fire prepared for
the devil and his angels"

I have heard a lot of Christians say they don't struggle with certain sins but I have never experience that. I still struggle with the same sins nothing really has change except I know that they are sins. Is anyone here on the same boat?
I'm thinking they are likely minor, as opposed to major sins or flaws-like murder, fraud, oppression..
The reason the wage (result, consequences) of 'little' sins is the same as for the big ones, is because (imo) God is perfection (and also life) so imperfection is the opposite of God/life/perfection.. so the wage is still imperfection/death/nonlife. Simplicity, but man has many inventions..
And I think we all struggle with flaws.. And remember the churches lump some things under the column of "sins" which the bible makes no mention of.. "God made wine/hebrew "fermented" to make merry the heart of man" but! "woe to those who follow after strong drink/drunkeness for in the end it
bites like a serpent"
Just saying,
as an example, the churches may forbid any wine at all, but the Word simply tells us
the truth.. Albeit not all things are useful.. Not trying to encourage wine.. just making an example of how the churches have added on a bit..
But if we are living a life of habitual sinning, without training the mind to be subject to God's Spirit and Word, via the washing of the Word/truth, then the truth is not in us.. I.E. a preacher who seduces women or a priest who is a pedophile is not (imo) a true believer!
I'm going to say something totally shocking here.. I don't believe we are supposed to go around flogging ourselves mentally and spiritually.. If I should cuss, I breathe a prayer of sorry to the Lord.. and then I forget about it.. Some things indeed can be more of a struggle.. smoking cigs.. being overweight.. whatever.. are still what I would think of as not major sins (which major I believe usually do more harm especially unto others)
I think we all struggle with being imperfect.. (otherwise, i guess we'd be perfect, which for now, would surely lead to imperfect! for pride would be sure to raise its ugly head)
I don't know about others, but my flaws sure do work to make me humble. I think the truest measuring rod we can use to measure ourselves by.. is love. Do we love? For God is love. "Draw near to God.." One rule, love God. "Be being filled with the Spirit" of God.. God is love. The answer to all things is
more of Jesus...

My biggest flaw now is NOT judging anything before the time GOD openly exposes it for what it is .
Being patient and waiting on the Lord working in you too give cause and not letting the tongue , that fiery little member be tamed of the Lord , jumping the gun so to speak :sigh:
Paul died daily as to getting a hold on them offensive things of the carnal mind that is an enmity to the Holy Spirit of grace in those whom he dealt with and the very warring within himself ..
1 Cor 15 30Why are we also in danger every hour? 31I affirm, brethren,
by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord
, I die daily. 32
If from human motives I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me?
If the dead are not raised, LET US EAT AND DRINK, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE.... I am convinced the Christ in you rises up in victory over all the enemies , that daily battle from the moment you committed to serving the LORD and confessed Him as your Savior !!! Greater is He that is in YOU that in the world !! :HeartThrob:

I don't think it is just to say that a person who is a pedophile or a seducer is not a believer. It almost feels like God expects us to be almost perfect before he accepts. Its like trying to be fit, someone can spend hours, months or years trying to get fit but fail horribly. You tell yourself you can do it but you keep failing. You do have a training coach but he is long distance and can't really help you when you are at your weakest. Eventually you get frustrated and just quit. Does this mean that you were never trying to be fit?
In this case does this mean I am not a believer if I habitually sin or I give up on the race?

You can be judging yourself before the time , none can see the forest for the trees , when dealing with personal sin , that tree and those in the way of seeing the Big picture , the Forest ... GOD not only sees the big picture , He made it and all in it , something out of nothing but His Word spoken .
Like the race , dont sweat the small stuff , many have gave up just from stubbing a toe , that is no reason to quit ..
Take time to tend to it and get back in that RACE !!  Today is a new day Lord fresh and clean ...
just remember...we are all sinners saved by grace. Those poor in spirit[ye have no life in yourselves] He made rich in faith.
the token of the spirit He gives us..is sown in corruption. Love is the perfect[ion] bond of union.
the faith, hope and love remains....and is raised up in incorruption. The faith in Him to finish this good work He has begun in us,
and all His creation....the hope in us of His raising us up in incorruption...and the Love that will perfect these three strands in a
perfect bond of union with Him. And He shall draw all men unto Himself with this rope of loving-kindness.
Remember the PROMISE....and His WORD..and His spirit that does not return unto Him void...but fulfills His purpose.
take heart...the battle is the Lord's...and He has overcome....the victory is assured.
keep putting up with one another in love/now does that sound like your'e dealing with a perfect sinless people?
no.......but the perfection is of the spirit, the bond of love that keeps putting up with one another
God's love is testified to..by His sending his son..to die for us while we were yet His enemies..our love is testified to that we
will listen and keep in our hearts His sons word to us..from the Father.
'you may be judging yourself before the time" awesome thought Rose. are we judging ourselves before His finished work in us.....
before we are raised up in incorruption, maybe? Satan's works are already judged in us/the prince of this world is judged.......
that His works are wicked. Could we in reality be judging God's work? before He has finished it?
if our own hearts condemn us...He is greater than our hearts.......

