Keeping the Commands

Jesus said that 'the commandment was unto life" what was He talking about?  He was speaking of the original commandment

of God NOT to eat from the TOKOGAE...God give that because He wanted man to live and have life.

      Man being driven out of the Garden..lest he eat of the TOL and live forever....was  God's will until man was made a believer

  in the 'Word' of God..in that God did not want man to continue in His unbelief..eternally.

   thus the whole ministry of death..including the law.[tokogae]..shows man that God's word is TRUE/TRUTH. and to this day...

  if we shrink back to that tree.eat from it.....it kills us.  a negative contrast lesson.

  the Holy spirit convicts us of not believing in Jesus Christ.

  the positive is the tol/belief in Jesus Christ..'the Word of God".

I agree and believe that this is the essence of all spirituality.

Who among you is wise and understanding? The law was a tutor and a shadow, and as such it was good in its time. But now we have come into the reality which is Christ in you- the tree of life, bearing fruit of the Spirit. As we are renewed in the spirit of our mind, and strengthened with might by His Spirit in our inner man....as the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who is given us, we fulfill the law in the newness of the spirit- written on tablets of human hearts, the love of God. This is freedom, and it is freedom because it FULFILLS THE LAW, and transcends it.

Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is anything, but love from a pure heart.

Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

The law itself was not able to transform. It was given as a guide and a form into which Christ the reality could be poured into a consciousness of the insufficiency of any law- because of the insufficiency of any human to keep it.

Hence grace and love and a freedom that transcends the law by initiating a higher law of fellowship in Jesus Christ the Lord- transformation by the Spirit.

Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, 13 and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away. 14 But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. 15 But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; 16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, (by the Spirit, who is the Lord)".2 Cor 4

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.Rom 8

delighted you chose that 'choice' portion.  Thinking of God's command when Peter asked if they should erect 3 tents....

  'This is my Son,in whom I am well pleased..'HEAR YE HIM"   and I give you a new command..Love one another"

You are mixing up the ceremonial law with the commandments. Jesus (Yahshua) fulfilled the ceremonial law not the Commands. The Commands are what tells us what sin is.

Jesus said he fulfilled the law and the prophets. He didn't say he fulfilled some of the law and the prophets.

IF you walk by the Spirit you don't need laws to tell you what sin is. Love does no evil.
