Micah, is it possible that you are over-reaching the extent of the natural then spiritual verse?  Here it seems that invisible/spiritual is first then natural, which obviously God is spirit so it would have to be first.

Possibly the natural then spiritual relates to types/ patterns or in relating to showing us the way home, whereas overall spirit then natural relates to the cosmic order (for lack of a better term)????

There is no overreaching, Heb 11:3  Through faith we understand that the worlds came into being, and still exist, at the command of God, so that what is seen does not owe its existence to that which is visible. And you look at that visible or appear as spirit?

This is hard for a spirit to do, I think??? Heb 9:27  And since it is reserved for all mankind once to die, and afterwards to be judged;

1Co 15:16  For if none of the dead are raised to life, then Christ has not risen;
See that the operative word "dead," the need to die. As far as I know spirits dont die. And Jesus became a man so He could die. Yes God is Spirit and out from that very spirit follows EVERYTHING that is, birds, cattle, crickets, cockroaches, spiders, snakes, mountains, valleys, rivers, EVERYTHING, I do not see them as being spirits first, yet them came from what the Spirit has done.

Micah, I think this is about birth in two stages.
First man is born from the mothers womb (water)
The man sorta breaks out of the womb.
Inside that man is a spirit. Mostly sleeping I would say.
But for some people that spirit wakes up. For examply by reading your posts  :winkgrin:
Then that spirit breaks out of the body.
That's the second birth.

Just like you were really Micah before you were born, you didn't manifest yourself until you were actually born.

We do indeed have the earnest of the spirit even now. 

Eph 1:12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

We do not innately possess "the earnest of the spirit", yet that 'earnest' is all we have "until the redemption of the purchased possession", which is the spiritual body we receive only when "it is raised a spiritual body", not when it was a spiritual body to begin with.

1Co 15:46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

"If there is no resurrection from the dead then they that are asleep in Christ are perished". Those words are a lie if we are originally immortal spirit bodies.

    but when the commandment came.SIN SPRANG TO LIFE AND I DIED [Romans 7;9]  ....for sin[evil spirit] seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment

   ,deceived me,and through the commandment put me to death...

    but in order that sin might be recognized as sin,it produced death in me,through what was good

   to be spiritually alive..is to have a life quickening spirit[note John the Baptist in womb/leaping] as Christ had/life in himself..it quickens a mortal body

  to be spiritually dead..is to see corruption..

.now..at the judgement...they are judged for their works...and we know that the prince of this world's works are evil

  a few words about sin's law....when a son disobeys[or an evil spirit can deceive/bribe him in to it] sin's law enter's in and brings forth corruption and death

  examine how it entered into Adam and Eve...and how it attempted to in Christ's temptation by satan.