But if we are living a life of habitual sinning, without training the mind to be subject to God's Spirit and Word, via the washing of the Word/truth, then the truth is not in us.. I.E. a preacher who seduces women or a priest who is a pedophile is not (imo) a true believer!
Here's my take on your question. Once coming to a real awakening or salvation experience I went through years of struggling trying to "Be Perfect". Sometimes it seemed I was doing fine and began getting that "Self-Righteous Holier Than Thou Attitude" against others. Then I'd fall miserable because of one reason or the other. I had problems and thought God was unfair. Without admitting it I was really mad at God so there were times I just continued to give in to the works of the flesh and didn't care if God cared about it. I justified my actions because I thought God unfair. Then eventually I'd get so miserable and feel so dead inside I'd be calling out to God in desperation to pick me up again. Sometimes it seemed He waited to do this until I just wished I was dead but really wanted to live. Then suddenly His Spirit would come to my rescue. I could sense his presence and his love and it felt just like a first love again. I hate to admit it but this happened at least 3 different times and some of those times lasted quite a while. Never once when he lifted me (my soul) up did he ever recall or upbraid me for my failure or outright rebellion. All I ever felt at those times was his extreme pleasure in me as his child. I was quite ashamed of my bad behaviour but it was like the Prodigal Son story. I wanted to rehearse my failures and He just loved on me. Each time that happened I began to be More Merciful and Less Judgemental of others who were not perfect. I began to understand His Great Grace and it was awesome. Those experiences humbled me kind of like old Nebuchadnezzar. I believe from my experience that once you have a salvation experience and know the love of God you might fall-you might quit-you might give up--BUT HE WON'T. You will be like the children of Israel and in time you will get so miserable if you are on purpose rebelling you will cry out until He comes and rescues your soul again. You will appreciate his Love more and his Grace more. You will be less judgemental and more forgiving realizing He Never Fails Us. :2c:

This is something He gave me to simplify things and change my attitude years ago. When your toddler was outside playing in the mud, and came in looking like a chocolate bar, chances are you didn't beat them up, yell at them over and over again about the same thing, and you probably had a good laugh about it after their 2nd or 3rd bath. :mock:
God looks at His children the same way. He's a lot more patient with us, than we are with each other, especially ourselves. Wash yourself off, tomorrow's another day. Blessings....

I love this. I often notice situations with my own kids and then will get a lightbulb moment that this is how God is with us, his children.
Sometimes my son (who is 3) will be having big tears over a limit I have set (like, no you can't have chocolate right now), or something of his own doing (like he threw his toy and broke it) and I will look at the anguish in his little face over this silly little thing, and reach my arms out to him...he will still be mad and will run away...and I will just wait...eventually he will come over and melt in my arms. My arms were outstretched but he couldn't feel my love, he was so upset about the silly little thing (silly in my eyes not his).
Hi Lazarus, I don't think I'm getting off topic when I write the below because as I read all the good posts, I still get the feeling you're looking for an answer that hasn't yet been given. Maybe I'm wrong but I'll just share my 2c anyway and maybe it will help. I haven't logged on in a week or so because I've been busy and I felt led to check in real quick and saw this post, so maybe something to it idk.
I've looked into what the Bible teaches about demons over the years, and in fact felt led to do so, and came to some rather unconventional conclusions. I'll be as brief as possible.
It appears, scripturally speaking, that demons and fallen angels are two different things. Summary would be to say that fallen angels, spiritual beings which do not change (i.e. created beautiful and perfect retain beauty and perfection but are darkened); whereas demons, grotesque, ugly creatures appear to be some sort of hybrid creation, possibly the spiritual/soulish offspring of whatever took place at the beginning of Genesis 6. After these giants died, their souls and/or spirits left to wander the earth. I do not suggest that the Bible clearly teaches this, I am simply sharing my understanding after looking into it somewhat extensively, as led by the Spirit. I wouldn't even mess with the topic if the Lord didn't lead me to look into it for whatever reason.
And not to get too far into it, but the grey "aliens" I understand to be some form of engineered body for these particular wandering spirits. We know from the story of the Gadarenes that they seek flesh to inhabit, and they keep getting kicked out of their human hosts since the victory of the cross...
If this is totally unrelated to your question I apologize, but I think I'm on the same page with it. In any case, the Spirit of God can satisfy the questions you have as you keep searching. He gives wisdom without reproach. God bless :)

He seems to believe UR so i started watching his videos looking for answers to what i went though. I found one video interesting he thinks that "demons" (kind i experienced) are the disembodied evil spirits from the nephilim that were killed in the flood. A lot of his theories seems to match with what i had experienced so i think he might be on the right track.

