Quote from: PaulContext can be see that Serpent  applies to the nature of man through the word and root word.

If Satan is just man's nature, then why don't we see him in Genesis 2?

Instead we see Adam walking and talking with God--no problems.

It's how we are,  we can do well with God at times.   That doesn't mean that is not our nature to go against God.  None of us are perfect, and how we define something as bad, worse or horrible is irrevalent.  Until you are perfect you do things that are emnity to God.

The story of the Serpent is about the depiction of how our Nature works,  it does not prove that it was Satan that came around and deceived.   The word and root and context does not introduce the Serpent as Satan.

Yes, their nature went against God, or it would not have happened in the first place.

How does a wonderful, perfect flawless being get deceieved if it is perfect as we want to usually define it?

Quote from: Rosesatan / adversary

Satan is God's adversary.  That's why he opposes the men of God.  If you are in Satan's camp, worshipping him and bowing down to him, he is not opposing you.

And, that's why when Michael is in a dispute with Satan, he says, The Lord rebuke thee.

"In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.  But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

--Jude 1

Outline of Biblical Usage 1) of good name and of good omen

Eve did not have the Holy Spirit--the breath of God.

here paul gives an awesome clue to this dilema  the jealousy  [godly ] type to make them chaste VIRGINS /PURE MINDS READY for Christ to come into them

2Cr 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye  have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him].
Jesus is the reward  !!

Answer the question pertaining to EVE.

Eve did not have the Holy Spirit--the breath of God.

Then she was not perfect.

I'm assuming your saying that Adam had the breath of God therefore perfect and flawless.  Yet,  he sinned,  why he sinned is irrevalent to the issue.  He sinned, why did this happen if he was flawless and perfect as is often implied in the traditional explanations?

Adam died because to the WAGES of SIN is DEATH.

What was perfect about ADAM that MADE HIM SIN?

This still has no bearing on Satan falling from the perfection of being a heavenly flawless being in heaven.

Craig

Scripture states that Adam was not created perfect, but very good. Even then, very good does not mean sinless or with the inability to sin. It is ontologically very good and perfection is also ontologically perfect. In other words, we are considered good and perfect by God, not by our standards in the first place.

Molly

Quote from: PaulHe sinned, why did this happen if he was flawless and perfect as is often implied in the traditional explanations?

Because he was God's son, and he did what God would do himself if he saw his loved one dying--give himself to save her.

...the lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

It is a spiritual battle.

Satan can never be a son.  He will never be what Adam was by birthright.

Satan was created perfect for the very purpose that he is.

I do not believe or agree that Adam had 'the serpent nature.'

Although I'm sure Satan would like to think so, so that he can accuse God by indicting his son.

Another problem is that the word along these lines that are traslated to angels is primarily translated to messengers.  Angels imply something that is not in proper context with the whole thing.

A messenger of Satan was not inherantly once holy angel in heaven in union with God.

This subject also rarely if ever see the that there are Heavens not just a one heaven.  So this creation of subjects that turned to fight against God,  goes against the normal thought that they were flawless with God.   There is more to it.
