Sheila (all) that's not the point I'm arguing about. It's a Biblical view. My point is that UNTIL what you just wrote happens we are nothing like God.

Hi Paul.  Do you mean this spiritually? Or more so literally, as in "it is appointed unto man once to die", i.e., the natural death of this flesh that eventually through the course of this life comes to us all?  Thanks, James.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

I think that's also a matter of opinion BS.

Was the old body of Jesus resurrected?

a] Yes Jesus walked around in His old body because the tomb was empty.
b] No. It was a new body.
c] It was His body as it was before He came to earth.
d] ....

My opinion; The Bible is a spiritual book that doesn't care much about the things that are seen.
Mankind is not the vessel but what's inside (spirit).
For me the body is the vessel. The soul is what animates the body.

We are being saved spirit, soul, and body, in that order--from the inside out.

And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.

His old body was vivified by the quickening Spirit.

So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm Not sure about the unbelievers or those who's name is not written in the lambs book of life.
The scriptures show that their spirit will be saved in the lake of fire
1 Corinthians 3:15
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

But not sure what happens to their soul and body.

An ongoing study

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

I think what wings is saying is that if man was created in Gods image then, he should be perfect and therefore not fail the test of the tree, or to not have high and lofty thoughts of becoming like God.
That's niot what I intended to say. But it's a very good example.
God can not sin. But His image can't stop sinning.... :dontknow:

You have forgotten the rock scripture already Molly. Christ was/is a rock in the old testament. Adams no rock, more like sand. That same sand structure is the structure that humanity is built upon, hence all in Adam die, but all in Christ shall be made alive.

Adam is only human strength - Christ is Godly strength that helps us to overcome the world and the devil. Be of good cheer I have overcome the world and give you power over all the power of the enemy.

They that rest upon the arm of men shall fail, but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and fly like an Eagle.

I have not forgotten.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, "And to seeds," as referring to many, but rather to one, "And to your seed," that is, Christ.
--Gal 3:16

Rom 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

We see the promise is to the seed and is by faith.  Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.  Why is that?  Why is faith counted as righteousness?

Because we cannot have faith without Jesus--the author and perfector of our faith and the author of our salvation.

My argument and defense would be this:  The seed was always present with Man, both inside and outside the man Adam from day one.  Unlike Jesus, Adam does not have God's permission to die for his bride, but when he does, YHWH clothes him in the skin of beasts [the lamb?] and follows him outside the garden.  Why does he do this, unless God has planted his seed inside the man?

the seed is the word of God. [Lk 8:11]

As we gaze on him, how else could we become more like him?

2Cor 3:18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord--who is the Spirit--makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

What is the veil?  Is it not the carnal mind arising from this body of corruption?  But that veil can be removed such that deep can talk to deep, Christ to Christ..such that...

1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

--Rom 8
