Revelation sealed the prophets.  There is nothing given in similtudes that is not given by one of the prophets somewhere else in a different similtude. Everything is in the form of similtudes and parables, with a little point being bluntly given.

Hosea 12:9And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

10I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets

45Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

46Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;

47And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

48And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.

49Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

As Jesus declared of the matter.

Matthew 13:12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

I'm not sure I would agree the whole book of Revelation is symbolic.

Some things are clearly literally symbolic, like 666.

But, other things like plagues happen in real life.

Do you think John was really taken up to the throne of God?  Did he really see those things?

Or is the throne of God just symbolic for something else?

Will God really wipe away all our tears?  Or is that just symbolism?

Jesus "signified" the book just means he put his signature to the testimony, meaning it is a true witness.

No molly..if we are told its signified then Indeed its signified.

whres the THRONE OF GOD molly..go search..come back and tell me....,?

That which is signified starts in verse TWELVE...

as for tears..yep  symbolic as is sorrows....Just wrote on this yesterday..oppossed to bringing it into this post..ill add it later ... :icon_flower:..then go search the scrips and then tell me otherwise,,ok.

To MAKE Known in symbols ...doesnt indicate HIS SIGNITURE MOLLY.

I'm not sure what you think 'signified' means.

Do you think that means symbolic?

Verb: signify  'signu`fI

Denote or connote
- mean, intend, stand for

Convey or express a meaning
"What does his strange behaviour signify?"

Make known with a word or signal
"He signified his wish to pay the bill for our meal"

"signified"

G4591
σημαίνω
sēmainō
say-mah'ee-no
From σῆμα sēma (a mark; of uncertain derivation); to indicate: - signify.

2) to make known

I am not the leased offended  that you don't get it, and it doesn't 'wash'. As paul said once,

Galatians 4:12
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.

I just cast the scriptures out there, hoping they find good ground, and  they fall where they will.

Bottom line:  I'm looking forward to the reign of Christ and his saints here on earth.

It's clearly not here yet.

I'm not looking forward to something symbolic.

I'm looking forward to something literal.

However much Christ might be in my life personally, I am waiting for him to be everywhere.

I need him to be everywhere.  I want to see him fully realized in every person I meet.

Symbols mean something, they are not used to signify some mystical or non occurance. Everything symbolized is backed up by other scriptures which will interpet what is symbolized or it is a false symbol. There are always two or three witnesses of each event symbolized.  The point of there being prophets.
Using symbols means using similitudes of a thing or event. The scriptures are full of symbols, and they stand for something, but not all things in the scriptures are symbolic. Was the flood symbolic, was the temple thrown down, or wasn't Christ crucifed just as David prophesied, to the letter?

As for Christ not reigning in the world Willy,

Psalm 2 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

Psalm 2
1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.

5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Because this is what I believe.  Prophecy--the whole Bible is prophecy of this.  Satan is playing hard scrabble with God, trying to beat God to the punch with his one world government, rule by [unjust] law, cameras and spies everywhere, murdering those who will not comply.  Satan is building the seat of his government in David's city because that is where prophecy says it will be.  Satan wants to call himself the Messiah, telling even the world's Christians that the Messiah has not yet come.

So we look to the prophecy, and unlike the rest of the world, we look to the Christ to fulfill it.  And, the meek will inherit the earth.

Rev 2

26To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations
27'He will rule them with an iron scepter;

6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

What do you think the Holy Hill of Zion is dusty?  Some mountain in Tibet?  Foothills in California?

YOU are the Holy Hill... I am the Holy Hill... WE are the TEMPLE of GOD, not the WORLD...

GOD reigns IN HIS TEMPLE... Those still in the World are yet to become that TEMPLE... and are therefore OUTSIDE His "reign"... which IS MY POINT...

The Scriptures which mention the "1000yr" (symbolic) period in Revelation, do not mention that the REIGNING that CHRIST is actively doing... has anything to do with "the WORLD" (in this 1000yr symbolic period)...

Quote from: peacetroll7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

You are immersed in FEAR... go shake and tremble somewhere else dusty...

I want no part of your FEAR, nor of your unbiblical claims... both of which, emerge from the gates of Babylon...

This set of verses does not explain the 1000yr reign of CHRIST spoken of in the Revelation of JESUS CHRIST, ...which is SYMBOLIC...

And the REIGN of CHRIST in ANY instance is not OVER people OUTSIDE Him (veiled), it is over People INSIDE Him (revealed)...

The WORLD, until it is reconciled remains OUTSIDE Him (veiled) AND His rulership... and the ETERNAL state  of them (the world) INSIDE of HIM (revealed), ...is yet to be REVEALED...

Revelation happens from the INSIDE -- OUT, not in the reverse as you seem to  percieve.  :mshock:

The prophecy of the Christ carrying the government on his shoulders:

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

His throne will be the throne of David--

31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

--Luke 1

At the beginning of the thousand year reign, Satan is locked up so that he will no longer deceive 'the nations,' the whole world--

This is not talking about an individual, it is talking about the nations of the world, and right now satan deceives the whole world.

Rev 20

1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

The disciples knew the kingdom was going to be restored to Israel because they ask Christ about it--

6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

--Acts 6

They knew because of prophecy--

1Kings 9

5Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

1Kings 2

45And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.

Psalm 132

11The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

This is why those looking for the Messiah were calling him the son of David--

Matthew 1:1
The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew 9:27
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.

Matthew 12:23
And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

 Isa 2

2It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be [firmly] established as the highest of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it.

3And many people shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4And He shall judge between the nations and shall decide [disputes] for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Isa 11

1AND THERE shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David's father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit.

2And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him--the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord--

    3And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears;

4But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

5And righteousness shall be the girdle of His waist and faithfulness the girdle of His loins.

6And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and the fatted domestic animal together; and a little child shall lead them.

7And the cow and the bear shall feed side by side, their young shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8And the sucking child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den.

9They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Micah 4

1BUT IN the latter days it shall come to pass that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains; and it shall be exalted above the hills, and peoples shall flow to it.

2And many nations shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways, and we may walk in His paths. For the law shall go forth out of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

3And He shall judge between many peoples and shall decide for strong nations afar off, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

4But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and none shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken it.

5For all the peoples [now] walk every man in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.

6In that day, says the Lord, I will assemble the lame, and I will gather those who have been driven away and those whom I have afflicted.

7And I will make the lame a remnant, and those who were cast off a strong nation; and the Lord shall reign over them in Mount Zion from this time forth and forever.

27Then Peter answered Him, saying, Behold, we have left [our] all and have become Your disciples [sided with Your party and followed You]. What then shall we receive?

28Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, in the new age [the Messianic rebirth of the world], when the Son of Man shall sit down on the throne of His glory, you who have [become My disciples, sided with My party and] followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

29And anyone and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for My name's sake will receive many [even a hundred] times more and will inherit eternal life.

--Mat 19

Psalm 72

7In His [Christ's] days shall the [uncompromisingly] righteous flourish and peace abound till there is a moon no longer.

8He [Christ] shall have dominion also from sea to sea and from the River [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth.

9Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before Him and His enemies shall lick the dust.

10The kings of Tarshish and of the coasts shall bring offerings; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him, all nations shall serve Him.

12For He delivers the needy when he calls out, the poor also and him who has no helper.

13He will have pity on the poor and weak and needy and will save the lives of the needy.

14He will redeem their lives from oppression and fraud and violence, and precious and costly shall their blood be in His sight.
