Witness

just a bit of explanation to all of you.  i am a busy woman, so I copy and paste all quotes to myself and take them with me to answer as led throughout the day. then when I come here to post, there are usually more posts up since I last viewed the forum.  i just leave those to consider for my next batch of answers.

so, CHB, your question came in between batches, and I am answering more now.

you wrote:

Well!! thats a new one on me, and I thought all the time we received the Holy Spirit through God?

i am speaking of receiving from God, as you should know. I backed this up with examples from the Scriptures (citing Paul receiving through ananias, and showing that those who received since Pentecost in the bible received through a man).

Witness, I have a question? Is Paul C the only man that we can receive the Holy Spirit through?

CHB

you can't receive the Holy Spirit through any man of God, because you are in unrepentance and disobedience.

Acts 5:32 MKJV  And we are His witnesses of these things. And so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.

scott, you say:

Sven it is not what Paul beleives so much as his judgments of everyone here that was the problem.

those are only a problem, Scott, if you are not able or willing to repent or to answer them in truth.

reformer, your post #259 demonstrates simply that you don't know what you are talking about.  you can theorize all you want, but until you know the truth from God, being and growing in Him, you simply don't know.  one day you will know this.  here is the quote that you tried to answer from Paul:

Men that do not know God are still in their sins and cannot bring one to God

paul did not say, "men that do not know of God," he said, "men that do not know God."  you are speaking of knowledge. paul is talking about relationship.  you don't have that relationship, so you don't know what he is saying.

you wrote:

I notice when it comes to the light these guys claim their supposed discernment is only for the evil: who does not know God or who is not saved.  They have no light for the good, only for the evil.

I gave a lot of light in my answers to many here- demonstrating to everyone what great and wonderful and glorious things God has done in my life.  I did this in order to say that if you will repent, you (all) can have this, too! what greater light is there to share?  but you only see it as darkness.

2 Corinthians 2:15-17 MKJV
(15)  For we are to God a sweet savor of Christ, in those being saved, and in those being lost;
(16)  to the one we are the savor of death to death, and to the other we are the savor of life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?
(17)  For we are not as many, hawking the Word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

taffy, you quote Paul and ask:

He and his family are greatly suffering the ravages of sin, as do many on Tentmaker

Care to expound ?

are you not aware of the many illnesses and troublings that afflict many of your members here at tentmaker?  take a walk through the "Prayer Room." you even wrote a number of the posts!

this is not "black propaganda," peacemaker, it is the truth. see for yourself.  you think the things recounted there demonstrate the blessing and abundant life promised by God?

reformer (#263) those verses in 1 Corinthians 7 are speaking of a man and a woman.  there is no way you can say they are talking about masturbation unless you are adding to the Book.

Revelation 22:18 MKJV  For I testify together to everyone who hears the Words of the prophecy of this Book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add on him the plagues that have been written in this Book.  [are not the evidences of these plagues already made clear in the "Prayer Room"?]

paul h. (#264)- you need to demonstrate biblically how i have no idea what I am talking about, since i spoke to you from the Scriptures.  your opinions aren't scripture.

taffy (#265)- your post makes no sense. it appears you are lacking the sound mind that it says the Lord gives to His people.

your quote from titus:

Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

actually speaks in favor of what I was saying. how can anyone defend masturbation while denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and while living soberly, righteously, and godly?

nathan (#266), i neither rebuked nor disdained anyone here.  i simply gave scriptural evidence that masturbation is not godly.

I agree, cardinal (#267), that masturbation exists because a man or woman prefers his or her own body either to his or her spouse or to living celibate.  since I readily confessed to all of you my past bondage of masturbation and told you that the Lord released me from that bondage, how then does this apply to me?:

Judgment begins in the house of the Lord, and we are to judge ourselves first, lest we be judged by the same measure.

paul H. (#268), you write:

Someone coming from the standpoint of being addicted to masturbation has shown me that this religious instruction is also in error.

if you are saying that someone addicted to masturbation showed you that masturbation is OK, why would you take that person's word for it, especially when he/she desires to continue in his/her masturbation without feeling guilty? will you listen to a thief who tells you stealing is OK?  which will you believe, the Word of God or the opinions of a man?  I am giving you the Word of God.

many here seem to take the position that unless you can show this teaching (that masturbation is wrong) to be wrong, there is no alternative than for an addicted person to live in guilt for the rest of his life- guilt you believe to be unfounded.  But I am pointing to the Solution to this guilt- the Lord! He released me from that addiction, so that I would struggle no more, because the sin was taken away from me.

you say, paul:

I see a vile affection with this ministry that witness is involved in and when someone reads vile affection typically they will think of sexuality.

