Living in the Lightning Realm

I don't recall which thread it was on that Molly requested that I go to the home page and have a listen to Gary's message on the lightning of God.  I have just finished and thought I'd start a new thread on his topic and begin with a few personal observations.

Since my introduction to Tent, I have been able to have the pleasure of identifying myself with the UR principles that have been projected on this board.  What has surprised me to some degree, however, is that the majority of others who also agree with this same principle, have come into it from a very different approach than I did.  I am not a literalist . . .I believe there is a place for the literal things written, I just am not one who emphasizes the applications of literal things written for them then, to my spiritual walk today. 

I am a dimensionalist .  . . Whether or not there is a movement out there that carries the same name, I have no idea.  But I see things in dimensions.  I have had many a discussion on this forum clarifying and at times, defending the "idea" that the literal things written have an invisible meaning beneath that comes by revelation from the Father . . . through our invisible relationship of intimacy with the Son.  I call that, the Peter experience.

I have never listened to any of Gary's messages before now.  And also, until now, I had no idea where the home page was.  When I want to find this forum on a different computer, I simply type in "tentmaker forum" in the search window and it's the first option that comes up.  But today, as I'm listening to this message Gary did on lightning, if there was ever any question others had about my stand on being dimensional . . . this message by Gary should clear it up.  The man, don't know if he calls himself one or not beings I just now made the word up . . .but the man is a dimensionalist as well.

The message on lightning that was coming out of his heart was about as dimensional as it gets.  What a wonderful and profoundly rich message it is.

So . .what are my thoughts on the message over all?  I jotted down some of the really cool stuff that he shared that really struck a chord.  Oh, by the way . .for those who smirk at such things, we get our principle of using natural happenings and spiritually identifying with them from passages like, Romans 1:20 . . .and Hebrews 10:1 starts the message off by saying all of the activities the priests were instructed to do were actually patterns and shadows . .they were not the source or origin of the substance, they were a shadow of the substance.  Which is to say they are only to be adhered to "until" the substance manifested . . . which of course is Christ.

Hebews 8:5 . . 9:23 and Colossians 2 I'll go ahead and post . .as it sums it all up . . .

16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:  17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.  18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,  19And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

If the literal things are simply shadows . . .then why adhere yourself to the shadows and not the substance???

Okay . . .that's just the intro to the idea of pursuing the spiritual pictures that lie beneath the natural realm. 

The lightning then . . .listing the natural qualities and activities that cause it are . . .

When clouds become "turbulant" . . .we talked earlier on other threads about stirring the waters . . .there is the exact same pattern here in producing lightning.  It doesn't just take a cloud all light and fluffy drifting slowly over our lives . .but it takes a turbulant cloud . ..what causes the turbulance?  The confrontation of a low pressure front and a high pressure front . .when they collide, it can be violent.  When there is a clashing of thoughts, principles, doctrines, philosphies that transpires within us, it creates turbulence in our mind . . .an unrest in our nature . . .

Okay, Gary shared when clouds become turbulant, ice crystals within the clouds bounce off each other, causing a release of electrons, both positive and negative.  The positive electrons then elevate up into the upper atmosphere, while the negative electrons drop out of the cloud and are pulled to the earth.  For me, this is kind of like the dividing of soul and spirit.  Soulish things (carnal) descend while spirit things ascend.

He said the negative electrons don't like the separation and need to find a way to release.  This really speaks much to me about my carnal nature in how it does not like the inability to be in control of my spirit nature.  But yet I'm told by 2 Corinthians 10 that I'm to "take captive" my thoughts that are not godly . . .there is a separation within me that creates a storm . . .which results in lighting . .and thunder . . .the lightning burns the carnality . .the thunder is me complaining about the process of the lightning.  Actually, I'm sure it's deeper than just me complaining . .but for now, I'll leave it in.

He said that even though the negative electrons often descend to the earth . .they also can transfer from cloud to cloud.  When he stated that, the first thing that dropped in my mind was . . .the two laws that we're to live by.  Love the Lord thy God (vertical relationship) and love thy neighbor (horizontal) which is how the electrons work.  The positive elevate up, the negative transfer across . . . just an interesting parallel I thought.

And when these electrons move, it can't be seen . .it's invisible to us.  If we had microscopic vision, we could see these things, but with our "natural" eyesight, these things are happening right in front of us without our awareness.  Just as spiritual things are happening around us all of the time, but we just can't see that things are happening.  I still think that's why we're called to walk in the spirit so that not only can we see spiritual things happening, but we can facilitate them.  We can bring change to the natural by releasing and binding in the spiritual . . .

Then, for those electrons that descend to the ground . . .an awesome thing happens . . .rising from the surface of the earth are what they call purple streamers . . .these are positive electrons that are elevating in the path of the negative electrons descending . . .incidentally, the negative electrons are descending in a stairstep pattern.  They zigzag downward.  And when they get about a hundred yards from the surface of the earth, they connect with the purple streamers and BAM lightning manifests.  