She suspected it was the demon that had got her nephew a few months before her (long creepy story). God told her and I quote, "You created it out of the hate and murder in your own heart."
I have no explanation for just "how" that works exactly, but I know for a fact she hears Him, and that's what He told her. Gives new meaning to the scripture about eating of the fruit of your own lips, (they possess you by going down your throat).
I also believe that the so called "aliens" are the nephalim, reserved in chains of darkness until the end, and have been loosed, because it's their time to be. My :2c: Blessings...
Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbouring towns, which indulged in sexual immorality in the same way as the angels pursued unnatural desire, are exhibited as an example by undergoing punishment of age of fire.
Yet in the same way, these people also relying on their dreams defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones.
But when Michael, the archangel, in debate with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to condemn him for blasphemy, but said, ' the Lord rebuke you'.
Behold the Lord comes with 10,000's of his holy ones to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly acts, that they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the harsh things that ungodly men have spoken against Him."
These people are grumblers, malcontents, who follow their sinful desires, their speech is arrogant, they flatter others to gain advantage.
But you dear friends, must remember the predictions foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how they said to you,
' In the final age there will be scoffers driven by their own ungodly desires. These are the ones causing division, worldly minded and devoid of the Spirit.'
But you, dear friends, build yourself up in the most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourself in the love of God as you wait the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ to grant you age of life.
This makes for an interesting study!
The word translated demon is the same as the one translated devil, G1140-daimonion (demonaic G1139)
In the Old Testament - 8163 "shaggy from 8165 - he-goat" and 7700 - "shade, from 7736 - to swell up (insolence, devastate)"

Lev 17:7 - "and they sacrifice not any more their sacrifices to goats after which they are going a-whoring; a statute age-during is this to them, to their generations."
Deut 32:17 - "They sacrifice to demons -- no god! Gods they have not known -- New ones -- from the vicinity they came; Not feared them have your fathers!" ('gods' of the nations)
2 Cronicles 11:15 - "and he (King Jeroboam) establisheth to him priests for high places, and for goats, and for calves, that he made.."
Psalm 106:37 - "And they sacrifice their sons And their daughters to destroyers,"
In the New Testament -
"cast out demons" "under the power of demons" "driven out demons"
Matthew 8:16 - "When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick."
Mark 1:34 - "He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him."
Matthew 9:34 -But the Pharisees said, "It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons."

From ISA3 interlinear version (program) and the CLV version,
Jude 5-8 - "Now I am intending to remind you, you who once are aware of all, that he Lord, when saving the people out of the land of Egypt, secondly destroys those who believe not.

You guys are awesome :) what a great place to seek the Lord and His truth together.
Cardinal, I believe what you shared about "created with your own lips..." is indeed from the Lord. I don't understand it yet but that is the direction I have been contemplating for some time as to unclean spirit origins. I think it must be a mistake to lump everything in the kingdom of darkness under the term fallen angel, as that just leaves us open to ignorance and deception. I appreciate your sharing that I find it very helpful as a testimony that the Lord can and will fill in the gaps in our understanding that He wants to fill.
And thanks marie for the good word study and everyone else who contributes. I know it's not my thread lol but I just wanted to express thanks :)

WOW! We make them ourselves?! Internal, not external - it somehow reminds me of Hell, which always comes down to "the other guy" going to Hell,
NOT ME. Truly, we have met the enemy...and he is us.
:cloud9: @ marie.....you know what came to mind when I read the last line of your last post, is where Jezebel painted her eyes before she went out to get the men to kill Naboth. :Chinscratch:
@ strainer.....The Lord dropped something into my spirit one day. If you understand that we all need deliverance from evil spirits (yes even Christians) ie. working out our own salvation with fear and trembling, then this will make sense to you. The things listed as flesh, ie. lust, fear, ect., are evil spirits. I believe demons are fallen angels.
I have shared about what happens to the soul at death. But there's another side to that coin. The things in us transfer to our offspring, so we are surrounded by what we didn't overcome (at the time of their birth anyway) while still in the body, even.
So truly we reap what we sow, and truly a man's enemies are those of his own HOUSEhold (first his own house-body, then who surrounds him he gave birth to).
It also made it even more plain why we must forgive them, because we ourselves birthed it into them and for us to be free, we must not judge them, or we ourselves will be judged by the same measure. It's the same measure because we already meted it out to them. Bet this is why Job made sacrifices for his children all the time. He knew his accountability and was trying to obtain mercy for them and for himself. My :2c: Blessings....

