any scriptural evidence the feast days etc. will return?
The three fall feasts have not yet been fulfilled.  Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles.

The 8th day man.   The resurrection of the dead.
I know but how exactly does that tie for example to circumcision? Was Jesus "dead" the first 7 days of His life?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

The Jews haven't been celebrating those all these years?  Or are you talking about their future fulfillment?

I'm talking about ritually observing them as having some necessary spiritual significance.

I've long thought Adam was the 8th day man, the image of the one to come.

He's the first man to receive the Holy Spirit, the first man placed in the garden, the first priest.

Adam is created on the 8th day.   The circumcision is set apart.

Jesus fulfilled the spring feasts 2000 years ago.

He will fulfill the fall feasts at the second coming.

OK, thanks.  So you're talking about the future fulfillment, not [necessarily] ceremonially/ritual observance.  I just personally basically see us more in a spiritual time now ["we no longer know Him after the flesh"].

I had already typed the following -

As far as Christians needing to ritually observe the Jewish holy days;  again, maybe there's some things I don't understand about it, and God will show me more later.  But I pretty much hold dear the following from Collosians 2;

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not[d] seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.
20 Therefore,[e] if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations— 21 "Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle," 22 which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

I've lived legalism/ritualism, and I don't like it.  I seek the freedom of relationship in Christ.  Step-by-step :)

Blessings.

I'm not saying you are wrong because I read that view fairly often. I wonder how fulfilled is determined.
For example the 8th day of Jesus life was Day of Atonement. Baptism during Tabernacles. And of course teh topic of this thread He was born during the Feast of trumpets.

For example it sounds like Tabernacles already was fulfilled.

"In Amos 3:7, God declared He would do nothing without first revealing it to His servants, the Prophets. From Genesis to the Revelation, He provides picture after picture of His entire plan. One of the most startling prophetic pictures is outlined in the Jewish Feasts in Leviticus 23.

God speaks to us throughout the Bible by creating pictures. The Feasts in Leviticus 23 are a picture of God's complete plan for the earth. They are also a prophetic time table. There are seven Feasts; four have been fulfilled. Each fulfillment occurred on the exact day and month that the Feast was to be celebrated."

Feast of Passover
Feast of Unleavened Bread
Feast of Firstfruits
Feast of Pentecost
Feast of Trumpets
Day of Atonement
Feast of Tabernacles

They celebrate the every year. Just Google for: When is ..... 2011 and you will find many Judaism site with dates and explantions. Although it obviously are Jewish sites they often quote OT verses so also good for Christians to read imo.

Yes, I understand.  But I mean for us.

We have already received the forgiveness of the cross [Passover] through the Holy Spirit given at Pentecost.

Now we await his return with trumpets, his appearing a second tine without sin to salvation [Atonement], and the redemption of our bodies [Tabernacles].

The second coming is the first resurrection.  Then Jesus and his saints rule and reign for a thousand years.

[For us literalists.]

Molly

The first four of the seven feasts occur during the springtime (Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Weeks) and they all have already been fulfilled by Christ in the New Testament. The final three holidays (Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles) occur during the fall, all within a short fifteen-day period.

Many Bible scholars and commentators believe that these fall feasts have not yet been fulfilled by Jesus. However, the "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13) for all believers in Jesus Christ is that they most assuredly will. As the four spring feasts were fulfilled literally and right on the actual feast day in connection with Christ's first coming, these three fall feasts, it is believed by many, will likewise be fulfilled literally in connection to the Lord's second coming.

In a nutshell, here is the prophetic significance of each of the seven Levitical feasts of Israel:

1) Passover (Leviticus 23:5) – Pointed to the Messiah as our Passover lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7) whose blood would be shed for our sins. Jesus was crucified on the day of preparation for the Passover at the same hour that the lambs were being slaughtered for the Passover meal that evening.

2) Unleavened Bread (Leviticus 23:6) – Pointed to the Messiah's sinless life (as leaven is a picture of sin in the Bible), making Him the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Jesus' body was in the grave during the first days of this feast, like a kernel of wheat planted and waiting to burst forth as the bread of life.

3) First Fruits (Leviticus 23:10) – Pointed to the Messiah's resurrection as the first fruits of the righteous. Jesus was resurrected on this very day, which is one of the reasons that Paul refers to him in I Corinthians 15:20 as the "first fruits from the dead."