"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts" (Galatians 5:24 KJV).

the Lord gave me a vision recently that showed me that these kinds of speculations on tentmaker are very lustful, the equivalent of spiritual masturbation. You are pleasing yourselves with carnal spiritualizing that's evil.

you also say:

When a vile affection is many things, one is getting pleasure from the religious condemnation of others while sowing seeds of cursing and fear.  I know they get pleasure from it because they relate it in justification to their walk with Christ and claim they have the truth.  that makes them feel good in the walk deep in their heart knows is darkness.

you don't know what you are talking about, and you don't know that what you are saying is true for us (and it's not).

you need to back up all your statements with facts, both from our words and from the Bible. i can say that we find all of your behaviors vexing and disgusting - not a pleasure at all to deal with. but it is a glorious thing and great honor to speak the Truth.

chb (#270), you write:

(Lev. 15:16-17) It doesn't say this is a sin, just that it is unclean. Just like it doesn't say it is a sin if a woman has a blood issue but it says it is unclean (Verse 19-30).

I never said an ejaculation is a sin, i said it was unclean. it is a sin, however, to fantasize lustfully, inducing that ejaculation. and even if one is very good with controlling his/her thoughts, playing with fire leads to getting burned. it is written in the Law that a man can become unclean for the sake of his wife, or may have a nocturnal emission, but those who have the conviction of the Holy Spirit know it is not a good practice to masturbate.

you also write:

Witness, do you practice the things that are said in verse 19-30 when you have your period? According to what you have said it is a sin for you to have your period if it is a sin to masturbate and you must offer burnt offerings and all sorts of things to become clean again.

If you are under the law and break the least, then you are guilty of breaking the whole.

it is a sin for you to put evil words in my mouth. I have no control over my period, but you decide if you will masturbate. big difference. you are right that breaking the least equates to breaking the whole, and you need to repent.

I (and we who believe) are not, however, "under the Law." we have been given by God to keep the spirit of the Law (which is what Jesus was talking about when He spoke of what it is to look at a woman with lust). that is why we know masturbation is wrong.

as for the menstruation rules, yes I do keep those, by taking measures of keeping myself and my surroundings clean with an awareness I didn't have before coming to believe.

in this question:

You did not answer my other question about receiving the Holy Spirit. Why?

I suspect you are echoing my statement to WW that he could not answer my question.  he had responded to my post.  I had not yet responded to yours, for reasons laid out at the beginning of this post.

sven (#271), do you still not see masturbation forbidden in the Bible after the scriptures I gave?  read my post #261.  of all people, I cannot condemn you for masturbating. you do need to know, however, that there is a better way for those who believe.  the Lord can deliver you if you turn to him in repentance.

"my purpose is not to become friends.  my purpose has been to ask about Paul being kicked off your forum, and to present some points and questions that I found to be very applicable.  (if there is anyone interested in the truth, we would naturally be friends.) since then, my point has been to answer those who are talking to me, bringing up various scriptures and comments that need to be answered.

Sarah, you could have red my introduction post wherein I described myself as a young woman. no big deal."

:mblush: my bad. I am rather a little spacy and do not have as much free time on my hands to be diligent and go back and re-read posts to consider your sex.

Anyways, perhaps I lumped you and Paul in the same basket. You are right, you came to defend his ability to be here. Which though in a sense makes you 'in the same basket'. It seems you are over here just to pick people apart with your testimony being your foundation and justification for doing so. I also have a testimony. I also have witnessessed true miracles by false prophets. I stuggled with this for a long time thinking they were from God because of the miracles and the true prophecies that came to pass in my life.  But one morning I woke up with 'Deuteronomy 13' clearly on my mind. I hadn't read the passage or wasn't aware of it.

1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder,
2 and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, Let us follow other gods (gods you have not known) and let us worship them,
3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.

This tells me that all miracles are from God, but not all miracle workers are. We will know them by their fruits; love, joy, peace, longsuffering, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control and goodness.

A large rose-tree stood near the entrance of the garden: the roses growing on it were white, but there were three gardeners at it, busily painting them red. Alice thought this a very curious thing, and she went nearer to watch them, and just as she came up to them she heard one of them say, `Look out now, Five! Don't go splashing paint over me like that!'

`I couldn't help it,' said Five, in a sulky tone; `Seven jogged my elbow.'

