Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?

Age-enduring

I enjoyed the second Link - Thomas Whittemore's biography.

I'm still wrestling with the cross, and blood sacrifice, as the means of salvation. God did not want man to do those things. Humans are 'co-creators' - with the power of Life and death, and having that capability they have to be discerned.

I do however get the idea of Jesus's perceived obedience earning him a special role or honour. I've certainly known and know Jesus from an experiential basis. I am going to ask him about the cross - if God required it, or man did it and God just went along with it.

I'd be interested to hear any revelations you have about this, if it's not something you want to post you can PM or email.

I think that's really how it works. I finally got my answer about UR after I asked him about it.

GodIsLove

I as of now absolutely don't believe God required a blood sacrifice to appease his wrath.

I think it's more along the lines of God using the cross to show his love and forgiveness. His own creation mocking, torturing and killing the human representation of Himself, without Jesus resisting, and Jesus saying "father forgive them they know not what they do" is an act of pure love on Jesus's part. I think God foreknew humanity would reject him, but that was used to show his true nature in the face of rejection, and to be a powerful symbol.

That is how God wins us all over...by witnessing and even being the recipient of our selfishness, anger, confusion etc, and still loving and forgiving us. That is more powerful than any punishment to bring about repentance and start the process of us coming back to him.

Dear Age: Our Lord has a purpose in all things. The way into Him is by way of the cross where our will is harmonized with His by at-one-ment.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Archegos & Prodromos who as the Prince-Leader opens up the Way back into our Father from whence we fell in the first Adam.

I do trust your quest for Him will lead to exploding avenues of what is exceedingly beyond all we can ask or even think.

I have my own sins of unbelief, but yes, I believe miraculous things were planned and occurred in the heavenlies.  Probably beyond our full comprehension, yet requiring our belief, trust, and submission of our own wills and fleshly thoughts.  Am reminded of this;

The Lamb slain from the foundation...He was wounded for our transgressions...In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins...For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God

In my opinion, when faith and trust in Christ come together as one, then Divine love is known and experienced – that is, experience is the knowledge, sacred words are not knowledge.

By definition, faith and trust as one banish fear to the separated world of fallen humanity.

Before Christ Jesus, those who knew the coming together of faith and trust in God knew what Divine love was and is.

To these, the expression of the love they experience is fashioned according to the output of sacred culture of their environment.

Christ Jesus was and is the expression of the culmination of Divine love. Divine love has always been, but love stops at nothing to express Itself to His fallen children! And Divine love, who expressed Himself as Christ Jesus, will save all of humanity with relative speed compared to eternity.

When Divine love finally lays them low and raises them up simultaneously, then they will not quibble about definitions of undefinable emotional power – until then their minds will wish to claim victory.

Pity them who pass through this life in the flesh and know the God who is love through the mind alone, for the lessons remain unlearnt, in my opinion.

"A few drops of blood renew the whole world, and become for all men that which rennet is for milk, uniting and drawing us into one". "Christ is like leaven for the entire mass, and having made that which was damned one with himself, frees the whole from damnation".

The Final Outcome =

The crowning glory of the ?good news" or evangel of the untraceable riches of Christ which Paul was granted the grace to bring to the gentiles or nations, is the revelation that He will reconcile all to God.

What a marvelous outcome of Gods purpose! What a wonderful Christ Who can accomplish such a complete and glorious reconciliation! All creatures, whether those on the earth or those in the heavens, reconciled in perfect peace to the great love of God through the Son of His love.

More of these untraceable honors and glories of Christ which Paul was granted the grace to reveal, could be pointed out with delight, but these will suffice to increase our faith, enrich our joy and brighten our expectation in Him in Whom our lot was cast also Christ Jesus our Lord, Life, and Head! -Adlai Loudy-

The Lord's Changeless Ways

It is argued that whatever be the meaning of the word aionios in the case of the lost, the same must be its meaning in the case of the saved; and our certainty of never-ending bliss for penitent believers is gone if the word bears not the same signification in the case of the impenitent and unbelieving. But the truth is that this word describes not the quantity or duration, but the quality of that which it is predicated.

The word which in Matt. 25:46 we translate punishment, in its primary sense means ?pruning" and is always used for corrective discipline which is for the improvement of him who suffers it. Even those who hold the common view of the endlessness of punishment are obliged to confess this; and this of itself proves that their doctrine is untenable; for any punishment, be it for a longer or shorter time would not be corrective discipline, but quite another thing if it left those who were so corrected unimproved and lost forever. But from the fall till now the changeless way of the Lord is to make even the curse a blessing. -Andrew Jukes-

"He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth. It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone."

"If I am lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me"

I agree that this is how the cross works. It is the ultimate "testimony" of God's love.

