Help me figure this scripture out -

8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might

sheila

it is the wicked spirit ones..that take man captive/blind them.  Ex; legion...Jesus asked their name...

they claim to know Him..but do not..for IF they had known Him..they would not of crucified Him.

...for He had said..'if I BE LIFTED UP...I SHALL DRAW ALL MEN TO ME!'

the evil spirits both tempt and accuse man...they are a murderer and liar from the beginning..come to

steal and kill..rob man of his inheritance of God.

the evil spirits prophecy falsely by uncleaaaan inspired spirits...the eternal condemnation and

destruction of man..whom God wills to save them all.  they lie and say God will burn them eternally

when it never entered God's heart to burn His children.

God's judgement unto man is tender and full of mercy..to save him and restore him..but unto

the devils messengers His judgement is severe and final.

....the saints were overcome...and these unclean spirits have deluded men into preaching

eternal torment  and eternal destruction unto man..instead of the true Gospel..that through Jesus

Christ all man's sin will be taken away..and all shall be raised up in the incorrupt image of

Jesus Christ.

God as man's Father..will discipline His children[man] but will save him...to whatever extent we

agree with satan..and take his hand and follow his ways..we shall suffer in this earth[reap what

we sow/corruption].     I have seen the waay that he takes..but I will heal him.

since satan and his evil messengers have loved to curse man...the curse shall cling to them

at the seperation He shall say to them...'I know ye not,ye workers of iniquity....come ye

who are cursed..and will throw them into the LOF..that has been prepared for them.

But to all redeemed man..He will say...Come all ye who are blessed of the Father..and receive the

Kingdom prepared for you.

satan thrown out of the heavens[Presence of God]...thrown unto the earth/bringing woe due to

his anger/wrath against God's judgement of mercy unto man. he is abyssed for a time......

and when he is let loose it is to go forth to his final doom.

just as all men have bore the image of the corrupt one[man of sin/son of

perdition/satn/adversary enter flesh of man/Judas]   so,too, shall all men bear the imge of the

incorrupt one.

Alikat, it all has to do with the interpretation of the PUNSIHED.

But first lets look at PUNISH  STRONGS G2849

to lop or prune, as trees and wings
to curb, check, restrain
to chastise, correct, punishment
to cause to be punished

Clearly the meaning does not fit the word. Loping, pruning, curbing and checking sounds like CORRECTION to me.

Now let's look at the word PUNISHED that was in this text. STRONGS G1349

custom, usage
right, just
a suit at law
a judicial hearing, judicial decision, esp. sentence of condemnation
execution of a sentence, punishment
to suffer punishment
the goddess Justice, avenging justice

Notice that punishment is used more as an after thought than the real intent of the word.

Really, the word PUNISHED could easily be replaced with CORRECTION and fit perfectly with the meaning given.

Finally we should look at the word DESTRUCTION. STRONGS G3639

ruin, destroy, death
for the destruction of the flesh, said of the external ills and troubles by which the lusts of the flesh are subdued and destroyed

Which totally fits CORRECTION. All of the ills, troubles and lusts of the flesh will be destroyed forever. They will be corrected.

This fits perfectly with:

1Cr 3:13
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

The fire shall "try" everyones work....

1Cr 3:15
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

It is the WORK that is destroyed, but he himself shall be saved. AS IF BY FIRE.  :dsunny:

Hoping this helps

That was really helpful. I never saw that it could be referring to spiritual world - demons - and not humans. It makes total sense in many ways.
Is their any way we can know He was referring to demonic angels? All my life I was told this "obviously" is fallen humanity who is not accepting the blood of the lamb.
What scripture verse is this last one you mentioned about all man will receive the image of the incorruptible one?

Thank you Julie :-)
I still trying to wrapmy brain around these 2 responses. They really give me hope

Romans 5;12-21.......   also....He tells us in Mt 24 just who the LOF/e3verlasting cutting off is

prepared for the devil and his angels[vs 41]

Romns 8;20-21  that the creation itself will be liberated from it's bondage to corruption

and brought into the glorious freedom of the children f God

1 Cor 15;42...so will it be with the resurrection of the dead. the body that is sown is

perishable[subject to corruption and death/man's flesh with sin entering it]

IT IS RAISED IMPERISHABLE..it is sown in dishonur...it is raised in glory..it is sown

in weakness[the flesh is weak/but the spirit is willing] it is raised in power[by MY SPIRIT]

it is sown a natural body..it is raised a spiritual body........

v 49  and just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man,so too shall we bear the likeness

of the man from heaven.

our old man of sin in Adam is condemned under law[sin in flesh condemned in all men]

but our free gift through Christ[mercy/grace] is eternal life in incorruption..in Christ's image

though our 0uter man perish, yet our inner man[spirit] is renewed day by day

1 Cor 15;50  I declare to you brothers that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom

of God..nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable........

for the TRUMPET WILL SOUND ND THE DEAD SHALL BE RAISED IMPERISHABLE AND WEWILL BE

CHANGED!    FOR THE PERISHABLE MUST CLOTHE ITSELF WITH THE IMPERISHABLE

AND THE MORTAL WITH IMORTALITY............DEATH HAS BEEN SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY

I would tie verse nine in with those who "suffer loss, but are saved as through fire."  This loss, as their wood, hay, and stubble are burned away, is everlasting (age-lasting?), and worse, they have no choice but to inhabit Outer Darkness outside the City, until the time of the Consummation of All Things.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus
