It's an interesting site by Paul Cohen and Victor Hafichuk , who denounce ET and ED as well as many other doctrines while stating that God will save everyone, but the site also says that Christian Universalism, more specifically the articles we find here at tentmaker or at bible-truths, is also wrong because it claims that Christ has done all the work and we do not have to do anything, so to then the "false" Universalism is not Salvation.
They also complain that they were "kicked out of the Tent"
Thoughts? :dontknow:

I don't know anything about these folks, but I think they're wrong if they say Christ's sacrifice wasn't enough.
"For in grace, through faith, are you saved, and this is not out of you; it is God's approach present, not of works, lest anyone should be boasting." (Ephesians 2:8,9)
Path of Truth - an interesting site. They make some sections difficult to read by using a dark red background, and why would they do that? They dismiss massive edifices of theology in a brief paragraph, hardly identifying who they are dissing, and headings would have helped a lot. They seem to want to keep oh so low key. On the other hand, they post a huge list of names of false teachers, and some are amusing, some are maybe not justifiable. They provide no explanation, so it's almost like, "Hey folks, they're all false teachers [but us]!" I have a few misgivings about their statement of doctrine, but mostly it is solid.
In regards to getting kicked out of the Tent, I know nothing about that, but note that they list Gary Amirault as a false teacher. Ill think of them as the "Path of Sour Grapes."
They sure have a long list of folks they've judged to be false teachers. I don't know all of them, but I recognize some. I don't know everything spiritual Gary stands for, but the stuff I've seen him speak about seems right. And I think Martin Zender speaks the truth about scripture too.
 POT you say?
a few years ago i did sort of the same thing as the OP, asked folks to discuss their site/doctrine..
one of paul's and victor's disciples came on upholding their "ministry" - long story short, then paul came on, and between the 2 of them (and their site) they started railing against people, telling them they were physically sick because they either weren't saved or in God's will (defined as their particular version of things, as they are specific "messengers of God" and the ones who are right); that people (who were believers) didn't know God, etc.... it was not a good situation, and yes, they were and are both banned.
It sounds like that was a good move because they seem guilty of what they're accusing all those other folks of.
I've seen some squabbling here, but I think you have to be really disrespectful of other folks or the truth to get banned from here.
their banning is no judgment on their salvation, etc...if it were possible to have a reasonable, respectful discussion, even with differences of understanding of the actual scriptures, that's one thing...but directly condemning people, passing judgment on their salvation (basically because one doesn't see things exactly as they prescribe), and talking down to people and treating them as peons (or worse) that need to straighten up and get in lock step with them, just doesn't work in this particular discussion forum :2c:
if people want that kind of berating they can go to their blog :sigh:
That's good because it is bogus nonsense more like a power trip than fellowship.
:( Be aware, with this current discussion occurring, someone from their camp will likely show up..

"You shall love your associate as yourself." (Leviticus 19:18; Romans 13:9; Galatians 5:14)
My disagreement is the claim of prophecy authority without the accompanying miracles. Is someone has a new word from God they claim as ordained authority, let them also perform miracles as accompanied the Apostles. I am personally wary of anyone claiming authority to speak for God after the Apostles already declared the council of God.
I agree, bro. The inspired written word of God is the authority as far as I'm concerned.
Yup and looking through their website they are all about pushing the Sabbath day observance too. They got their own issues to work out before "helping" anyone else.
Good job keeping on top of these things forum members. Many are around claiming to be of us but are wolves in sheep's clothing IMO.

"Without me you can do nothing" does not mean there is nothing we can do :laughing7:
However, I find it disturbing that people go around saying, "If you don't see it my way you do not have salvation".
What is this? We are simply to proclaim the gospel. As soon as we try to iron every wrinkle out of the "mystery" we become what jesus called "lawyers and scribes. hypocrites".
The inability to live with mystery and perceptions that are not exactly the same among brethren is, in my view, a symptom of elitism and sectarianism- simple religious arrogance at the three of knowledge of good and evil.. That's what I see in the Path of Truth, and i must honestly say I have seen it times on Tentmaker(but not from Tentmaker).
I have looked at the path of truth website and from what I read, they also share the greatest hope that Lord Jesus will save all of mankind. Regardless of their opinions of tentmaker, they are on the same side as we are as far as I am concerned

So, is it a "turf" thing?
Well, they have identified the Tentmaker site founder as a false teacher on their web-site and made vague fabricated claims against him and called him a deceiver in graphic exagerrated terms. That is not an evidence of unity. It is possible to kno the truth but not walk like you are in it- which they teach, but do not sem to understand.
I am not in agreement with everyone who teaches the salvation of all. I am in agreement with everyone who walks in the humility of Christ- which is the source of the salvation of all.
Phil. 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Amen

i don't think i'd describe it as a turf war, especially in the sense i understand it usually used.. ...personally, I'm not fighting, except to be a steward on this site, etc., and i don't think Gary struggles with them either (read, attempt to reason)
all you have to do is look at their list of "false teachers". have a couple of varying understandings/beliefs? "you don't know God" and "you're a false teacher", etc.
------
Searching... if you think you're "on the same side" with them, tell them 2 or 3 of your beliefs and see how that goes
you know the saying, live peaceably with all men as much as lies within you? sometimes it's not up to us, it's the 'other guy' that doesn't want to..
I think of "warn a contentious man...then..."