Matthew 26:28 New International Version (NIV)

28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Leviticus 17:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life.

The words "I have given it to you" are important. The words  " God required a blood sacrifice to appease His wrath" mischaracterize the sacrifice by presenting it in the narrowest possible view. God has wrath, because we dont love. That is what sin is about. Missing the mark. The mark is God's love and walking in it.

The dilemma is resolved by understanding "God so loved the world that HE GAVE His only son". His life was poured, through the shedding of His blood upon the cross, upon the whole of humanity to cleanse and redeem, which it does AS THEY RECEIVE IT, and it will continue to do so until all are redeemed, because all have received(Phill. 2:9).

Colossians 1:19-20  (NIV)

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

God was pleased, but make no mistake, it is because Jesus willingly shed His blood, and thus His life, upon the cross, for the forgiveness of sins- that all will be saved and creation set free into the glorious liberty of the children of God. God gave Him that choice, He made it (with some reluctance).

When we receive it, that sacrifice courses through our "veins" restoring and redeming our lives- our life from the inside out, heart, spirit, soul body- resurrection power that is transforming us from glory to glory into His likeness. His blood becomes our blood. His life our life- life being will, character, Spirit, love.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Thats a big if. If we walk in the light. If we love one another. If we love Him. If we do that we experience that redeeming cleansing life.

Eventually everyone who ever lived will.

8
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

9
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Paul sees, and writes here of the fulfillment of Jesus' own words...

"If I am lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me."

One might ask, "Why would God require Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son, for whom he had waited so long?"

Well to begin with- He didnt require it. Remember, Abraham was the friend of God. God needed a friend. He was showing Abraham what He was going to do. He wanted His friend to understand His pain. Once Abraham understood, felt that pain, the lesson was over, their friendship sealed and deepened. But there was no ram for our Father. His son had to die and it was planned from before the foundation of the world to reveal His love and bring futility into communion, union, harmony.

The perspective from which we view the character of God often controls "how we hear". Jesus said, "Be careful how you hear". He also said, "If the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness."

If we walk in the light as He is in the light we have "koinonea" together- union, oneness, harmony-and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

It is not an arbitrary legalistic thing of letter. It is a deep flood of His cleansing life, bearing Him, His character, His Spirit and light, through our very beings making us one till all are one in freedom and joy.

Guess we got a way to go huh?

The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. http://www.hell-is-a-myth.webs.com/

The God Of Unending Grace

"From the beginning God was and always will be a God of all grace. He purposes to be All in all of His creation; but every man in his own foreordained and previously marked out order. No doctrine is of God that does not include, 'Having made known to us the secret of His will, according to His own benevolent design, which He previously purposed in Himself: that in the fullness of the ages He will gather together in one all in Christ, both those who are in the heavens and those who are on earth, even in Him.'

It is wrong to teach that this age of grace will soon end. In our redeemed bodies we will be righteous, and in the ages to come we will be teaching the grace of God to others." -Sherwood Michael-

Jesus Reigns

"Christian tradition overlooks a key text that clearly quantifies the meaning of aion.

In 1 Corinthians 15:24, Paul tells us that Jesus will be giving up the kingdom to His God and Father. That's not an eternal reign in any possible context. The clear statement that Christ 'gives up' the kingdom defines what the Greek noun aion must mean. Jesus is God's mediator with mankind who reigns only until He gets the job done. That job is winning our conciliation with God.

Paul referred to Jesus as the eonian, not eternal God, and gave Jesus reign over specific time periods leading up to the conclusion of His reign. Clearly there is a progression of eons that have beginnings and endings. All eons end when Christ's reign ends, after which what is eternal begins." -Dusean Berkich-

"Of all the conceptions of the divine, of all the language Jesus could put on the lips of the God character in the story he tells, that's what he has the Father say. "You are always with me, and everything I have is yours." ...

Millions of people in our world were told that God so loved the world, that God sent his son to save the world, and that if they accept and believe in Jesus, then they'll be able to have a relationship with God...

But there's more.

Millions have been taught that if they don't believe, if they don't accept in the right way, that is, the way the person telling them the gospel does, and they were hit by a car and died later that same day, God will have no choice but to punish them forever in conscious torment in hell...

A loving heavenly father who will go to extraordinary lengths to have a relationship with them would, in the blink of an eye, become a cruel, mean, vicious tormentor who would ensure that they had no escape from an endless future of agony... if your God is loving one second and cruel the next, if your God will punish people for all eternity for sins committed in a few short years, no amount of clever marketing or compelling language or good music or great coffee will be able to disguise that one, true, glaring, untenable, acceptable, awful reality... sometimes the reason people have a problem accepting "the gospel" is that they sense that the God lurking behind Jesus isn't safe, loving, or good. It doesn't make sense it can't be reconciled, and so they say no... God create, because the endless joy and peace and shared life at the heart of this God knows no other way. Jesus invites us into that relationship, the one at the center of the universe... so when the gospel is diminished to a question of whether or not a person will "get into heaven," that reduces the good news to a ticket, a way to get past the bouncer and into the club.