On which Seven looked up and said, `That's right, Five! Always lay the blame on others!'

`YOU'D better not talk!'said Five. `I heard the Queen say only yesterday you deserved to be beheaded!'

`What for?' said the one who had spoken first.

`That's none of YOUR business, Two!' said Seven.

`Yes, it IS his business!' said Five, `and I'll tell him--it was for bringing the cook tulip-roots instead of onions.'

Seven flung down his brush, and had just begun `Well, of all the unjust things--' when his eye chanced to fall upon Alice, as she stood watching them, and he checked himself suddenly: the others looked round also, and all of them bowed low.

`Would you tell me,' said Alice, a little timidly, `why you are painting those roses?'

Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two. Two began in a low voice, `Why the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a RED rose-tree, and we put a white one in by mistake; and if the Queen was to find it out, we should all have our heads cut off, you know. So you see, Miss, we're doing our best, afore she comes, to--' At this moment Five, who had been anxiously looking across the garden, called out `The Queen! The Queen!' and the three gardeners instantly threw themselves flat upon their faces. There was a sound of many footsteps, and Alice looked round, eager to see the Queen.

First came ten soldiers carrying clubs; these were all shaped like the three gardeners, oblong and flat, with their hands and feet at the corners: next the ten courtiers; these were ornamented all over with diamonds, and walked two and two, as the soldiers did. After these came the royal children; there were ten of them, and the little dears came jumping merrily along hand in hand, in couples: they were all ornamented with hearts. Next came the guests, mostly Kings and Queens, and among them Alice recognised the White Rabbit: it was talking in a hurried nervous manner, smiling at everything that was said, and went by without noticing her. Then followed the Knave of Hearts, carrying the King's crown on a crimson velvet cushion; and, last of all this grand procession, came THE KING AND QUEEN OF HEARTS.

Alice was rather doubtful whether she ought not to lie down on her face like the three gardeners, but she could not remember ever having heard of such a rule at processions; `and besides, what would be the use of a procession,' thought she, `if people had all to lie down upon their faces, so that they couldn't see it?' So she stood still where she was, and waited.

When the procession came opposite to Alice, they all stopped and looked at her, and the Queen said severely `Who is this?' She said it to the Knave of Hearts, who only bowed and smiled in reply.

`Idiot!' said the Queen, tossing her head impatiently; and, turning to Alice, she went on, `What's your name, child?'

`My name is Alice, so please your Majesty,' said Alice very politely; but she added, to herself, `Why, they're only a pack of cards, after all. I needn't be afraid of them!'

`And who are THESE?' said the Queen, pointing to the three gardeners who were lying round the rosetree; for, you see, as they were lying on their faces, and the pattern on their backs was the same as the rest of the pack, she could not tell whether they were gardeners, or soldiers, or courtiers, or three of her own children.

`How should I know?' said Alice, surprised at her own courage. `It's no business of MINE.'

The Queen turned crimson with fury, and, after glaring at her for a moment like a wild beast, screamed `Off with her head! Off--'

`Nonsense!' said Alice, very loudly and decidedly, and the Queen was silent.

The King laid his hand upon her arm, and timidly said `Consider, my dear: she is only a child!'

The Queen turned angrily away from him, and said to the Knave `Turn them over!'

The Knave did so, very carefully, with one foot.

`Get up!' said the Queen, in a shrill, loud voice, and the three gardeners instantly jumped up, and began bowing to the King, the Queen, the royal children, and everybody else.

`Leave off that!' screamed the Queen. `You make me giddy.' And then, turning to the rose-tree, she went on, `What HAVE you been doing here?'

`May it please your Majesty,' said Two, in a very humble tone, going down on one knee as he spoke, `we were trying--'

`I see!' said the Queen, who had meanwhile been examining the roses. `Off with their heads!' and the procession moved on, three of the soldiers remaining behind to execute the unfortunate gardeners, who ran to Alice for protection.

`You shan't be beheaded!' said Alice, and she put them into a large flower-pot that stood near. The three soldiers wandered about for a minute or two, looking for them, and then quietly marched off after the others.

`Are their heads off?' shouted the Queen.

`Their heads are gone, if it please your Majesty!' the soldiers shouted in reply.

`That's right!' shouted the Queen. `Can you play croquet?'

The soldiers were silent, and looked at Alice, as the question was evidently meant for her.

`Yes!' shouted Alice.

`Come on, then!' roared the Queen, and Alice joined the procession, wondering very much what would happen next.

Obviously, a very good question, C.

