That's an interesting sentence, isn't it?  They all look pretty much like equals to me, with the exception that one of them is judging the others.

Why is this?

Let's be specific here.  Why doesn't God have the nations now?  Who is going to inherit the nations with God?  When?

   to gods they had never known,
to new gods that had come recently,
