Two bible questions!

       The first.   How will it be known here on Earth,  when this age ends,  and the next age has begun?  What will be happening here in the natural realm just before ,   at the beginning,  and  after the next age begins? 
    The second.   In the Sermon on the Mount,  Jesus  talked about "these shall inherit the Earth".      How will  they inherit the Earth?   What does that mean?  What will they be doing after they inherit the Earth?

Inherit the earth is about being king together with Jesus. I think...
For your first question: If Rev is very literal the answer will be obvious. But if it's not literal, as many say on TM, then again I have no clue. But I really would like to read a straight to the point answer.

I'm afraid I could mostly only give you different points of view, theories, understandings.  I know how multiple groups and individuals interpret it, but then, you've probably already heard most of those.  :happygrin:  I think you could get about 5 different opinions from your questions, then you'll still have to pray about and sort through it yourself.   :thumbsup:  It will be interesting to see what folks think, if there are any "original" paradigms put forth.  Good questions.

P.S.  I was talking to a couple of guys once about Preterism, etc., and one said he was a pan-mellinialist..."it will all pan out in the end".

my understanding is the following:

1. End of the current age and dawn of the new

I've heard respected teachers say that we are living in the age of Pentecost.
now the question, what was Pentecost and what happened?
Pentecost is the feast Israel celebrated to commemorate the day when the 10 commandments was given to Moses...Israel refused to hear God's voice directly (because they were too scared) and asked Moses to be a "go-between" and talk to God and tell the people what He said.

Also, on the day of Pentecost the disciples of Jesus gathered in the upper room and the Holy Spirit came down on them and they preached the gospel to all kinds of people from all over the old world speaking in many different languages. These people (descendants of the dispersed tribes of Israel) have gathered in Jerusalem for the feast of Pentecost.
After this, the disciples were sent out to the world to go and preach the gospel to everyone.

It is also said that Jesus have fulfilled half of the feasts of Israel throughout his life i.e. He was baptized and sent into the wilderness on the day of Atonement and crucified on the day of Passover (the Lamb being slaughtered for the world), and the Holy Spirit (the comforter sent to us in his place) came on Pentecost...

so now the question...which feasts remain which He has not fulfilled yet?

there are important feasts which have not been fulfilled...the feasts of "Trumpets" and "Tabernacles or Booths"
This would be fulfilled during the second coming of Christ..."Trumpets" for the overcomers and "Tabernacles" where the whole of Israel and also the nations would be brought into the Kingdom...

if we have a look at Revelation, we see that there is a gap between when Christ would come (whether physically or "through the sons of God") and bring a 1000 years of peace at which time satan would be bound...then after a 1000 years satan is let loose and the last battle would be fought where satan and his armies will be totally defeated, and then the fulfillment of the Kingdom would be at hand i.e. new earth and new heaven

so, the age of Pentecost will end when the age of Trumpets dawns ie the revealing of the sons of God

The Beatitudes
1Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2and he began to teach them saying:

      for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
      for they will inherit the earth.

      for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,

Jesus talks about the meek inheriting the earth, the peacemakers who'd be called sons of God, the righteous and poor in spirit who'd inherit the kingdom of heaven.

God owns the earth, and His Son Jesus was given Kingship over all creation including earth...so to inherit the earth and be called sons of God, would mean that these people would rule with Christ...the Son and the sons...

we also see this concept explained already by David in Psalm 2:

7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD :
       He said to me, "You are my Son [d] ;
       today I have become your Father. [e]

8 Ask of me,
       and I will make the nations your inheritance,
       the ends of the earth your possession.

Psalm2 talks about the Son...and Matthew 5 about the sons...if inheritance was given by God to His Son (Psalm 2)...His Son shares this inheritance with His brothers i.e. the sons (Matthew 5)...does this make sense?

Thank you for making that connection, noname, on the feasts.  Three thousand died when Moses delivered the law from Mount Sinai--the first Pentecost.

Exodus 32:28
The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died.


  Now, at Pentecost in Acts 2,  three thousand are saved.

41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Thus is Pentecost a celebration of the fulfillment of the law in the New Testament.

No longer is man standing far away from the mountain, lest he be consumed by the fire of God.

He is now purified and filled with that fire, the law written in his heart instead of on tablets of stone.


3They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

We are still under the Law but it is now become the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.


Like you said there is one last feast that we look forward to being fulfilled in our lives--tabernacles--the fulfillment of Christ in you, the hope of glory.


2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