The good news is better than that." -Rob. Bell (Love Wins)

The Magnitude of Father's Redemption

"Modern theology has so long circumvented our thinking and teaching to the biased idea that God will save only part of His creation and so limited His redemptive powers that we have forgotten that with God all things are possible and shall be wrought out in due time. God has a definite schedule for saving His creatures, and there is nothing that can withstand His purpose.

Sin was allowed for wise ends, and only after these have been secured will sin cease to exist. It is all a part of God's purpose of the ages and redemption's glory will only shine out the more after the plan's execution. God never allows sin to go beyond His transforming power. God always has everything under perfect control." -Ray Prinzing-

He has the whole world in His hands

" 'And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be Saviour of the world." (1 John 4.14.)

'Who will have ALL MEN to be saved, and to come into a knowledge of the truth' 1Tim. 2:4.

"This is not a pitting of man's will against the will of God as some try to teach, with man's will able to resist and hold out until God cannot change him, but must throw him into some eternal cesspool to be tormented.

Nay, for we read that 'He is working out all things after the counsel of His own will,' and man cannot disannul that which HE has willed. It is God's will that all shall come to Christ. He is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world

Why then shall we be so foolish as to dispute the immutability of His truth?" -Ray Prinzing-

The true basis of redemption

"God says He will reconcile all; the whole creation shall ultimately be delivered, and every created thing shall finally praise God (Revelation 5:13).

The point to note is that the final accomplishment of this purpose of God depends on Himself, and not on man.

The creature may fail, the Creator never fails; and no amount of blunders, mistakes, failures or perversions of the creature shall disarrange or thwart the plans of the Creator. This is the true basis of redemption." A.P. Adams-

The Saviour of all mankind

"To know the true and living God 'out of Whom all is' 1 Cor. 8:6, is to recognize that His purpose for His creatures can only be loving, wise, righteous, and good.

To know Jesus Christ, 'through Whom all is' 1 Cor. 8:8, is to know that God's purpose cannot fail.

Shall we who know Him and have had ours eyes opened to the glorious triumph of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ sit idly by and let reproach be heaped upon His Name without protesting?

Think how the teaching of endless punishment slanders God and Jesus Christ!

We know Christ died for all (1 Tim. 2:6).

Does God lack the goodness, the power, the love, the grace to save all?

God declares that judgment is eonian; man says it is eternal.

Let us believe God and not man." -Joseph Kirk-

Love this  Truth ...  it sets us free from the  sickness of Adam , it was always sin sickness   and struggle to get back to God and be made whole again  because in adam all are in death thinking and   refuse to obey the VOICE OF HEAVEN   and LIVE .

Abrahams thoughts were a long way off   from the truth , but it was by faith he offered up his  son , and it was his faith that pleased God  , never the sacrifice   that God had  already made  FROM the beginning .

and the angel of the Lord said in Gen 22   The LORD Provides the Sacrifice

11 Just then, the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, "Abraham, Abraham!"

"Here I am," he replied.

12"Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him," said the angel, "for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me. "

13Then Abraham looked up and saw behind him a ram in a thicket, caught by its horns. So he went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son. 14And Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. So to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."

15 And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time, 16saying, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your only son, 17I will surely bless you, and I will multiply your descendants like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the gates of their enemies. 18 And through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

I love to use the scriptures = to explain the truth being the WORD OF LIFE but it is only be the Spirit of Life do  we understand  the truth . and that is by hearing  HIS VOICE . This angel of the Lord s voice calls out from heaven
and the Mountain of the LORD  IS BLESSING
By faith , not sight nor carnal thinking
but I  believe when the  name is called twice it is to speak to the carnal as well as the spiritual mind and get us to pay attention
our offering by faith is to pay attention to  that inner VOICE .

I even found it profoundly significant how  faith in Jesus Christ being the WORD of TRUTH  as everything to build upon  this mountain of   FAITH =truth BY  blessing ,by  the anointing of the  WORD made flesh  was  used to give us a clue and choosing to obey and listen  over  anything of worldly possessions including your own offspring   or parents or anyone even your own life /soul .

JESUS said if you love mother or father over me you are not worthy of Me , GOD IS FIRST AND FOREMOST    , ALL that is in the way of that is sin or missing the mark of the higher calling and that is to obey the Lord voice and live  to rise up into the heavenly  realm by faith and know God in the SPIRIT OF EVERLASTING LIFE .