By gosh I believe you have it! The adversary is here and as a roaring lion seeks to devour. Still a "demon" is the Devil, satan, serpent, that old dragon are one and the same, the devil is a traducer, and accuser it dialogues/channels with and through the carnal mind which is weak and filled with imaginations that can be and are twisted. :2c:

He gave me something else on this. Everything is to be compared to the Tabernacle pattern, which is the pattern of heavenly or spiritual things, according to Hebrews 9. So this shows up in the Tabernacle pattern as well. If you understand that the 12 loaves of bread the priests eat are representative of the names/natures of the 12 tribes that form Christ in us, such as Joseph/He will add another who precedes, Benjamin/son of my right hand, then it's not hard to see that the eating of the bread with the light of the candlestick (true communion) forms the veil, which veil we are told is Christ, before the Holy of Holies.
This veil, had cherubims in it. Their name means IMAGINATIONS OR IMAGINARY FIGURES, and they were woven into it (as one) by command of God. This veil must be rent in us just as it was rent in the temple, by the hand of God, because no man can come to the Father except the Father call him.
This is Christ in us, the veil was made with the colors of royalty and the trinity colors (red, blue and yellow/gold; from these 3 all other colors come in the natural) and the cherubim are rent as well. They are heavenly/spiritual creations. These imaginations keep us from passing through, what they are designed to do, because no man will be able to say I did it and take His glory. So it puts the entrance squarely where it belongs, to the will and pleasure of the Father. This means He has allowed these things to keep us out, until He desires we enter.
However; just because we create the evil spirits, doesn't mean Satan and his angels are not real entities. The nephalim desired the women for their reproductive abilities. The soul is like a womb, capable of reproducing whatever seed is planted in it. The evil spirits are the reproducing of the natures of the demons, just like the fruits of the Spirit are His natures expressed. This is why the woman, the soul, is to have a covering (Christ). Blessings....
"Although the King James does not use the word "demon(s)," At numerous places in Scripture the word "daimon"--meaning 'demon' is found. Example, the word "devils" found in Matt. 8:31 is 'daimon' in the Greek manuscripts. Various English Versions translate 'daimon' into "demons" rather than "devils." But "demons/daimons" are never, ever translated "angels."
:cloud9: Maybe it's because they went from being "messages, messengers of God" to "knowing ones, ie. one with flesh" as in Adam knew his wife and they were one? Blessings...
very good stuff. I will need to pray through this later, I feel a lot of good spiritual stuff to chew on. So much opportunity to gain understanding, thank you all for sharing. Very helpful.

There are two reviews ..
You must be pretty convinced Laz .
I have never read this book , but it is considered worth the read .
Now my sister Pam whom is though the vail , Told me of some strange blue orbs following them from driving in her car when she was young
I do not recall all the info she shared but it scared her and was pretty shook up and the passengers with her
I wish could recall more , I cannot , my carnal mind would not allow me to think it was anything more than vain imaginations
I regret being so wise in my own eyes now :sigh:
The carnal mind will never understand the things of the Spirit it is impossible for man to believe God without Gods help in convincing us though the Holy Spirit of Truth .
One day I was walking inside my house and began to think on the scripture about being raised with Christ in Heavenly Places in Christ Jesus. As I thought on this I thought if that was true then Satan and His Demons wouldn't be there so I must be fighting something or fearing something in my mind. I told the Lord I believe if I'm really raised then it must be memories or thoughts I was perceiving as real. Suddenly what I felt as oppression was gone and my struggle with devils and/or demons ended. I was almost fearful of the great peace I began to experience since it felt like walking in another realm.
Taken from the King James Version: Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the Earth, in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The King James does not have the word Nephilim in it. It's found in newer bible versions. Notice it says THERE WERE GIANTS IN THE EARTH IN THOSE DAYS and it also says AND ALSO AFTER THAT. It then goes on to say the sons of God came into the daughters of men. They became mighty men and men of renown.
Now I personally believe those sons of God and daughters of men are used as metaphor for the thoughts of God and the thoughts of men. The Giants in Those Days were just like the Giants After That (our modern days). Those Giants representing modern day traditional religion and those five smooth stones David took from the brook represent the True Word of Grace that struck him in the forehead. Modern day religion is our Goliath and the message of Grace in it's fullness will bring him down. The Giants had 6 fingers and 6 toes and the number for man is six. I think this is to show that the Giant was a thing of man's doings. (Religion)
That is what I believe and I don't believe it's got anything to do with sexual intercourse except in the mental realm. Taking the thoughts and words from God and twisting around with them in the bed of mans carnal mind producing the giant religious institutions and dogmas of the day.
I believe that Nephilim as we read about are also the imaginations of men and fictional creatures as they try to reason naturally what Genesis 6:4 is saying.

