I am responding to the post in which Jason wrote that white western people are superior/chosen, there are actual devils in human form, among other things. I feel pretty uncomfortable with those statements and I wanted to share several Bible verses that refute any such claim. I know others on TM do not share this view but I worry about anyone coming to this site and reading that post and thinking it is something representative of UR or representative of what others think here.

Acts 10:34-35 New International Version (NIV)
34 Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.

Galatians 3

Does anyone else feel that the second clause of this sentence qualifies and limits the first clause. It suggests God actually favors those who 'fear him and do what's right'.  Which I don't think anyone would really find surprising but it means that showing no favoritism is probably not an absolute statement. It just means He favors things like 'justice' and 'righteousness', rather than the trivial things we show favouritism over.

In answer to your main point, I think it's pretty clear most of us find what Jason says uncomfortable. I know I find it particularly so because of the 'What if...' context he used to seem to distance himself from saying he actually believed these things even though if he doesn't, why mention them?

After reading that comment, Marie, I've taken more of a look at them and seen that it's more complicated than that, they create a completely staggered effect, meaning they fall together, right first and left first at various different times.

MusicLover - I don't think 'euphemistically' is the word you mean given what a euphemism is.

EW (who Marie didn't quote) - the hair difference wasn't one of the differences I'd noticed. I'd been drawn to how the mouth moves and how both mouths end up in different positions, and supposedly suggest a slightly different emotion, before the faint.

I'm not sure how a word that described how humans sometimes invent and/or appropriate other words in order to replace words that a listener might find tasteless and be uncomfortable hearing can be applied to emojis which exist to express emotions, any emotions in picture form.

And I think the emoticons you are using are different. The second is an indifferent 'I don't know' the second is more a 'aarrggh, I don't know, please stop asking me! I don't want to think about it'