Incidentally, purple is the color for royalty . .like . . .kings . .those who have authority over kingdoms . . .Gary made it very clear . . .they are us.  Revelation states that we "are" kings and priests.  Doesn't matter what you "feel" like . . .or what you "think" you are . . .it ain't about you and what you think or feel.  It's about Christ and what he's declared over you.

Lightning produces heat of 45,000 degrees . .it's hotter than the surface of the sun.  When it strikes, it produces ozone into the atmosphere, the very element that protects the earth from outside forces and objects.  Ever hear of the ozone layer?  Many say that there's a hole in it and man is destroying the earth . . .but lightning replaces the very ozone that man "thinks" man is destroying.  

Lightning also produces nitrates that fertilize the soil . . .you may want to reread the parable of the 4 soils again and (God help us) the wheat and tares parable just after that and reidentify where we fit in with all of this.  The lightning regenerates the ground . . . we need lightning . . I need lightning in me.  

It also enables the dead forests to be purged to make way for new growth.  How much more obvious does this need to be for us?  How many of us have forests within our natures that has more deadwood than living trees?  In fact . .oddly enough (side note here) I was watching a nature channel or something similar just last night and i think it was in Brazil . . .not sure, but it was in a dense jungle and they taped a huge dead tree . . .I mean like . . .HUGE  . .not like your standard oak tree . .but like the redwood forest kind of tree . . .and they set up a special speed controlled camera that captured the growth over time . .it was so cool to watch . .but as soon as the sun hit the forest floor . . .life sprung up and immediately, plants and trees began competing against each other for their place in the chain of life.  In 4 years time, the big hole in the canopy overhead that the huge tree made as it fell . .was completely filled in with the new growth.  The forest heals itself in the light of the sun . . . that's just to cool!!!

I think every man needs to have the lightning of heaven strike their dead forests so that the consuming fire of God can sweep through our very nature and even though it may stink of death and decay, and even though it may leave a scorched and ugly terrain in us . . .joy still comes in the morning.  The fire is for my rebirth of "new" life . .not to retain the old.

We are called to live in the realm of the lightning.  Remember . . it's invisible.  You can't see the negative electrons hooking up with the purple streamers with the natural naked eye.  You have to cross through the threshold of faith . . . which is beyond the realm of natural reasoning.

Then Gary takes it into the tabernacle . . . there is a combination of elements that must come together before entering into the holy of holies.  One thing the priest brought with him was the blood of the sacrificial lamb . .because life is in the blood.  And Jesus willingly let death come to his flesh, so the life in him could be carried into the temple (which is us) and be sprinkled on the mercy seat. . .which is where his Spirit resides . . in us.

The second thing that combined with the blood . . .was the incense.  The insense was ground down into a course granual substance and then that was sprinkled on the existing flame before the veil.  With the combination of the blood of the lamb . .which is Christ . . and the ground up incense  . .which is every one of us . .we all must go through a grinding process for the purpose of passing through the veil and entering into the place of rest . .the person of rest.

Here's the cool thing though . . .the ground up incense becomes the praise and worship of the people when it's mingled with the fire.  In my brokenness before the Lord, my pain is transformed into praise and when that happens, my form is changed from a solid into a gas . . .from a carnal being into a spirit being . . .and THEN I can pass through the veil of blindness and separation and become one with the atmosphere of the Holy of Holies.  I become God's breath to others . . .how cool is that.

The reason Gary jumps to the vision of the tabernacle is because whenever God's presence manifested .  .  . there were many lightnings and thunderings.  And the description given by the authors who witnessed such things would explain it as . . .lightning.  When John was "taken up" and revelation was given to him . . .he saw much worship (altar of incense) and much lighting and thundering . .in fact, he heard the 7 thunders speak but was instructed not to write down what they said.

Some things can not be read . . .they must be felt.

The last thing Gary said and I really liked . . .God is calling us to BE "comfortable" in the lightning realm.  When it's released, nothing on earth can stand in it's way.  When you release this light within you . . .no naysayer or ruler of the night will be able to withstand the glory flowing from you.  

It's your choice guys . . .you want to embrace the physical things, that's just fine . . .but it's in the spirit where lightning is made . . .I want to be the lightning bolt of God that breaks the barriers of sound . . .natural things can only measure so much . .but when you get into the spirit, you can break the barriers that keep the natural things natural.

That last paragraph was mine . . .it's a freebie.

   true  fact I was lifted out of the natural realm and  for that glorious moment was in the SPIRIT  and  never wanted to  leave!!! the POWERFUL GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! to just be connected so fully and  completely for that moment  where  nothing  ever  remotely   earthly  ever   touches

Even though I am a literalist--I have felt the lightning talked about here--very rarely--I described it to my friends as though you stuck your finger in a light socket--they all think I'm nuts anyway lol--I didn't know what it was, but I could see its power.  I was all obsessed with worldly power, once, --I think He wanted to show me real power, and--oh my--there is no comparison.

I really want to explore this topic  because this is where the Spirit has been leading me, too, but, as you said from the literal point of view--so I will just continue doing my thing--word definitions and all--because that's what works for me.

