Atlantic Ocean

The Atlantic Ocean is the second-largest of the world's oceanic divisions; with a total area of about 106.4 million square kilometres (41.1 million square miles). It covers approximately one-fifth of the Earth's surface. The first part of its name refers to the Atlas of Greek mythology, making the Atlantic the "Sea of Atlas". The oldest known mention of this name is contained in The Histories of Herodotus around 450 BC (I 202); see also: Atlas Mountains. Another name historically used was the ancient term Ethiopic Ocean, derived from Ethiopia, whose name was sometimes used as a synonym for all of Africa and thus for the ocean. Before Europeans discovered other oceans, the term "ocean" itself was to them synonymous with the waters beyond Western Europe that we now know as the Atlantic and which the Greeks had believed to be a gigantic river encircling the world; see Oceanus.

Speaking of rainbows . . . there's a song I like that speaks of them . . .

WHEN I SEE THE LIGHT
AS IT MINGLES WITH WATER
IT ALWAYS PRODUCES RAINBOWS
IN THIS LIGHT OF YOUR GLORY
AND THE RAIN OF YOUR SPIRIT
PRODUCES IN ME A NEW HOPE

I AM YOUR CHILD,
MY NAME MAKES YOU SMILE
YOU DELIGHT IN ME
I AM REDEEMED

I WILL RISE UP AS AN EAGLE
AND LET YOUR SPIRIT CARRY ME
IT'S THE PROMISE OF THE RAINBOW
I'M IN YOU, AND YOU'RE IN ME

MY HOPE'S IN YOU,
YOU'RE THE PROMISE IN ME
LET THIS RAINBOW SHINE
SO THE WORLD CAN FINALLY SEE

thats a Cool song Nate

who sang it? :icon_flower:

Our church does . . .I wrote it.  Cardinal sent out a wonderful post last week and when I read it . . . it's like what Tony is referring to about having the joy . .when I read her stuff . .this  . . . this "unction" . . . this spirit of praise just welled up in me as a result and I pmed her the words of the feeling that her words really inspired in me . . .and later, I took it to the keyboard and made a song out of it as well . . .

Card, this is going to be just a little different than the original . .. I tweaked it a bit.  But 90% of it is still the same.

GLORY TO MY GOD

GLORY TO MY GOD AND HIS MERCY IN MY LIFE,
I WANT TO WORSHIP AND MAGNIFY HIS NAME
WE'VE BEEN CALLED AND CHOSEN
TO ILLUMINATE HIS LIGHT
SO ALL CREATION MAY BE CHANGED
SO ALL CREATION MAY BE CHANGED

TO THE ALPHA, AND OMEGA
MY BEGINNING AND MY END
GREAT JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH JIREH
GOD OF THE LIVING, NOT OF THE DEAD

I LIFT MY HANDS UP AND GIVE YOU PRAISE
I GIVE YOU GLORY MY ANCIENT OF DAYS
HEAVENLY FATHER YOU'RE MY LAKE OF FIRE
THE ONLY WAY TO TRUTH AND LIFE

This actually all started several years ago when I had the same thing happen while I was in the middle of leading the worship.  I play (around) on the keyboards . . .self taught . .can't read a lick of music and don't have a lick of rhythm . .which makes this whole thing even more unique.  My playing isn't complicated, but I do love to worship.

My favorite instrument to play is the harmonica . . .my wife bought me this brace that holds the harp while you can play the guitar . .which is what most people who play harmonica also play at the same time . .the guitar.  But with me, it's the keyboard.

At anyrate, this particular morning it was so strong . .I was between songs and just began to weep . .couldn't stop . . so I simply told the congregation to bear with me a sec and I just began singing as the words came and chord progressions came .. . I asked that someone write down the words . . .I later sat down and put the lyrics and chord progressions together and come the following Sunday, I introduced it to the congregation . . .and the Lord spoke to me there and said the day would come when "all" of our songs we sang would be songs that he'd given in this same way.  I relayed that out . .but was freaked out at the idea of it . . .but that's actually just what happened.

Most of the time, I'll go over on Saturday nights just to jam by myself and songs birth out of that . .but there are still those times in the middle of worship where a new one will surface and someone will write the lyrics down and it becomes another praise in the line-up of praises.

