I find these thoughts interesting.  I wonder how they reconcile with the fourth horseman of Revelation 6 being called Death and is pictured with Hades following him?
"Fiery red" is the color of Communism, and, "...who is sitting on it was given to take peace out of the earth, and that they should be slaying one another. And a huge sword was given to him." (Revelation 64; CLT)

Black three piece suits are worn by governors and senators, lawyers and representatives, presidents and judges, as well as the many in high finance.  Black is the color for those in charge of capitolism.  Rather than ruled by kings, they follow the black ink of their laws.  Lex Rex.  "...and he who is sitting on it has a pair of balances in his hand." (v.5)  To be fair, to treat men as equals before the law, is the halllmark of capitolism.

"And I perceived, and lo! a greenish horse, and the name of him who is sitting upon it is Death, and the Unseen followed him. And jurisdiction was given them over the fourth of the earth, to kill with the blade and with famine and with death and by the wild beasts of the earth." (v.8)  Who uses green as the emblem of their religion?  Does death ride into the land upon the spirits of men in this system of belief?  They do even now have "jurisdiction...over the fourth of the earth."
Red=Communism. Black=rulers. What about green and white?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

As for the white?   ...later...

The color green has a special place in Islam. It is used in the decoration of mosques, the bindings of Qur'ans, the silken covers for the graves of Sufi saints, and in the flags of various Muslim countries. Green has been associated with Islam for many centuries. It is not clear why this is so. Some say green was Muhammad's favorite color and that he wore a green cloak and turban. Others believe that it symbolizes nature and life, hence the physical manifestation of God. In the Qur'an (Surah 76:21 http://www.openburhan.net/ob.php?sid=76&vid=21 ), it is said that the inhabitants of paradise will wear green garments of fine silk. While the reference to the Qur'an is verifiable, it is not clear if other explanations are reliable or mere folklore. Regardless of its origins, the color green has been considered especially Islamic for centuries. Crusaders avoided using any green in their coats of arms, so that they could not possibly be mistaken for their Muslim opponents in the heat of battle.

Pestilence, war, famine, death.
I can like all mentioned "things" to at least 2 of the above. Conquest, war and death seem to match islam. But just as well Christianity (crusades)
So while I understand the colors I still don't understand the attributes.

green horse?

You mean pale horse. A pale horse exists, red horse exists, white horse, never seen a green horse.

WhiteWings

I mean a green horse. Pale is a wrong translation....

χλωρός
chlōros
Thayer Definition:
1) green
2) yellowish pale
Part of Speech: adjective
A Related Word by Thayer's/Strong's Number: from the same as G5514

χλωρός
chlōrós; fem. chlōrá, neut. chlōrón, adj. from chlóē (n.f.), the green herb or grass, akin to fresh, green. Green, as the grass or plants (Mar 6:39; Rev 8:7; Rev 9:4; Sept.: Gen 1:30; 2Ki 19:26; Isa 15:6). Pale or yellowish like the grass when dried up in the heat (Rev 6:8).
Ant.: xērós (G3584), dry; ánudros (G504), waterless, dry.

31 tn A sickly pallor, when referring to persons, or the green color of plants. BDAG 1085 s.v. χλωρός 2 states, "pale, greenish gray...as the color of a pers. in sickness contrasted with appearance in health...so the horse ridden by Death...ἵππος χλωρός Rv 6:8." Because the color of the horse is symbolic, "pale green" is used in the translation. Cf. NIV, NCV "pale"; NASB "ashen."

Yes I would assume chloro means green.  As I would assume our word chlorophyll comes from that derivative...the green substance found in plants.

I'm gonna print and frame that remark!

I find it interesting that translators can't agree on a color...pale, grey, green, pale green lol.  I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.

But, if it's indeed green...I find it interesting that death would be riding on a horse with the color of life.  Green=the color associated with life.  Without chlorophyll none of us would be here.

Death riding in on life.  Hmm maybe something is there.

Maybe they translated ita s pale because green sounds a bit odd.

Rotherham translates it as:
Livid

Merriam-Webster:
Discolored (by bruising)
Lead, Palled, Gasthly, Gray

Oxford:
Of a bluish leaden colour; discoloured as by a bruise; black and b
b. Prefixed, as a qualification, to other adjectives or substantives of colour. (Usually hyphened with the adj. when the latter is used attributively.)
In botanical use the form livido- (see -o suffix) has been employed in compound designations of colour: so livido-castaneous, -fuscous, -virescent, etc. (W. A. Leighton Lichenflora, 1871.)
  c. Furiously angry, as if pale with rage. colloq.

Is the word chloro?  Because if it is I can't imagine any translation other than green.

I allways saw the black horse as the spirit of Islam. Since black horse are used by muslims in battles, not sure what the balances mean, and what the riddle means. To me since they do not hurt the oil or wine, it means that Islam will not rely on mechanized warfare, such as bombs etc, but rely on hand to hand combat, using rifles, horses, swords to fight.

Perhaps it is not so much a matter of its colour specifically, but of its demeanor, its essence.

"Of a pale, light but vapid, greenish hue."

The colour of ghostly rot.

Green is the color of the interior of the Kaaba, the black basalt cube Muslims claim is the oldest place of worship on the planet. This is the rock toward which Muslims bow instead of to God.

Kaaba
Etymology: Arabic kaʽba, literally, "cubic building" Date: 1734
: a small stone building in the court of the Great Mosque at Mecca that contains a sacred black stone and is the goal of Islamic pilgrimage and the point toward which Muslims turn in praying

The funny thing is they say so because they believe David, Abraham etc prayed at that rock.

:cloud9: My  :2c:......everything below heaven is called the WATERS below the firmament, with the firmament being called heaven. Obviously, not all under heaven is literal water, but as all came from Spirit that was created under heaven, then all is a symbolic "water".

Waters and sea, not that big a stretch. I can see the sea being peoples (no accident our bodies are mostly water), and that sea giving up their dead, in the sense of the dead being as Jesus said, let the dead bury the dead. Looked at that way, it's actually another confirmation for all being saved. Blessings....

In quantum physics, as they have theorized mathematically down to smaller and smaller particles, they have run into problems with the way the waves behave. One of the latest theories proposes ("Surprise, surprise!", as Gomer Pyle would say) that the particles must be suspended in an as yet unidentified viscous fluid.

The waters were separated for various purposes, but since "all things were created through Him and for Him and in Him all things consist" and "He is the radiance of the Father's glory and exact representation of His nature and all things hold together by the power of His word",and since "In Him we move and breathe and have our being"....

I am hypothesizing that "water of life" suffuses everything, and the separations above and below will be eliminated as the "heavens are rolled back like a scroll" and the "veil in the heavens is removed" and "the glory of the Lord covers the earth as the water covers the sea" and the will of God is "done on earth as it is in heaven" and "the creation is set free from futility into the glorious liberty of the sons of God" and God becomes "ALL IN ALL".

Of course, this is just a theory. Put $1.25 with it and maybe you can get a cup of coffee somewhere. :o)

I would not think so, the scriptures see him speaking hebrew and I think the manuscripts were all hebrew, which were translated into greek by the scholars and then into latin, then into KJV 1611, then into modern english. The problems of translation must have started at the greek phase, and maybe this is where pagan concepts got introduced into the teachings of christianity.

I don't know but check the source if it says he did. According to RCC Pail was the first pope. (popes used Latin)
But it's very much disputed he was a pope. Or was in Rome.