And the unrighteous judgment is based on what? CHB, have you told "witness" that you don't believe in Jesus and are living in open, willful rebellious sin?   If not, then, don't worry about someone judging you and believers in direct opposition to scripture.  Is that obedience?
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

TIS why I asked the question Witness,, ive seen you many time lurking the Prayer room, so this is NO surprise.

So Lets get this Straight-
Sickness\infirm = repayment for sin , anyone who is Sick\Infirm ARE sinners?

Ya may have overlooked what was mentioned to you before.

Jhn 9:1 And as [Jesus] passed by, he saw a man which was blind from [his] birth.

Jhn 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

Jhn 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Now as for sinners  and those  things that offend ,  Just how many folk do you see walking around without Eyes , Hands and Feet ?

Ill leave this , as I dare say there will be other comments, to your words. :sigh:

not only quoted that but others which relate to it...as these do below.

Not Only  my Post\posts, but the post of others make no sence to you , why should this one be the first., what you dont understand or agree with you dismiss out right , as for SOUND Mind, thats another topic.

Note , Our Converstion ,Pauls words KNIT, and bear testimony else where-

Ephes 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature **the children of wrath**, even **as others**.

The Tongue is an evil little member, WHICH boasts great Things speaking Great swelling words,My post was In relation to the Lust ( desire) of the Mind ,

Ungodliness\wordly Lusts are  very much in relation of what folk speak of..., From the abundance of the HEART the Mouth speaks, it speaks mans wisdom in relation to the law, that which is beneath, OR ,it speaks from a New Heart and NEW tongue, and those things above, The New Covenant, Prophsying as the Did the Apostles HIS NAME.

NOTE again in regard to the tongue.
Isnt Titus about folk who crept in unawares, they being of the Circumcision?...well yes they are

2Ti 2:16 But shun profane [and] vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Also those who spoke the form of righteousness\Truth Rom 2:19

Rom 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression.

Tis a short version

Jam 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.

i see you can't answer my question, WW.  the only thing you can do is make up words, put them in someone's mouth, and then blame him.  where do you find that in the Scriptures?

here is what I find:

Matthew 26:59-61 MKJV  And the chief priests and the elders and all the sanhedrin sought false witness against Jesus, in order to put Him to death.  (60)  But they found none; yea, though many false witnesses came, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came up  (61)  and said, This one said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.
:laughing7: That kind of twisting/manipulation won't stick on me.... It only proves you have no answer to my claims.
Clearly you still have no clue what I'm saying, or simply are avoiding something you don't like.
The verses you quoted are yet another proof you have no clue about what I actually wrote. One last try you can again avoid. Step by step this time.
Jesus isn't in this thread so please allow me to slightly change the verses in true and false witnesses.
Paul claims he is the true witness. All who oppose his teachings are false witnesses. Correct so far?
If 2 persons have different views at least one of them is (partly) wrong.
What I'm seeing on this forum and Pauls forum is that two persons 'fight' each other with verses.
Many false teachers will come. Maybe all on this forum are false teachers including Paul C.
Maybe he is the only false teacher. Maybe he is the only true teacher. Are you a true witness or a false witness?
Then this is what I meant by the circular reasoning in my earlier post:
Paul is a true teacher. Therefore everyone who proves him wrong is a false teacher.
That is only true if he can prove he is the true teacher.
Is he a perfect teacher like Father/Son/HS? If the answer is no he should be open for opposing views because someone might be addressing one of his few/many misunderstandings.
I hope it's clear now. But I have no high hopes.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

No, I do not have to demonstrate with scripture because you are posting scripture as a method of telling me what interpretation of scripture you believe.  (Please feel free to use that to say that I cannot demonstrate with scripture as a reason to avoid the facts)

Whether you agree, or believe me does not change what I know about myself and my sons.  The very fact that you believe God is giving you visions and those visions bear no truth in my families life tells me that your wrong.   And that is the facts.

You have been misled from the root of the problem.  Masturbation is not the problem any more than having sex is a problem.   It is the addiction to a behavior that is the problem.  It demonstrates that you are still in bondage to religious dogma.  Addiction to sex doesn't mean you solve the problem by not having sex anymore.  There are things where abstaining for a period of time to sort out the root of a problem is beneficial but each case can be different and this is one of them that it may depend on the person and the situation.

Many would say that sex within marriage is just fine, yet they forget that the same feelings happen when having sex whether you are married or not.   The act of masturbation does not create anything in the mind that is not already there.   Sexual attraction, sex, masturbation, thinking of sexual thoughts about someone else is not what lust inherantly is concerning sexuality.  It is the obsession over sexuality as a primary function of another human being that is.

