Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

What if he who is without sin is also without stones?  :dontknow:
Then spit [in the dirt and put it on the other's eyes.]

But what if they have logs in their eyes? How do you get past them to get the dirt in? Man I hate when that happens!

It's not the logs in other's eyes I should be worried about . . .but the logs in my own.

Does two baits make a troll?

"An Internet troll is a person who sends duplicitous messages to get angry responses. The term derives from the phrase "trolling for suckers" and ultimately from trolling for fish. The term is frequently abused to slander opponents in heated debates and is frequently misapplied to those who are ignorant of etiquette." - Wikipedia

Like they slandered me.

Let's hear you say 'two bits.'  I bet it sounds like two b-aye-ts.  Does two baits sound like two b-aye-ts, too?

Be sure our sins will find us out. I personally don't like that verse but I suppose its good for me, to be found out if I'm willingly and consciously living in sin.

Good to air out things. You all are good for me, yes, even you Tony!!!!

cp, I don't care what anyone says about you. You are still O.K.

We can be such a fun loving crowd can't we?

Got to admit though that trolls seem very dangerous and can be very subtle in their deceipt can't they? It seems like quite a serious subject to me. I don't want to ever accuse anyone of such a nasty thing yet I know I have come close.

Do you ever feel there is a time to check out a person who may be a troll or will it be only the real obvious trolls who get nabbed? I suppose time and a persons own words and nature will be the judge.

I never thought of that. If you miss your target after throwing the first stone you would have sinned. So the moral of the story is, grab as many stones as you can and throw them all at once?  :dontknow:

Didn't Lazarus have 5 brothers

aren't there 5 books of Moses

2cor11.34 Paul was beat up 5 times by the Jews

rev17.10five fallen kings

rev9.10scorpions can hurt man for 5 months

God seems to like the number 5.

Yes, 5 digits on our extremities

5 senses

Now, David picks up 5 stones yet uses only one. Hmmmmmmm.

Did David have 4 other major obstacles in his life to overcome maybe.

Hey wait a minute here. Isn't this the Troll thread? What in the blue blazes are we doing talking about 5 stones? We got rocks in our heads or what?

Seriously now, here are my conclusions.....

If I suspect another of being a troll I take it to the mods in a quiet dignified way.

If I suspect myself of being a troll I say nothing and hope nobody notices!

There, does that about sum it up?

I don't even know what a troll, in the way it is used on forums, is but I have been strongly accused of being one in the past and I have just suggested that someone else may be one. I mean I guess a troll is someone who sneaks onto a forum like a spy in order to undermine what the purpose of what said board is all about.

What do we do with a suspected troll? Do we say nothing? Do we just lodge a complaint to the mods of a forum and leave it in their hands?

One thing I do know is that I don't think it should be handled in a public way, of which I am guilty of in one case.

Any thoughts?

cp

I think that sometimes someone carries many trademarks or aspects of being a troll, without really being one. You say to yourself he can't be that [insert pejorative] it must be an act. People can also engage in troll like behavior like baiting, being evasive, going on tangents making nonsensical remarks etc. and be completely unaware of doing such. Of course in a forum like this, there's the false teacher aspect to take into consideration too. But then the question is, is that person purposely trying to mislead, or are they just misguided, disturbed or delusional?
That's why it's always best to pray over it first. And pray over it for a while.
Then if the individual is in need of correction, you can provide it more lovingly and insightfully that way.
And yes, if you're getting bad vibes, share it with a Mod.
