Some say the Gods of many cultures were the Nephilim, but many alien enthusiasts claim they were aliens.  Does anyone have any insight on this stuff?  Definitely, many cultures recall a time when men saw spectacular things, of which, they could only say was "God like".

Try to not be misdirected on this issue.  Your best guide is the little book "Through the Valley of Deception," by Wesley M. Clark.  So-called aliens are not our space brothers, but demons.  The ancients did not fully know what they were dealing with.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

I would be interested in knowing how you come to that conclusion   :dsunny:

I agree. A good source for a fictional novel tho, since their origins are disputable, due to the tiny , vague, bit written of them in the scriptures :o)

Sure.  Years ago, I read a LOT of books on UFO's, and noted that they appear and disappear, or should I say, wink in and out of existence.  One day it dawned on me that they were moving between the Visible and the Invisible Worlds, something mentioned in the Bible.  They also operated in the air, and I remembered the "Prince of the Power of the Air."  Later, I read Wesley Clark's book and put it all together.  At some point I got rid of all my other UFO books.

To sum up Clark's book without supporting evidence [read the book for that]:

aliens are demons
abductions are spiritual in nature
abductions can be stopped cold by the power of Jesus' Name
alien greys are hostile to the Bible and its God

You know, in the end, we as Christians, do not have to worry about all that stuff.  Think about good things...

  Laz...the same with the 'haunted house" with evil spirits.....it is a realization conciously of the evil

spirits..wanting to possess or dwell in our 'house' body/temple. IMO I think on the subconcious level,we

sense this internal struggle/enmity within ourselves[good/evil godliness/godlessness] when evil begins taking

over disruption of happiness, strife, damage  suffering etc..even possible death manifests.

in the movies it takes a priest ,holy water, and exorcism or some type of spiritual warrior..[men of faith].to 'help'

the inexpierenced or hapless victim. In reality it takes our High Preist,Jesus Christ/faith in His name....

Holy spirit and counsel assist of men of faith to help us wrestle with these powers and principalities

of wickedness that want to 'rule' in our flesh.       my :2c: :2c:

where this comes from are those who say that the angels who kept not their first estate--but left their own habitation

Peter deals with the same thing also--in every example hes giving is dealing with Men.

So who were the angels(Ministers) that left their first estate--all the examples peter gave was in the old testament--let us go find it

Angel(Minister)can also apply to men as we see in Revelations

Numbers 16---we find Korah,Abiram.and Dathan---these men gathered themselves together against Moses

verse 9 states that they were to Minister unto the congregation---they were angels(Ministers)

they left their first estate of ministering to the congregation and came against Moses to try and over throw his position as leader

read the whole chapter of numbers 16 for the rest of the story---those men was swallowed alive in to the ground that opened up for them  :dsunny:

I'm with Laz on this.. tho I've not read the book.. I researched..

Found out Aleister Crowley (famed satanist) and L. Ron Hubbard (Scientology founder) did rituals together to "bring entities from another dimension through portals to the earth" (dark entities, imo)

..and by what we see on planet earth i think we have plenty of these (dark) entities quite active already!

But they say they brought through someone called "Lam" a gray entity with big eyes and head, much like the popular green ones in ufo subculture..

I read a book and watched a show called "Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind" (I believe is the name) and was struck with the absolute terror ppl felt when under hypnosis to remember their abductions..

It's my belief this is building into a peak/culmination of the strong delusion we know as 'evolution as our origins'.. and a return to man's looking to the stars as they did long ago atop Babble Tower.. the spiraling levels of 'enlightenment'.. etc.. Now as E.T.'s, and channeling, coming to help and enlighten mankind...

Satanism says satan was a liberator.. that he was from the serpent 'gods' (evolutionary advanced) who 'seeded the earth' and who in turn came from the dragon 'gods' (even higher evolutionary advanced?) ..a liberator from that mean God who hid wisdom from man, but to disobey/eat fruit from the one forbidden tree would be to be like God or 'gods' knowing all..

There was a clip in the documentary "Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind" which was (supposedly) a recording of a voice and in it one could hear the e.t. saying it was a (serpent?) god from ancient Canaan.. And it did make my hair bristle to hear..

(But) I believe nephilim (along with Neanderthals/Cainites with prominent brow) were wiped out by the flood..

Unfortunately for you+, the Hebrew Scriptures itself thoroughly disputes that assumption.
Not just an isolated verse as  many likely assume.

:2c:
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Marie, I just re-read your post, and felt the need to share a sense of caution with you in regard to research.  There are a number of subjects on the "dark side" which I have researched into just far enough to know that I didn't need or want to look any further.  Remember that that which is seen cannot be unseen, and we can be changed by what we see, examine, and know.  I recall the words of an author whose name escapes me, who said about black magic, "...DO NOT INQUIRE INTO IT, and avoid like the plague anyone you know to be actively involved in it."  Christians, universalist or otherwise, need to avoid certain areas - areas to know just well enough to avoid.  That is my advise.

Very good advice Laz and I agree wholeheartedly.

micah7:9

My question is simple, imo, WHY would a believer in Jesus Christ washed in the Blood, baptized unto His Death, walking in the Spirit, and seeking with hope the Kingdom of God...even bother to delve into such things?

sheila

...she said   'YEARS AGO"   if we would all but look back to our own 'years ago" I'm sure we all could

be asked the same big 'WHY?" on a lot of things.

the dragon/serpent..always decieves best the young/naive/babe...who has not yet learned to discern...

but on His Holy Mountain..the infant will place his hands in the nest of a serpent and not be harmed...

Authority in handling and trampling serpents and scorpions  is given unto the followers of Christ....

Lots of angels appearing to people at various times and the heavenly host appearing to the shepherds and singing 'glory to God in the highest'.
Not nephilims but they are extra terestrials.  :Chinscratch:

Curiosity, until you realise you should look no further, and more importantly, to know who your enemies are.  That is how Laz becomes as wise as a serpent, yet I'm safe as milk, or harmless as a dove...

If you don't know your enemy without that kind of curiosity, you don't know the enemy.

On the other hand, sometimes those who you were taught to believe were your friends actually consider you worthy of death.  Conversely, you sometimes find that those castigated by all as evil are in fact the champions of all that is good and decent.

Why exactly is that unfortunate for me whitewings? The greeks thought hercules was a demigod. Is that what you believe? Dionisus, the supposed father of wine was made into a god. Adam became Atan. History is full of the diefying of people and characters. The hebrew says "great men" What special insight do you have that says angels had sex with womenkind? Considering that everything breeds with its own kind? Using that hebrew scripture they would have to be men. And lets not forget the alien aspect of the question. Do the hebrew scriptures support that nonsense as well? Please enlighten us.