4) Weeks or Pentecost (Leviticus 23:16) – Occurred fifty days after the beginning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and pointed to the great harvest of souls and the gift of the Holy Spirit for both Jew and Gentile, who would be brought into the kingdom of God during the Church Age (see Acts 2). The Church was actually established on this day when God poured out His Holy Spirit and 3,000 Jews responded to Peter's great sermon and his first proclamation of the Gospel.

5) Trumpets (Leviticus 23:24) – The first of the fall feasts. Many believe this day points to the Rapture of the Church when the Messiah Jesus will appear in the heavens as He comes for His bride, the Church. The Rapture is always associated in Scripture with the blowing of a loud trumpet (I Thessalonians 4:13-18 and I Corinthians 15:52).

6) Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27) – Many believe this prophetically points to the day of the Second Coming of Jesus when He will return to earth. That will be the Day of Atonement for the Jewish remnant when they "look upon Him whom they have pierced," repent of their sins, and receive Him as their Messiah (Zechariah 12:10 and Romans 11:1-6, 25-36).

7) Tabernacles or Booths (Leviticus 23:34) – Many scholars believe that this feast day points to the Lord's promise that He will once again "tabernacle" with His people when He returns to reign over all the world (Micah 4:1-7).

Praise Yeshua Ha'Mashiach!

The word feast means 'appointment.'

It's just amazing that the first four feasts were fulfilled on the appointed day and time.

You have to admit that it's interesting though that God picked an Old Testament scholar [Paul] to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles.

He was the most studied in the scripture of all the apostles.

I have my own feelings about that, but there is no doubt that Paul, who studied under Gameliel, understood every part of the Old Testament.  He's always quoting it and referring to it and showing how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Messiah and so forth.   There is no doubt that he had the Old Testament memorized.

When they refer to scripture in the New Testament, they are talking about the Old Testament, because there was not yet any New Testament complied.

I understand what you are saying.  But, these feasts are pretty exciting stuff to study.  Especially since we are still waiting for the last three.

Imo the most important day is not the 2nd coming but the atonement that follows. IIRC the day of atonement is the most important Jewish festival of all.

When setting your hopes grab a calendar. You can bet on it the Sabbath and Jubilee cycles will be of great importance.
Many (maybe all) key events are aligned with Sabbath and Jubilee years. So you chances are one in every 7 (or 6) years  :laughing7:

ww, your reference to the calender days changed to pagan days..and feasts...reminded me of a scripture in Daniel..regarding one who would

  try and change 'times'

the revelation of Christ has much to do with 'trumpets' and days of awe and atonement[removal of sin/tares/scapegoat/judgements/one mind

with Christ and God[His HIGH THOUGHTS OF TRUTH/RIGHTEOUSNESS/JUDGEMENTS/MERCY} Sabbath[as 1000yr reign] and 8th day circumcision

in relationship withgog's nations surrounding camp of Holy city[son of perdition going into everlasting 'cutting off' same as circumcision of nations that trample

That queen of heaven seems to be Isthar/Easter. I think Mary mother of Jesus in RCC is actually Isthar. I see plenty chicken and bunny shaped cakes, bread, cookies around easter.

Sounds that way but I find it impossible to fit it in a future end time event because it started at the time of Nimrod.
Verse 27 seems to link "His people" to the keeper of the correct days. That makes things even more impossible. His people are the Christians who stopped celebrating at Constantin's time. It's the Jews that always kept the times but aren't Christians.

It is thought the Pilgrims based the first Thanksgiving on Tabernacles.  They celebrated it at the same time of year, and although not for 7 days but for 3, it was celebrated in the same spirit of thanksgiving to God that Sukkot is fashioned.   They were of course very grounded in the Old Testament and sought to base the laws of their new colony, which they considered the promised land, on the OT laws of God.

The timing of Thanksgiving was later changed to November, but it is a national holiday.

So, yes, until the atheists figure it out and come after it, we will continue to celebrate Tabernacles as a nation,  in secret and impunty, knowing full well it is a holiday appointed by God.

In the end, the enemies of Jerusalem who survive the plague will go up to Jerusalem each year to worship the King, the LORD of Heaven's Armies, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. {Zech 14:16}