I need time to review this thread more but the Lord gave me some pretty profound revelation last night as I prayed on this. It appears He drew me to this thread to open my understanding on several major points, so thank you to all who have shared. My time is limited but I'm looking forward to reading and praying on the rest of this, and hopefully share edifying comments.
But check this out, I hope I'm not repeating someone that may have mentioned this earlier in the thread but "...when lust is CONCEIVED it BRINGS FORTH sin..." So it appears the origin of unclean spirits and sin may be integrally related biblically speaking. I say this because of the many things that began to come to light last night through this line of thinking, and that is often a sign and confirmation in part of the Spirit'S revelation. Anyway, there other things I will try to add later because i'd like to get some input to assure avoidance of error. Sorry for brevity, appreciate u all. Blessings.

I believe that Nephilim as we read about are also the imaginations of men and fictional creatures as they try to reason naturally what Genesis 6:4 is saying.

intercourse in·ter·course
ˈin(t)ərˌkôrs/
noun
communication or dealings between individuals or groups."everyday social intercourse"
synonyms: dealings, relations, relationships, association, connections,
contact; Knowing God confounded the languages in Babel
That no one would enter the door except though Jesus Christ ,,
Son of God all that come before HIM were robber & thieves
I have understood it to mean , Those whom bow the knee to Christ will confess this , that is surrender to the TRUTH ..
the reason 6 is man's number is that the first five commandments have to do with loving God[your Father and Mother of your spirit]
and the 6th commandment on has to do with loving your fellow man as yourself. satan failed to show fellow love unto Adam and Eve
when he decieved them and led them into disobedience.
the evil contrast spirit has the power to twist the word of God..and put such thoughts into the mind of man...just as the Holy spirit
is able to put desires and will's within our mind to do the pleasure of the Lord.
in some of the lost books they expose this...the evil spirits teaching man to make weapons of war of iron etc...and teaching man
all this destructive stuff...the mankiller from the beginning and liar originates in this evil contrast..as also slanderer of God who
impuned God's motives unto Adam and Eve as less than pure and selfless.
you will wittness the fruit of the works of the devil in man..just as we wittness the fruits of Holy spirit in man....
just as God's thoughts are higher than man's..so,too, the kingdom of darkness's thought's are darker than any earthly darkness...
diabolical..when it comes to torturing and causing great destruction and suffering.
the vanity the creature was subjected to..is the vain imaginations of the evil contrast that he would thwart the will of God toward man.
that he would place his throne above the stars of heaven...and that he would as a spirit be just like God..and show himself a 'god'
so thus..the god of this world/prince of the air would take God's position[throne both in heaven and earth] an impossible thought.
it is an impossible thought that this tool/adversary would be victorious over God.
Michael stands up[who is like God?] and all your people shall be delivered.
surely, the vain imaginations originate in the original serpent.
I also believe it goes a lot deeper than mentioned Shelia .
A spirit ina man is unclean or defiled when the law of God is not present in there hearts , to me , he lives for himself , ECC 2 just read and see how Solomon expressed having it all and still empty without God to fill him , it takes the Spirit of God to teach us this .
I believe there are many whom gather unclean spirits and group together
and them calling it god ,,, those are the works of their own hands and minds
I am convinced conviction is from the Holy Spirit and until Gods Spirit is working in a man , as God seeks those to worship Him in Spirit and truth many unclean spirits gather within and without .
and Jesus really did give an excellent clue as to what spirit is ruling us ... When telling James and John the sons of thunder , that they themselves did not know what manner of spirit they were of , it was of violence , not love and salvation , but destruction, if they did not take heed to their cause .
evil causes harm not help ...