Thanks SFT,
IMO that web site has both good information and some misinformation. We must discern. I have not spent much time looking at the web site but when I see there a list of many preachers, teachers and evangelists with a link to what they decide to agree with or disagree with I find it not right. It is fair to point out scriptural errors of such people who attempt to preach the gospel, but I find their approach rather offensive. Is Christ there? I do not know.! :sigh:
yes, it's no judgment of their salvation or whether they know God or not. the scriptures say believe on Jesus and be saved. the condition of anyone's spirit before God is between them and God, especially if they confess a belief in Jesus as the crucified and risen Savior, Son of God. It's more of a situation of the forum being for specific purposes, and arguing, being rude, personally insulting, stirring dissension is not among them. of course anyone can pretty much say whatever they want on their own site, and Gary can debate them (or anyone) if he wishes..that's just not what the forum is for.. :2c:
on a personal level, i generally don't like to argue, consider it a waste of energy that can be used elsewhere, and typically try to avert doing it.

They hav Andrew Murray, Ray Prinzig, J. Preston Eby and Stephen Jones on their list. I may disagree with some things some of those brothers teach, but none of them is what I would consider a "false teacher". These people are elitist and sectarian to the utmost in my opinion.
Martin Luther?
:faint:
Jimmy Carter?
I know that God works through Jimmy!
:2c:
I think it important to remember that most of the "false apostles" of the early church believed in the salvation of all too.
"Jesus is saying to him, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life."" (John 14:6)
It seems the way or "path of truth" is stated clearly in that verse. So I think anybody who teaches that is teaching truth even though there may be some disagreement about other doctrine. It's obvious that all the folks on this site don't agree on all the doctrine discussed here, but I think we're all going through a process of coming to a better understanding of God's ways.
"Now you may not be called 'Rabbi,' for One is your Teacher, yet you all are brethren." (Matthew 23:8)
Hey Ed you need perhaps at the top of the list ad Victor Hafichuk!
I just read quickly through their "statements of faith" and their "doctrine", seems they set up just to be "brass sounding, or a cymbal tinkling;"
There are just TOO many names on that list of ministers and teachers that that site just don't care for, men who have labored at the gospel plow and given forth Truth, that the one Victor Hafichuk wants to shout against in the congregation of religious controversy. Yeah it's just my opinion. :Peace2:
I agree with the comments about the list, but aside from that, the path to truth website has a lot of good points as well. I respectfully disagree with the notion that they are self-righteous (despite the list of people who we shouldn't listen to) because they are the ones who are pointing out how Modern Christianity likes to put man in control instead of God at times.
Yet at the same time, it appears they exercise a lot of man's control in that they categorize anyone who disagrees with them as "unsaved" or "false teachers".
Being familiar with many of the teachers on their list- i would say most everyone on this site would be categorized as "false" by them.
I am not saying they are false teachers. I am saying they seem to have a veryy sectarian attitude. That's just my opinion of course.
Personally I believe anyone who teaches Law mixture with grace is a false teacher. I think Paul was clear in no uncertain terms about that. They separate out the so-called moral laws from the other ones and preserve some while being rid of the others, except for Sabbath which they call for observance. Judaizing was the whole reason Paul wrote the book of Galatians. I believe they speak falsely and that they are false teachers.

:iagree:
I agree with Seth about Paul's epistle to the Galatians and the distorted evangel. That's the problem with the church. I think it's sad when anybody preaches an exclusivist doctrine because it seems scripture is inclusive to the point of actually including all those in the universe. Scripture says believers were chosen before the disruption of the world according to God's will, not because of anything we've done, and it is only our work, or evangelizing, that will be burned up at the dais of Christ if it isn't based on the foundation of Jesus Christ. So we shouldn't be pushing a distorted evangel of grace plus works, but Christ is ultimately the judge of that. Believers are saved in grace through faith for eonian life, but those who die as unbelievers are saved by the same grace of God at the consummation of the eons. So I don't think it's a question of salvation. I don't know what specific reason the folks in question have for judging each specific person they've judged to be a false teacher, but I'm pretty familiar with Martin Zender's teaching because I used to do a little proofreading for him. His political rants bore me, but I think he's right on about scripture. So I don't know what problem the folks on the website have with him, but, if it's about universal reconciliation, I'd say they're guilty of what they're accusing other folks. That's just my humble opinion though.
