because of what Jesus did .

My body and soul were so entrenched in the teachings of good and bad.
That even today my spirit has call to on the holy spirit
for help in convincing my body and soul that every thing
is ok between me and God.

Makes me think the death of Jesus was that sword.
The moment He died the curtain that divides 2 rooms was torn open.

What do you think?
Is He in everyone? I mean everyone?
Could it be that when Holy Spirit was given to diciples in pentecost, it was actually given to whole humankind, to everyone?
Could it be that everyone has Holy Spirit, but are not aware of that they do?

I feel in my heart that that might be true.

Church is there to help people to become aware of that god allready is with them?

This scripture seems pretty specific that's it's only believers who have the Holy Spirit in them.

John 7:39 Now He said this about the Spirit, which those
who believed in Him, were about to get (for the Pure Spirit hadn't been
given yet, because Yesu hadn't been glorified yet).

Well put, dago--I too stumble over patterns of good/bad thinking about myself and sometimes it is almost imossible to believe God is ok with me. Praise God that the HS convicts us of our righteousness in Christ.

Well, I think I've been given things not considered(or studied) before. Haven't read most of this topic, but a couple verses to list:

John 1
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name

It says He gives them the power(ability) to become the Sons of God. It does not say that was not there before they received Him. It says the darkness did not comprehend the light, not that there was no light. And, it says that He lights EVERY MAN, not just those who received Him.

Please note, I still don't see this meaning that everyone is saved already. You still have to call and believe on His name, etc. But it seems that does not mean He does things only with certain people. How else would God restrain the world of evil? Physically? No, you don't see people doing acts of evil, then suddenly freezing(well, sometimes this does happen by Angels).

They stop because they know it is wrong! How do they know that? Who convicted them? Themselves? No, because they are in darkness! The Spirit did that. There is a growing problem I have with there being "no consciousness in the Spirit." I am finding more and more witnesses that say otherwise. It is only traditions of man that had me believe that.

What about miracles, where God uses even people other than believers? Who else told them what to do, or healed them? They may not comprehend the light shining on them, or know where it came from, or who convicts them of wrong. That does not negate the light shining on them though.

Maybe the secret is the Holy Spirit vs. just the Spirit. One sanctifies, etc. the person, and the other God uses on people, but in more limited ways, until they are a believer. Then they are sanctified, etc.

On verse 1, only the Holy Spirit, or the Spirit?

Romans 8
27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.

1 Corinthians 2
10these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

I just remembered, when I said "How do they know that? Who convicted them?" this verse comes to mind:

Genesis 3
11And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"