:cloud9: I agree I definitely think He wants this fleshed out more for us. I will share this too and I haven't before. Last year I was praying for my grown daughter one night and He was giving me the names of evil spirits to cast out, which is pretty normal, that's how it works. Well, He opened up her spiritual ears and she HEARD the voices of the what I had just commanded to leave her heart, and they said, "That's ok, we'll just go hide in her WOMB." To say both of us were stunned was an understatement. I saw the shock in her eyes, I know she heard it.
I started praying HARD about how is this possible???! What came out of it, was the concept that both areas, heart and womb, must be prayed for and cleansed, because they have a "legal" right to stay in the womb, as the mirror image of the mind where seed is planted. In men, it's the organ where their seed is. Transference from both sexes then occurs to offspring, or to whoever you are one flesh with. No wonder all the admonitions about not committing fornication, and why we are told to bring every thought into captivity to the mind of Christ.
There is seed, root and fruit. Fruit is what is apparent in this realm after seed and root have not been dealt with. This principle is why often people get delivered yet they after even a long time, go back to what they were delivered of. The root was dealt with, just the fruit, and as any gardener knows, if you cut off a tree and leave the stump, it will send off new shoots. Peace
I personally dont think Legion originated in the sins of the madman of the gadarenes. I also don't think this spirit was caused by the sins of the child it infested.....
The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can."
And He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood." It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!" And Jesus said to him, "'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes."...
When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again."...
To me this indicates that what was cast out of the boy was an entity that could re-enter if Jesus hadnt commanded it not to, and seems to have nothing to do with sins.
I do believe sins can open doors to demons, but I dont think that is always the reason they are there. I do not believe that demons are the corporeal manifestations of sins, or that they grow out of sins and become what they are. That is just my perspective of the issue, as i read the scriptures, and have some experience with demons.

I see this as an illustration of what becomes of the lukewarm. Fire/Holy of Holies, water/outer court. Not either or, lukewarm to be spewn out of His mouth until mercy comes.

Have had a chance to re-read thread. Crapped a couple crackers, feel pretty inadequate lol. In any case, look, I may be this or that mature or immature but I sincerely appreciate all of you. I could seriously go on for pages of flaming boredom but the signs of the spirit working in each and causing me to contemplate this or that is readily evident. Having come from the proof text I am right training I wish I could express my appreciation better. But short story it is evident the Lord Himself brought me here. Cardinal, many thx. Marie, same. Ross, rosered he1myheart I seriously don't know what to say. Sometimes to me (and maybe God?) It is worth more to read the responses in humility than to know the black and white of the matter. Is it not true then, than THEY WILL KNOW WE ARE CHRISTIANS BY OUR LOVE? Truly you all in this thread are testimony of this, and I say this in freaking tears forgive my dramatics but this journey has been lacking in that and the experience itself is almost worth more than the black and white parsing of truths. I must break for now bc I am at a bar with friends, invited to accompany, but reading this to pass the time and literally tearing up and about to burst just from thankfulness for the example of love. Here is my heart, may the Father be pleased. I love u all.

Greater Glory in New Temple

Has he started to shake the nations? A river of people are on the move invading the western Christian countries. Has he started to shake the heavens? The demons are being unleashed and manifesting themselves in all manner of evil acts by men.

Meant to touch on the scripture you quoted above. He told me lust is desiring ANYTHING apart from His perfect will for the individual. Everyone automatically assumes it's sexual, but that's not what He's getting at. Just throwin' this out there.....Blessings...

Interesting. So what happens if you don't know his will for you. How would it be a sin if you happen to desire something else. Why is it a sin to desire things like a good book or movie?

Hi Axerex ,
You can do His will when you are doing things like reading a good book or watching a movie ,
Do you stop loving God when you are doing those things ?
Do you stop loving one another ?
Does God stop loving you when you do those things?
Jesus said I come to do you will oh God the whole meat of the matter , and faith is that very substance of getting it all in motion
Without it , we can never please God .
Aerex--No one said it's a sin to desire a good book or a good movie. You are only responsible for "The Light or Understanding" given you by the Spirit of God.
If you sense in your heart that "HE" does not approve of some book or movie then choose something different. For example if you were to pick up a porn magazine do you think the Holy Spirit might be grieved and you might feel like you'd be ashamed to read it with Jesus sitting next to you. If so choose something else.
You can't go by legal rules or someone else's conscience because that's legalism and you will lose any Joy you have in Jesus. I know because I went down that road too many times. It's a killer!
If you are wanting to walk with Jesus you just want to please Him. He's not against a good movie or a good book or even music that isn't Christian music.
I think what CARDINAL is trying to say-she can correct me if I'm wrong- is that if you love Jesus you are going to want what he wants for you. That is what you will naturally do as you follow "HIS" promptings in your own heart.
He might lead some folks to fast quite a bit to be more sensitive to His Spirit and others may not be led that way so for those others trying to follow the first persons spiritual discipline would not produce the same result. They would be miserable because they are trying in their own strength to please God or earn favor. If it is the Holy Spirit prompting you to any discipline you will have Peace and Joy in following him and you'll sense his pleasure.
I hope this helps as it took me way too many years to accept this as a truth. If you want please go to my website www.gentletouchcreationsministries.com and under the poetry section read the poem "WALKING ON EGGSHELLS"