That color purple you mentioned, the color of kings, is one of the colors in the gate to tabernacle.  Every part of the tabernacle has meaning for us.  Moses did what he was told, building it exactly according to the plan,  with a good result--

Heh, heh . . .Molly . . .you may see yourself as a literalist . .and there may be a balance of that in you . . .but at the same time . .the stuff you post seems to come across as taking Scripture and seeing it's deeper meaning . . .at least that's how you're coming across to me.

To me, a literalist is one who sees everything as one dimension . . .and you're just not coming across that way at all. You seem to see deeper things . . .you just have a knack of displaying relevant passages.  There's nothing wrong with seeing things literally . . .I see them to . . .the struggle comes when one is unwilling to consider there is a different and more effective approach.

Gary says the Bible is full of lightning--but it's hidden by the KJ translators.  They are using terms that are different from lightning, even though the Greek and Hebrew words mean lightning.  He invited us to search our Bibles for the hundreds of references to the lightning.


Two references he gave--

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Spiritually, we've not come to a mountain that can't be touched . .but we've come to mount Zion . . .we can touch it . .but yet . . the carnality in me can't . . .there is a death within me as I approach this wonderful place of established authority.  And there is still lightnings and thunderings continuing as our carnality clashes with the spirit of truth . . .

Although the book of Job is still way over my head, I did think of this when I read your post about the storm and lightning--because the storm presses the oil out of us--what Gary calls negative and positive charges--to create the light--

I googled lightning to see what their explanation was on it . . .pretty similar . . .


Lightning is a discharge of atmospheric electricity which is triggered by a buildup of differing charges within a cloud. The result is a sudden release of electricity which causes a distinctive bright flare, followed by a thunderclap. Lightning is most common around the equatorial regions of the world, although it can potentially strike anywhere, and it appears in a variety of guises, depending on atmospheric conditions.

There are several competing theories to explain why differing electrical charges appear in clouds, although scientists suspect that it may be related to the presence of ice crystals in the cloud. Typically, the bottom of a cloud become negatively charged, and it sends out what is known as a "leader" which seeks a positive charge, either in another cloud or on the earth. As the leader approaches an area which is positively charged, a positively charged streamer emerges, meeting the leader, sealing the connection, and generating a bolt of lightning.

After the lightning travels to the ground or another cloud, it may strike again several times within a fraction of a second. These re-strikes are so fast that people cannot register them with the naked eye; instead, they appear as a single strike. The lightning moves so quickly that it superheats the surrounding air, causing a sudden rapid expansion which creates a shockwave. Shockwaves are responsible for thunder; because thunder is so closely associated with lightning, some people attempt to judge the distance of a storm by counting the time which elapses between a lightning strike and a thunderclap.

Most lightning travels from cloud to cloud, or from a cloud to the ground. In rare circumstances, however, the charges will be reversed, and lightening will emanate from the ground. This is known as "positive lightning," and it is rare and extremely dangerous. Positive lightning is often triggered by human activities, such as the liftoff of a rocket or the detonation of a nuclear device.

Many people associate classically jagged streaks in the sky with lightning, but lightning can also appear in bursts known as bead lightning, or it can reflect from the clouds, making sheet lightning. Some people may also be familiar with ball lightning, an unusual manifestation of lightning which is rarely observed.

And of course, I had to look up what ball-lightning was as well . . .

Ball lightning is an extremely rare and poorly understood atmospheric phenomenon that accompanies electrical storms. It manifests as a glowing ball about the size of a basketball, but sometimes as small as a golf ball or as large as a small car. It hovers in the air somewhere between a few seconds and a couple minutes, with an average of 25 seconds, then disappears either silently or with a loud bang. Some scientists have studied ball lightning for upwards of 20 years and are still uncertain that it actually exists.

The phenomenon of ball lightning is so infrequent that not a single scientifically confirmed video of it even exists, though most scientists accept its existence because reports of it extend all the way back to Ancient Greece. Also supportive is that a majority of the reports that we do have tell a rather consistent tale, instead of being all over the place as we would expect if ball lightning were merely a misidentification of more common atmospheric phenomena. When details vary too widely from the most common reports, it is likely a misidentification, wishful thinking, or fraud. It is plausible that so-called ball lightning is merely an positive afterimage left on the eye in the wake of a lightning flash.

A newspaper in 1960 conducted an informal poll and found that 5% of respondents claimed to have witnessed ball lightning, though the true figure is probably much lower. If 5% of people truly witnessed ball lightning, there would be video footage of it. Nevertheless, reports continue to come in, and ball lightning is sometimes regarded as a UFO - an unidentified flying object - meaning something in the sky which cannot be readily identified.

The current prevailing physical theory for ball lightning is the atmospheric maser theory. Large clouds of charged water molecules are put into an excited state by electrical activity, briefly causing light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation, or the laser effect. However, before this can be confirmed as the true cause of ball lightning, it must be replicated in a laboratory first, which has not yet occurred. There may come a day where we can be sure that ball lightning is a real phenomenon, but unfortunately for the enthusiasts, that day is not here yet