Lust is not only about sexuality.

If I encountered someone who was stealing because they did not see any other option to feed their family (I have BTW) then I will tell you that again, you have no idea what your talking about.   You really don't.

And the error of teaching you are following is why God gave you that vision.   He wants YOU to be free of the LAW and thrive spiritually.

i now answer others of you.

as for the rest of you, why compare us with Darwin Fish?  as you have so amply noticed, we have him listed as a false teacher because he is teaching falsehood, which we pointed out to him for the good of all.  (he was actually teaching people it is OK to masturbate as a believer in christ!  what bondage his teachings would have kept me in!)

WW, can you back up your comment about paul Cohen with the Scriptures?

brian, when a person chooses to hold onto their falsehood rather than heed and obey the Lord, who is the one being hateful? the one who rejects God, or the one who warned him?

One of, if not the first, false teacher list makers I ever came upon was Darwin Fish. To me he is the epitome of "everyone is a false teacher except me" types. Of course he's on your list and most likely you're on his. A lot of false teacher list makers have other false teacher list makers on their false teacher lists. I see a lot of what appears to me to be seething animosity directed towards those who are on whoever's false teacher list. In some cases the person on the false teacher list is someone who the list maker seems to have a personal grudge against.

But speaking of Darwin, according to him he is the only real teacher and everyone else is false. So why should I accept Paul Cohen's authority in these matters over Darwin Fish's? Other than the fact that I follow neither Paul or Apollos, 1 Corinthians 1:12-17. I follow Jesus. Him and Him alone.

Jesus alone is the way and the truth. If some man is claiming that he is the way and the truth, then he becomes a false Christ. So, who do you follow exclusively? If you're a true disciple of Christ, then Paul Cohen should come in as a very, very distant second and not really stand out much amongst other men. There is no man on this earth you should claim any spiritual allegiance to. If all were to put their entire allegiance, trust, learning and guidance in Christ and Christ alone exclusively, on an individual basis, then false teachers would have no sway over believers. Tell me, could you leave Paul Cohen this very minute, forever? If not, then you can not be a true disciple of Jesus, according to Him.

It's been decided sara won't be with us anymore.  She was allowed to go much longer with the personal attacks than most/anyone else would be...she was allowed to further expose the group and allow folks here to get a good look at that type of "ministry" and attitude within the body.  It was initially thought there might be some hope to positively influence her, but as she went on, not so much.  Again, she just further exposed the group for what they are, and at this point, she has continued attacking and insulting, so enough's enough.  As far as I know, the thread will remain open (someone else may choose differently) and it can continue to be educational for us.  Personally, I will choose to not keep reading and put that type of unrighteous judgment and attitude in my head, as I need to think on whatever is good, pure, just, etc....but there may be some that can still benefit/learn from it...

I will say that overall, I am very impressed with how the family at TM responded to her...with concern, honesty, while refusing to lower to the level of judgment, condemnation, and insult that she offered here.

God's blessing, James.

just call me mean old ray charles :icon_rr:...

won't dwell on it here, but man, you should of heard the ET/hell sermon yesterday at my wife's "church"...I left before the sermon, but heard enough of it on the radio after I'd left (about 5 seconds) to get me going...we ended up texting back and forth about mixing context of scripture and the confusion it causes...not to mention ET's hell not being in scripture to begin with  :mshock:.  Anyway, if you ever chat with Paul Cohen, don't tell him I hijacked his thread :spank:.

Oh come on, nothing like a curse put on you from a man of God.

reFORMer

It seems impossible to account for the self-approved persistent blindness to such a very obvious condition as Paul Cohen, Darwin Fish, et al display unless you believe in demons.  It is supposed to be an unacceptable breach of etiquette to seriously bring up demonization to those with whom you're arguing.  But then how do you explain it?  Scripture definitely says:

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 (CLV) . . .
3 Now, if our evangel is covered, also, it is covered in those who are perishing,
4 in whom the god of this eon blinds the apprehensions of the unbelieving so that the illumination of the evangel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of the invisible God, does not irradiate them.
5 For we are not heralding ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, yet ourselves your slaves because of Jesus,
6 for the God Who says that, out of darkness light shall be shining, is He Who shines in our hearts, with a view to the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Not meaning to dwell on it here either, however, what do you consider to be his motivation in giving an ET/hell sermon?
