It's an interesting site by Paul Cohen and Victor Hafichuk , who denounce ET and ED as well as many other doctrines while stating that God will save everyone, but the site also says that Christian Universalism, more specifically the articles we find here at tentmaker or at bible-truths, is also wrong because it claims that Christ has done all the work and we do not have to do anything, so to then the "false" Universalism is not Salvation.

They also complain that they were "kicked out of the Tent"

Thoughts?  :dontknow:
Micah 7:7

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

John 15:5

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

I don't know anything about these folks, but I think they're wrong if they say Christ's sacrifice wasn't enough.

"For in grace, through faith, are you saved, and this is not out of you; it is God's approach present, not of works, lest anyone should be boasting." (Ephesians 2:8,9)

Path of Truth - an interesting site.  They make some sections difficult to read by using a dark red background, and why would they do that?  They dismiss massive edifices of theology in a brief paragraph, hardly identifying who they are dissing, and headings would have helped a lot.  They seem to want to keep oh so low key.  On the other hand, they post a huge list of names of false teachers, and some are amusing, some are maybe not justifiable.  They provide no explanation, so it's almost like, "Hey folks, they're all false teachers [but us]!"  I have a few misgivings about their statement of doctrine, but mostly it is solid.

In regards to getting kicked out of the Tent, I know nothing about that, but note that they list Gary Amirault as a false teacher.  Ill think of them as the "Path of Sour Grapes."
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

They sure have a long list of folks they've judged to be false teachers. I don't know all of them, but I recognize some. I don't know everything spiritual Gary stands for, but the stuff I've seen him speak about seems right. And I think Martin Zender speaks the truth about scripture too.

a few years ago i did sort of the same thing as the OP, asked folks to discuss their site/doctrine..

one of paul's and victor's disciples came on upholding their "ministry" - long story short, then paul came on, and between the 2 of them (and their site) they started railing against people, telling them they were physically sick because they either weren't saved or in God's will (defined as their particular version of things, as they are specific "messengers of God" and the ones who are right);  that people (who were believers) didn't know God, etc....  it was not a good situation, and yes, they were and are both banned.

Tom

It sounds like that was a good move because they seem guilty of what they're accusing all those other folks of.

Tom

I've seen some squabbling here, but I think you have to be really disrespectful of other folks or the truth to get banned from here.

jabcat

their banning is no judgment on their salvation, etc...if it were possible to have a reasonable, respectful discussion, even with differences of understanding of the actual scriptures, that's one thing...but directly condemning people, passing judgment on their salvation (basically because one doesn't see things exactly as they prescribe), and talking down to people and treating them as peons (or worse) that need to straighten up and get in lock step with them, just doesn't work in this particular discussion forum   :2c:

if people want that kind of berating they can go to their blog  :sigh:

That's good because it is bogus nonsense more like a power trip than fellowship.

My disagreement is the claim of prophecy authority without the accompanying miracles. Is someone has a new word from God they claim as ordained authority, let them also perform miracles as accompanied the Apostles. I am personally wary of anyone claiming authority to speak for God after the Apostles already declared the council of God.

Tom

I agree, bro. The inspired written word of God is the authority as far as I'm concerned.

Yup and looking through their website they are all about pushing the Sabbath day observance too. They got their own issues to work out before "helping" anyone else.

Good job keeping on top of these things forum members.  Many are around claiming to be of us but are wolves in sheep's clothing IMO.

I noticed that, and that is after slamming the Seventh Day Adventists, too.  Works is works.  :punish:

May I have a link to the site if possible?

"Without me you can do nothing" does not mean there is nothing we can do  :laughing7:

However, I find it disturbing that people go around saying, "If you don't see it my way you do not have salvation".

What is this? We are simply to proclaim the gospel. As soon as we try to iron every wrinkle out of the "mystery" we become what jesus called "lawyers and scribes. hypocrites".

The inability to live with mystery and perceptions that are not exactly the same among brethren is, in my view, a symptom of elitism and sectarianism- simple religious arrogance at the three of knowledge of good and evil.. That's what I see in the Path of Truth, and i must honestly say I have seen it times on Tentmaker(but not from Tentmaker).

I have looked at the path of truth website and from what I read, they also share the greatest hope that Lord Jesus will save all of mankind. Regardless of their opinions of tentmaker, they are on the same side as we are as far as I am concerned

So, is it a "turf" thing?

Well, they have identified the Tentmaker site founder as a false teacher on their web-site and made vague fabricated claims against him and called him a deceiver in graphic exagerrated terms. That is not an evidence of unity. It is possible to kno the truth but not walk like you are in it- which they teach, but do not sem to understand.

I am not in agreement with everyone who teaches the salvation of all. I am in agreement with everyone who walks in the humility of Christ- which is the source of the salvation of all.

Phil. 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore
God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
