IMO The vision of the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel is a multi layered prophesy revealing aionian truths about how God works among His people, like, How the prophetic word precedes the outpouring of the Spirit(see John 3:3-8), and how the outpouring of the Spirit precedes the "restoration of all things"(see Acts 2:32-Acts 3:19).

Trying to tie it to one specific event is, IMO unverifiable within the scriptures. I am not saying it cannot be related to some eventual event among the Jews- I am saying it cannot verified conclusively- it is an interpretation.

The truth in Ezekiel's vision speaks loudest to me about how the Lord is going to raise up the man-child company and restore the body of Christ as we enter the depths of the last days.

That's my interpretation- and in my opinion, only one of several layers within the prophecy. Thats why Ezekiel saw "wheels within wheels with eyes all around"- that's the way the Word of God works.

Which "wheel" is the "right" wheel? If you take one wheel out of a gryoscope, will it continue to balance? It is the tension between the wheels that gives the gyroscope its power to hold a line. This (IMO) is why there is so much confusion and disagreement. Each side of the debate holds a legitimate Wheel, but the Wheels must be "JOINED AND ACTIVATED" before they FUNCTION TOGETHER and create balance.

How can that happen? Where is that place when the dry bones join and become sinewed and march out as the army of the Lord?

Prophecy to the wind, "Come O Wind"

The wind blows where it wills and you hear the sound of it but you don't kno from whence it comes or where it will go- SO IT IS with EVERYONE who is born of the Spirit. Hmmm

When the Spirit of truth comes He will teach you all things- When? After He fills you with the fulness of Christ.

Jesus Christ, Full of grace and truth, and of His fulness have we ALL received, with grace upon grace(exponentially multiplying grace).

And Great Grace Was Upon Them ALL And The Word Of The Lord Grew And Multiplied, Hmmmmm

And The Lord Added Daily To The Church Such As Were Appointed To Salvation Hmmmmmmm

Oh yeah, that was back in the days when God worked by His Spirit- He doesnt do that any more- now He works by the mighty minds and mouths of men.

I long for the good ol days meself HeHe :shakepoint:

14 We know that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and present us with you. 15 Indeed, everything is for your benefit, so that grace, extended through more and more people, may cause thanksgiving to increase to God's glory.

16 Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary light affliction[c] is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. 18 So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Your dead will live; their bodies will rise.
Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust!
For you will be covered with the morning dew,[c]
and the earth will bring out the departed spirits.

Wow Daj, those are two DYNOMITE verses, amen?

I can see the whole creation redeemed from start to finish right there :o)

He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."
(Mat 13:33)

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.
(Eph 1:9-10)

And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."
(Rev 5:13)

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
(Joh 12:32)

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
(Rev 21:5)

My arguments for why the valley of dry bones refers to a specific end times event

1)I am a literal reader of the Bible

2)The Bible has to be able to be read literally, even if a spiritual component is then added on

3)It is describing a resurrection in a particular place, a valley in Jerusalem

4)Ezekiel is present which means it is right before or at the return of the Lord

5)An army is being raised up.  This does not include women and children.

6)God putting his spirit in them will be the fulfillment of an earlier prophecy where he says he will give the house of Israel and the house of Judah his spirit

7)The prophecy ends with the houses of Judah and Israel being reunited--two sticks in one hand--and living peaceably forever in the land given to them by God

8)Each one of these details can be fleshed out by scripture.

Therefore Jacob's iniquity will be purged in this way,
and the result of the removal of his sin will be this:
when he makes all the altar stones
like crushed bits of chalk,
no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.

I am Yahweh, that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another
or My praise to idols.
The past events have indeed happened.
Now I declare new events;
I announce them to you before they occur."

One other thing about the valley of dry bones.

These bones have not been buried.   They are lying there on the valley floor bleached out by the sun.  It is as though a great army has fallen there and just left to lie and decompose where they fell.  This would happen rather quicklly in desert conditions, so I am expecting that it will look as if this army has been defeated completely.   Then they will be raised back to life.  The thought of this gives me chills.  Can you imagine the horror this will strike into the hearts of their enemies who thought they had won the battle?

I wonder if this end time scripture goes with it--

8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

..well..the other day it occurred to me..that this is connected with Jesus speaking of Pharisees and sadducees

appearing as white-washed graves...FULL OF DEAD MEN'S BONES...and Paul's saying that all these

all Israel shall be saved...along with Gog's crowd[deceived of satan] that encamp against the camp of the Holy city

dead mens bones are spiritually dead men............covered with their 'graven' images..just as those bones

are exposed to the sun..moon stars

I appreciate your commitment to the literal applications of the scriptures, Molly, even when I disagree with your interpretation of them :o)

Then the Lord God said to the serpent: Because you have done this, you are cursed more than any livestock and more than any wild animal. You will move on your belly and eat dust all the days of your life.

You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust."

The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but the serpent's food will be dust! They will not do what is evil or destroy on My entire holy mountain," says the Lord.

You return mankind to the dust, saying, "Return, descendants of Adam.
For in Your sight a thousand years are like yesterday that passes by,like a few hours of the night.
You end their lives; they sleep. They are like grass that grows in the morning—
in the morning it sprouts and grows;by evening it withers and dries up.

This happens concerning people, so that God may test them and they may see for themselves that they are like animals." 19 For the fate of people and the fate of animals is the same. As one dies, so dies the other; they all have the same breath. People have no advantage over animals since everything is futile. 20 All are going to the same place; all come from dust, and all return to dust. 21 Who knows if the spirit of people rises upward and the spirit of animals goes downward to the earth? 22 I have seen that there is nothing better than for a person to enjoy his activities because that is his reward. For who can enable him to see what will happen after he dies?[f]

and the dust returns to the earth as it once was,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
