What if you were a kid of a false prophet or teacher, I suppose your case is hopeless because you would read these verses and think,"Oh, I had better never stray from my upbringing or I'm going to hell."

Being one who sees the Bible so much differently these days in that it's a book of seeds, patterns and timetables . . .what if this passage is saying "by" removing something from the prophetic words, that act will cause you to be unable to share the fruit from the tree of life because the patterns are needed to reveal the whole truth.  If you add to any of it, or take away any of it, you've broken the circut that reveals the fruit of life.

I found it frustrating and interesting at the same time with the passage concerning where eagles gather together . . .

Matthew 24
27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

It was all about the coming of the son of man . . .as lightning SHINES out of the EAST . .the resurrection of the Son is always in the east.  The gate of the garden of Eden faced east, the gates to the tabernacle faced east, the temple itself faced the east.  All things point to resurrection.  The rising of the Son.

The eagles gathered together . .. I found other translations refer to this passage as a misinterpretation, not because of the language or grammar . . .but in a side note, they say that eagles do not eat decaying flesh so this can not actually mean "eagles" but instead it must then mean "vultures".  To me . ."That" is taking away from the prophetic Script.

Nothing Jesus ever said was intended to be taken as literal as much as it was meant to be received as spiritual.

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

If his words are spirit, then should they not be taken spiritually?  Isaiah states that "we" are the eagles and the carcase is the body of Christ.  We eat of his body and drink of his blood and walk away with renewed minds and realigned hearts.

That passage out of Matthew 24 where it speaks of sun, moon and stars . . . again, it's not about our literal sun, moon and stars . .but it's a prophetic picture . .. it's coming from Joseph's dream which is a picture of Israel, the nation . . and they were literally shaken in the powers of their heaven . .the control of their religious belief system.  Their lights went out, their identity as a religious nation was removed.  Their identity was not to be in religion, but it was to be in God.

Hebrews speaks of one final shaking . . . the belief system of all men will go through a huge paradigm shift.  That which is of God will remain, that which isn't . . .won't. 

But the important thing is, if we remove any one piece from what has been given, we disable ourselves from seeing the fruit of the tree of life.  Jesus words are spirit and life, if we can't see spiritual truths, we can't see spiritual life.  At least that's where I am with it today.

Very good passage.

Whats not destructive about a doctrine of eternal doom?

Why would it not be a denial of the master who redeemed us to say he will not redeem everyone?

The more things that are not taken away from us, the less loss we will suffer when our works are judged.
