Luke 17
20 Now, being inquired of by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God is coming, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God is not coming with scrutiny.
21 Neither shall they be declaring 'Lo! here!' or 'Lo! there!' for lo! the kingdom of God is inside of you."
22 Yet He said to His disciples, "Coming will be days when you will be yearning to perceive one of the days of the Son of Mankind, and you shall not see it.
23 And they shall be declaring to you, 'Lo! there!' or 'Lo! here!' You may not come away, nor yet should you be pursuing.
24 For even as the lightning, flashing out from here under heaven to there under heaven, is shining, thus will be the Son of Mankind in His day.
25 Yet first He must be suffering many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 "And according as it occurred in the days of Noah, thus will it be in the days of the Son of Mankind also.
27 They ate, they drank, they married, they took out in marriage, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came and destroys them all.
28 "Likewise, according as it occurred in the days of Lot, they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built.
29 Yet on the day in which Lot came out from Sodom, fire and sulphur rains from heaven and destroys them all.
30 In accord with these will it be on the day in which the Son of Mankind is unveiled.

1) the destruction of the temple/temple worship and the full revealing of the age of grace?

2) something yet future?

3) another option/general thoughts?
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Luk 17:20 ΒΆ And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

Luk 17:21   Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

if anyone waitoing for NJ to comes from the Heavens unto earth[ which it does spiritually]  in the natural sense-- for mine they will wait a very LONG time---

Hbr 9:26   For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Hbr 9:27   And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Hbr 9:28   So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation

so some thoughts triggered by your post Taf.

the crucifixion and resurrection began the Days of the Son of Mankind?

so we're already currently "in those days"?

seems most of mainstream sees these passages (and Matthew 24 - which I personally believe was AT LEAST mostly fulfilled) are future, and they teach it means the rapture/tribulation/armageddon, etc. - ("Left Behind")     So it makes me wonder then about the end of this age and where the next age fits in and what it will look like...

I have a sense of history, and history rolls itself out in a linear fashion which, in the general, and in truth, is the same for all men.  To that end, I believe God has chosen to speak to us through the history of man, and in these last days through his Son.

I believe Jesus did walk the earth 2000 years ago, in the context of this history, that he was crucified, dead, and raised from the dead.  And, that he will return at a set time in the future, ushering in a new age of history.  Whatever else is going on spiritually in the lives of individual men, I believe in the absolute, literal truth of these facts.

16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

for mine Jab the answer to  those two questionS is YES -the resurrection within---  :2c:

:2c:   having looked down on HIS mother" behold WOMAN your """"SON"""", speaks Not just of the slaying of the old man in US\serpent Jhn 3:14  [ I cant help but see a Transition]  but the beginning of the RESURRECTION of HIM in US--    THE LORD  says to the disciples in the next VERSE-- Recall MARY means REBELLION a SYMBOL of the Old eve \

WOMAN a symbol of old Jerusalem= our eve   - MOTHER a symbol OF NEW JERUSALEM [ THE mother OF US ALL= HIM IN US]

Then He said to the" disciple", "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that "disciple "took her to his own home.

WE are
that DISCIPLE-

A TYPE

And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name [was] Manoah; and his wife [was] barren, and bare not.

Jdg 13:3   And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou [art] barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

THE barren MIND OF THE eve - OUR CARNAL MAN-

Luke 19:9
And Jesus said unto him, This DAY is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham

The "DAY" HE speaks of IS HIM.. its just not another day of the week-- HE is THE "DAY", THE LIGHT of our SALVATION-

Sorry, I don't think it's mere coincidence that the wailing wall in Jerusalem still stands, as a testimony, that the temple is Yet to be destroyed.

Jesus said , not one stone shall be left unturned.

If the wall is not part of the temple, then it means the temple was destroyed. Unless there is a hidden part, somehwhere , perhaps inside an archeological dig.

But there needs to be solid evidence of it being a Roman fortress.

WhiteWings

Imo there is solid historical evidence evidence.
The dome of rock is build over the Roman fortress not the Temple.
Like always there is disagreement but there are several views that the Temple was not where the dome is now.

Quote from: TTthat the temple is Yet to be destroyed.

YLTMatthew 24

I would take the first or second choice, but if it is finished, then I would be dreadfully disappointed that this world is the best that Jesus can do.

Somebody should tell the Israeli's that.

QuoteThere may not be left here a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.'

That looks like a pretty good prediction for 70 ad.  Unless you can prove otherwise.

They know.
Several teams are investigating but don't agree on the location.
They have at least 2 alternative locations.

The Jews are already making Temple artifacts.
Maybe they will build a 3rd Temple so the Anti Christ can sit in it and fulfill Revelation.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be the Sons of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.

That is true, but--

--1 John 3

We're not like him yet.

"appear"

G5319
φανερόω
phaneroō
fan-er-o'-o
From G5318; to render apparent (literally or figuratively): - appear, manifestly declare, (make) manifest (forth), shew (self).

Beloved Servant

I don't understand the purpose/motive of your post, Molly.

I don't understand the purpose/motive of your post, Molly.
The purpose is to point out that the Gospel writer, although he says we are sons of God, still maintains that it is not yet manifested what we shall be and it won't be manifested until Jesus appears.

Thus we wait, along with all creation, for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Matthew 24:27
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Molly we are all the Children of the MOST HIGH namely Gods elohym ,

Ps 82 6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Its seems to me John is mentioning that some may no be aware of the APPEARING [ the birthing of the SON] in them

the FLESH[ carnal mind] Profits NOTHING -- as HE is the SPIRIT of LIFE within---

John 6:63
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are LIFE.

Kinda brings us back to those verses we were talking about yesterday
THIS for me is about the LORD judging HIS Children and the BIRTHING[ ARISE] of the son with IN--- so even the CHILDREN of God LIKE princes shall fall as """"MEN"""

Psa 82:1  [[A Psalm of Asaph.]] God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Psa 82:2   How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah

Psa 82:3   Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Psa 82:4   Deliver the poor and needy: rid [them] out of the hand of the wicked.

Psa 82:5   They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Psa 82:6   I have said, Ye [are] gods; and all of you [are] children of the most High.

Psa 82:7   But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

WHAT AN AWESOME verse----
Psa 82:8   Arise, O God,[ WITHIN THE hearts of men] judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
