Quoteif there still needs to be something done--we are still living in some shadows of some of the Sabbaths and not the realities

That's not what Jesus said. He didn't say that his followers must follow the Law until all is fulfilled. If he said that, you must go be circumcised physically. What he said is that the jots and tittles will not pass. I was never under the Law as a Gentile according to the flesh. Therefore, I was not following the jots and tittles at all, even though they hadn't passed. Therefore, the fact that they have not passed, does not mean all his followers are following the Law.

As I said, the jots and tittles may stay, but that doesn't mean that the contract is BINDING. It's only binding upon them who are married to their sin. Those jots and tittles are still binding...ONLY UPON THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE TO SIN.

When Jesus kills the old man, the jots and tittles, while not passed, are NOT binding, because we have been resurrected under a new contract under the Spirit. That old contract is still there, but not applicable to those who are dead to sin.

Seth

Read the first few paragraphs of Romans 7.

why do you keep bringing up circumcision---I have never in any posts mentioned anything about circumcision or us having to have it ??

What do you think the Laws were that were put in our minds and written in our hearts ??

Seth

If we don't have to be circumcised physically, that is because the reality has come within the believers. That's the same reason we don't have to observe sabbath days. The reality of that "rest" that the Law was symbolizing has come in the form of Christ within us.

Because he is within us, he has released us from the jots and tittles, and they are not binding. We are now free from the letter to follow the Spirit. We are under NO obligation to follow shadows, because "the body is of Christ."

The Body is here as a current reality.

Notice he doesn't say "those are things having a shadow of things to come, but the second coming of Christ is the reality."

No. He says they are "having a shadow, but the body is of Christ."

The body casts the shadow. Nothing there indicates that Paul was talking about the shadows representing the second coming of Christ. Brother, Christ's BODY is HERE. He IS, was and will be.

have you ever studied what the Sabbaths represent and what Shadows  of things to come they are ?

Seth

do you mean other people's opinions about what they represent?or do you mean the Scripture itself?

think that the Spirit is gonna lead you against that which is Holy and Good ???

will the spirit lead you to Sin ??

Just because you are not under the law---does that give you the right to transgress it ???

being freed from the law and not under it--means that you are no longer facing that Death Penalty that the law had pronounced on you---Yahshua has freed us from that

the law no longer hath dominion over you---it cant pronounce DEATH on you for breaking it

paul said plainly shall we Sin(transgress the law) because we are under grace and not under law----YAH forbid it

We establish the law

Brother just because we are no longer under the grip of the law that was to condemn us to DEATH--we now have mercy---Grace and are under it

For Yah saith himself--for I(YAH) am HOLY---be you also HOLY

The law is Good and Holy    :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:

tell me what each Sabbath represents then

Seth

the Sabbath is a shadow. The body is of Christ. There you have it.did the Jewish mind accept that? No, the Jewish mind rejected it.

I think where our non agreement is at is what Under the law actually means

Seth

the Spirit does not inspire us to follow the letter. It inspires us to love our neighbor. No moral codes and no living in the shadow

exactly

if we be led of the Spirit--were not under the law--meaning we are not doing what we do trying to earn favor and Life from Yah---we already have been given Life freely
the spirit leads us to do Righteous and Holy works---we now do what we do because we LOVE Yah--not because we are under bondage of the law  :dsunny:

do you know that the 2 LOVE commandments came directly from the old testament ?? I can look them up and post them later---everything that was taught and written in the new came from the old   :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:

Seth

if there is no punishment then then no Christian is obligated to follow the Sabbath as a literal day.. Obligation has disappeared

true we are freed from DEATH---but we are also going to be judged according to our works as paul explains it
Now what are considered Good Works ??? are they not after that which is Good and Holy ??

Seth

nobody will be judged for not keeping the Sabbath as a literal day