I don't say all of this to pat myself on the back.  I still can't read music and I still have serious rhythm issues . . .but I believe that when ANY of us come into the person of rest and we begin to walk a more intimate walk . .not a more straight one or a more perfect one, but a more intimate one . think about what I just said there for a sec.  Those that are closest to you are the ones that you forgive the most.

So many have a desire to please God that they try to do that by being a better person, by being more discplined . .by reading more, by praying more . . .they have the impression that attention from heaven comes to those who do the most to deserve it.  When the truth is, none of us deserve it.  But yet his love is just that rich that what I get is not the result of what I do.  It's a result of who He is.

When I realized this, it released a spirit of praise.  When I walk in this, it continues to release the spirit of worship.  Intimacy isn't in the religion, it's in the relationship.  If we remain silent, the very rocks will cry out . . .fragments of law even have enough illumination to glorify God . .. when put in the proper order and perspectives.

I especially like this line in the song:

HEAVENLY FATHER YOU'RE MY LAKE OF FIRE

Let's continue the thought:
HEAVENLY FATHER YOU'RE MY LAKE OF FIRE
AS LONG AS YOU ARE I'M NOT IN THE BOOK OF LIFE
I KNOW I'VE BROUGHT FORTH YOUR RIGHTEOUS IRE
ALL MY SINS ARE SICK AND RIFE.
Just because God says He will save all mankind
does not necessarily mean He won't.

I can't believe you said that!  When I was rolling it out to the congretation . . I came to that part and said the EXACT same thing . . .it's my favorite part of the song . . . I just camped on it for a while . . .kept repeating it . . .and weeping . . .you ever try to sing while your crying?  I hide my nose behind the mic half the time cuz I know there's more than a river of living water flowing there . . . :laughing7:

That's so crazy you said that . . .wow.

Surely someone knows how to Youtube and could help Nathan out on that.  I've also thought of putting some of my stuff on Youtube, but haven't gotten there yet.  (Also a keyboard player, writer, and vocalist, Nathan...you know, praise band for years guy until left the denomination and was told probably not welcome any more, etc.).  Willi and Byron are also musical folks...it would be cool to have a TM Youtube location where some good praise/UR-friendly music could be accessed.

Anyway, even if it's just Nathan's stuff on his own YT account for now, that would be cool and would be a start, and would be available to you onlytruth and others...can some tech whiz out there help?

Nathan, you keep on, keeping with the praising!

Reminds me of a song, if I can remember the lyrics...

Lord almighty,...
I feel my temperature rising
Higher, higher...
Its burning through to my soul...

Girl, girl, girl...
You gonna set me on fire
My brain is flaming...
I don't know which way to go...

Your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir...
You light my morning sky
With burning love...

Ooh, ooh, ooh,...
I feel my temperature rising
Help me, I'm flaming...
I must be a hundred and nine
Burning, burning, burning
And nothing can cool me...
I just might turn into smoke
But I feel fine...

Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like a sweet song of a choir...
And you light my morning sky
With burning love...

It's coming closer...
The flames are reaching my body
Please won't you help me...
I feel like I'm slipping away
Its hard to breath...
And my chest is a'heaving

Lord almighty,...
I'm burning a hole where I lay
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir...
You light my morning sky
With burning love...
With burning love...
Ah, ah, burning love...
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love...
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love,

Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love... :myahoo:

Reminds me of a song I heard years ago glorifying mankind getting fried:

"Won't your peepers get the creepers when you realize
We're all rising right before your eyes
You'll cry as we wave good bye
You'll sigh as we wave good bye
You'll fry as we wave good bye to you!"

Kind of morbid, don't you think?
Just because God says He will save all mankind
does not necessarily mean He won't.

I "have" had a couple people interested in them also and what I've done in the past is, I've had them email me their address (my email is open here if you check my profile, you should be able to get it there)  And I've filled 45 minutes of stuff on cassette tapes for them . . .and I also emailed them the chord charts . . .so they could play along . .even though many of the songs are sung lower than the chord charts . .. anyway . . .I'll throw this out to you guys as well.

These songs are not copywrited or anything . . .I just sing 'em as I see 'em.  And do keep in mind . .I wasn't kidding about my musical ability . . . I love to play . .. and the only reason I play the keyboard at church is because no one else plays other than the other keyboardist . . .and interestingly enough . .I had to "teach" her how to go by just a chord chart because she's the opposite of me, she could only play if there was sheet music . .but over the years, she's really taken to the new stuff.

I am humbled by your interest in this.