Luke 14:26
"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be My disciple.

He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Matthew 22:37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
THE  HEALING and being made whole  from the sin sickness   is to belong to GOD  completely .

the deadly wound is healed is the false image of God that has to be  destroyed  that we have made in our own minds about GOD

Revelation 13:1,2,14
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy...

Revelation 17:10
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short space.

wounded.

Ezekiel 30:24
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

all.

Revelation 17:6,8,13,17
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration...
Babylon has to fall !

all the kings of the earth  go back to the faith of Abraham and the slaughter of kings of the earth taken captive by HER  deception , it is  a religious  and corrupted  image and vision by mixing  the truth with lies .

Hebrews 7:1, NLT: "This Melchizedek was king of the city of Salem and also a priest of God Most High. When Abraham was returning home after winning a great battle against the kings, Melchizedek met him and blessed him."

and by destroying the enemies of the CROSS !!!   it is faith  like Abrahams  that  takes up the cross following GOD though it all to the end  .
Jesus is the reward  !!

The interplay of good & evil

"God is sovereign, and He controls all the interaction of evil and good, and causes all to redound to His own glory.

It is not – what was lost by the fall was to be regained by redemption, but by the interaction of the fall & redemption'

God achieves greater, wiser, nobler, and higher goals than by the Adamic race remaining in its pristine state.

Evil and good are synchronized to accomplish God's will and purpose, so that the ultimate goal shall reveal all evil transformed back into good, and all negation cancelled out by good.

Evil is allowed for wise ends, and when these are secured it must cease to exist, for God will restore all things into good.

He controls all the interaction between evil and good until His purpose of the ages is fulfilled. Then shall God be All in all." -Ray Prinzing-

The Lamb of God loses nothing.

He is the One with "un" before the word limited.

The apostle John declares the Lamb takes away the sin of the world, not some of the world, the whole ungodly world.

His at-one-ment encompasses the radical all of pas.

"He is the at-one-ment for our sins"

AND

"not our sins ONLY"

BUT

"the sins of the whole world."

Amen the Lord will guide us into all truth.. Sometimes straight to our heart and mind during the quietness of prayer.. and sometimes by other means.. but it’s SO good to know He is guiding us into all - (pas? all, every, the whole? :Chinscratch: want to look that verse up in the interlinear and see if the word is pas) ..so good to know He will guide us into all truth.

I’ve come to think of the image of “Christ Crucified” as a dramatic image strong enough.. to pierce every guilty psyche - ultimately.

Imagine if you were Mengele the nazi who experimented on 3000 twins.. Children.

Since the Lord is going to “draw all” (“pas” every, the whole  ) we know Mengele WILL reach that point of sincere, heartfelt repentance. :faint: ...The human psyche does definitely require some sort of ..sacrifice? The guilty psyche WILL punish itself. Yes?

What do you think? History is an extremely sad, sad story. I believe imperfection, disobedience - whichever we want to call it, is a literal bottomless abyss of dark potential (tho good also still exists!) And this is why we MUST learn that imperfection/disobedience simply CANNOT be done. It just can’t. It’s bad enough to consider the possibility of life as imperfect continuing on for ever and ever ...endlessly looping through ever more sad, sad doings, oppressiins, and abuses.. some extremely grave.. But it always ends up in death as the opposite of Life. Not the metaphor, but literal not existing. “The wage - result - of sin (“hamartia” “missing the mark”) is death” ..dust you are and to dust shall you return..

“All in graves will come forth.. in a resurrection of eonian life, or of eonian correction (Gr. “kolazo” Jn.5:28; Mt.25:46).

Two ages - “All will hear His voice and will come forth” (out of the graves/tombs) some “in the resurrection of life” - (which is at His return, Rev.20) and some in the resurrection of judgment“ (which is “after the thousand years”/millennium, Rev.20)

So yes this is a school if hard knocks. BUT - just how is He to have genuinely able to fully think and reason beings/children, aNd, keep paradise/perfection intact?

But God takes full responsibility. He of course cannot “die” being First Cause, thus life itself. The result of that would not be good!! But to show His sincerity.. His utter loyalty and devotion, He used the closest to that He could/can get. And Jesus having His Father’s heart! So not only a strong enough image to pierce every guilty conscience and psyche but a demonstration of His sincerity. I watched “The Passion Of The Christ”! A strong image indeed.

Also, consider this. Since God hAs to be First-Cause, He iS life itself, therefore He lives through, suffers and experiences every and all sufferings which occur, every indignation, each and every awful and horrible  thing that EVER happens.

Why?? Would He put Himself through all that? ?