I just wanted to add some are still under the old law of dying to self , that ministry of death
Like you said we try in our own strength and fail miserably
and some have already been though that baptism of water
It is also the grace of God that the new and living way comes though Jesus Christ , His law is LOVE GOD FIRST and your neighbour as yourself all the law and prophets are hung on them two laws ,,, the old is fading away and the new is coming in Christ ... taking up our cross and following Jesus where ever He leads us by faith and not by sight ... :HeartThrob:

I do agree Brother !!
I know it is appointed unto man to die once and than the judgment Hebrews 9
Redemption through His Blood
...26Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world;
but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once
and after this comes judgment, 28so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,
will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
I do believe that is under the old law [covenant] working yourself to death by the work of your own hands ,only to give up
as one dead waiting for Jesus to deliver you out of the body of death [ Moses ] Jude et in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties. But Michael the archangel, when
he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Only the Lord Jesus Christ can rebuke satan against us !!
You have past from condemnation / judgment death to Life Romans 8 1
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death....
You have pasted from death to Life 1 John 3 ;14 Love One Another
...13Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. 14
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren.
He who does not love abides in death. 15Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him....
Jesus is the Lord of the dead and living the cross of Jesus Christ and taking up our cross and follow Him ....
Romans 14 Do Not Judge Your Brother
...8
for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord;
therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. 9For to this end Christ died and lived again,
that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. 10But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt?
For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God....
Lots to consider when looking to Jesus Christ for the truth , His Word is truth :HeartThrob:
:cloud9: Good posts.....I've always prayed for His perfect will to be done in my life. Sometimes that's not an easy prayer to walk out, but we know that all things work together for good for those that love the Lord.
So an example of NOT doing that, would be the premiere example of Eve, a type of our soul. She DESIRED (lust of the flesh) the fruit, it looked pleasant to the eyes (lust of the eyes), and good to make one wise (pride of life/self-gain). By these 3 we fell, and overcoming these 3 via His Spirit, we will be raised to walk with Him in the cool (means breath) of the day again.
Contrast her reaction with Daniel's who said he would not eat the PLEASANT bread. Blessings....
Well y'all I think we did "church" pretty well this morning-er I mean we assembled together pretty well on-line this morning.
:dsunny: :dsunny:   :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:

Whatever demons are, Praise is one of the best ways to keep them far away :o)
Imaginations...not imaginations as foolishness, but imaginations that are real yet vulnerable to the Holy Spirit...the Mind Of Christ.

Let's talk about this for a second. Most of our conscience has been trained from religious dogma since our childhood. If this is the case how can we can trust our conscious. For instance, you brought up pornography saying if Jesus would approve of me reading it. Okay but can you honestly Jesus was a sexual being? We can't be guessing what Jesus would or would not approve.
All in all, you can't trust your heart either.
The key here is what Jesus said was the greatest commandment: to love your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. The rest will sort itself out. I read that yesterday while going thru Matthew as part of Heaven, Yes...Hell, No. It's slow going - no more of that knock-out-a-minor-prophet per day.
Aerex-
I agree with Lazarus's post just above this one.
The question you just asked I also struggled with for years. The best way I have to answer you is that if you are sincerely wanting to walk with Jesus
things will become more clear to you. The more you fellowship with him- in the scriptures and in just quiet times with him it will just work itself out in you.
I'm sorry if that seems like a lame answer but that's the best I can do at this time. I'm 68 years old and have had plenty of wrong religious doctrine and
believed way too much junk during those years (some in outright rebellion) and he still bit by bit-revelation by revelation brought me to a resting place In Him.
He will do the same for you as you seek Him. I sought religion way too much trying different churches and denominations and non-denominations which made my journey a very long one. It's was more like the children in the wilderness-slow going and full of doubt and unbelief. That is what that religious system of man is full of. Jesus by the spirit will speak something to your heart (a revelation) and you'll go to a church and hear everyone believing something else and that wars on your mind. That was a big problem in my journey as it is for many folks.
He wants you to to see him as the best father you could imagine. If you had a good or great natural father it would be helpful. If you did have a good father you probably didn't worry about every single thing you did if he was going to be angry or mad at you. You just grew up bit by bit and learned what he was or was not pleased with. You probably shared things with him and he with you as you grew. That is I believe how God wants to walk with you in my best opinion.
If you had a bad father image and an often critical and overly stern father (as I did) it takes more time I think. The reason I think that is because of growing up understanding a very conditional love. Totally performance based and it kind of trains you to respond that way to God. God will change you since that is
the spirit working in you-somehow he will get his understandings to you even if you are slow to catch on like me. I really was a spiritual basket case for many years and thought it would be nice to just be normal. I prayed that way. God just make me a normal Christian so I too can have some peace and joy and rest.
His idea of NORMAL was much greater than mine. Through many trials-many ups and downs-He brought me to a place of Rest In Him.
Do I still have days of trials-yes! Do I always know 100% what to do-you must be kidding-heck no! But you see I have come to realize the most important thing is that I'm His and He Loves Me. It's all going to work out because HE LOVES ME. It's because of that finally becoming the greatest understanding in my heart or mind-being 100% convinced of that- I can enjoy him more and have rest in my soul.
I'm sorry if this is not the understanding you need. No one could really get this across to me for years. My wife tried to convince me of how to rest IN HIM but
old habits die hard. I wish there was a quick fix but the bible seems to show it's a learning process and the process can sometimes-no always-be filled with tribulation-we learn obedience by the things which we suffer. Who Are These Arrayed In White Robes-They Which Have Come Through Great Tribulation!
:dsunny:  :dsunny: ( I'm going to take a break for a week from the Tent so if you ask me anything it will be a week before I can answer you.)

"Let's talk about this for a second.
All in all, you can't trust your heart either."
You can't trust your heart, true.
I also don't think we should be living our life based on "what Jesus would or would not approve" without feeling convicted. That is why people fail when they "try" to be "good."
If you desire pornography (not saying that you do, the "you" here is just for illustration purposes because it was used as an example), and you resist it because you want to do what Jesus would approve, then I am sure your mind will wander and you will have lustful thoughts. And then you will try to suppress them...we all know how well that works.
We also don't have to guess at what Jesus says in this particular instance because:
Matthew 5:27-28
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Like He1MyHeart said, it is a process, a prayerful process, not on our terms but on His, where you are shaped from the inside out and made new. There will be a point where you truly won't desire pornography.
If you want to use the law of love, then you can also think it through this way: how does pornography fit in with loving God and your neighbor? There are lots of resources that will tell you that people who are prostitutes, porn stars, strippers, etc. were often previously sexually abused. They are sexually exploited and abused in the sex industry as well. The people involved don't love each other. Then there are the issues of sexually transmitted disease, unplanned pregnancies that result in abortion, etc.
Finally, a good thing about believing in UR is that you don't have to spend your life worrying about being "right" or "good enough." "All have sinned and fallen short"... but we can look forward to when "God will be all in all."
I truly believe that no human on this Earth has all the answers. No one can say they are doing everything right, believing all the right things, etc. etc. That is what I believe the purpose of this life is. It is not to earn our way to God...it is about learning what it is like to live apart from God, doing things "our way." God is letting us work it out ourselves to show us good from evil and as a learning process. A few of us are blessed to get a glimpse of God here on Earth, and to begin to walk with God and follow his will. It is part of an awesome cosmic plan that doesn't seem that way yet :)

Imaginations...not imaginations as foolishness, but imaginations that are real yet vulnerable to the Holy Spirit...the Mind Of Christ.
:Peace2:
You said and mouthful there Micah

I came across this vid and found it interesting because i seen shadow people before i was attacked
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x06vMamtcb0
when I was 8 yrs old..and my little sister was 6 we saw them, too. I had no concept of demons/ghosts at that time in my life.
However, I had heard of the term 'you must be seeing things"..and so..for 7-10 nights..I would watch these things..never told
a soul about it..and figured that I "must be seeing things" until one night..my little sister freaked out..and when I asked her what was the
matter..she replied 'those things!" We woke our Granma up..she, of coarse, didn't believe us..turned on the lights and inspected all
the nooks and crannies to assure us nothing was there. and that was the last of it.
that was back in 1963.
:cloud9: Interesting. Glad to hear him proclaim the name of the Lord. A lot of the people who talk about these sorts of things aren't and their ignorance and unbelief in the Lord coupled with from bad to worse "advice", just adds to the problems people being faced with these sorts of things.
I, too, have seen shadow people. When first saved, my friend and I would pray every day asking the Lord who to go witness to. We did this for months. One day, He told us to go to my friend's sister. We got in her car to leave, and 2 shadow people jumped up out of the earth in front of the car, and jumped on the hood, and we HEARD the thump as well. We were stunned into silence for several minutes, until I finally said, "Well, there's something you don't see every day. Now what the heck was it??!"
We still went, and found out we weren't sent for her, it was for her daughter who had been dating a Satanist for a year (her mother didn't know) whose mother was a self proclaimed witch. Sharing our testimony to her and her two daughters at first brought snickers and rolling eyes, but the Spirit finally broke through the hardened hearts of her two daughters, and then the truth came out, much to the mother's shock.
We assumed the hood jump was to try to scare us off. It didn't work. We went through constant spiritual attack of one kind or another, while we were witnessing, but that's the only time we saw shadow people. Peace
