Greetings.

Often during meditation I think about eternity, to my surprise it often scares me. To be with God world without end. Wow! We will never die. It's like I walk my imagination as far as it can go, then 💥 boom, I shake and cannot think clear. In my mind I go sit by some water, then I imagine doing it again ten million years later. I am frightened. I know that the way of eternity is not in me. The moment of resurrection and letting Christ, seeing God, I'm going to need a bit of help. My mind will be blown away.

I hope he has a reception unit for those who go into spiritual truama.

Hi there Mickiel: All of us have our moments when even hope seems hopeless. In those times we are pressed to trust Him more fully. In the final analysis there is absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Death can't, angelic beings can't, our limited minds can't!

"Anything that is not exceedingly beyond all we can think is exceedingly below all He has prepared for us." -FinenLinen
Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?

Mickiel

I kind of hope we will have personal aids see us through this. God is mapping the universe now, I know  we will need a guide  or two.maybe some smelling sauce as we see wonders without end.

Mickiel

I was surprised to learn I have a named condition. Apeirophobia , or believing life has no endh , and you fear that. I mean this is real, some have panic attacks. I'm thinking, boy, what a thing to have. They even got a name for it. Gee, what now.

Mickiel

I have this fear that God is not giving me his spirit now, I have to wait.these things bother my faith and confidence, I want to know Christ and God like I did my best friend. Knowledge fills your head but you want love, real relationship with him. I think I'll get pushed back, way back. Makes me e miss God. Wanting to know him more.

Mickiel: The road into our Father is in varying degrees and dimensions. We learn to trust Him as He brings us more intimately into Himself. Be patient my brother, He meets the cry of our hearts with His.

You are very inspiring Finelinen , thank you.

Interesting that God is eternity and fear of him prolongs life, Prov. 10:27. Either physical or spiritual life, strange that fearing God extends your life. I wonder why?

Mickiel

WE will coexist in eternity having no free will, having no negative side effects. I bet the world couldn't believe that. Because free will is habitual belief.

Ross

Look what kind of love our Father has given to:
that we should be called the children of God- and such we are .
Christ says we are to come to our Father like children.
Paul points out that we are disciplined by God like children and no discipline is pleasant at the time,  but reflection makes us learn from our experiences.
I never fully appreciated my dad until I had my own children.
I used to seek attention using whatever I could to be noticed.
20 years later I now see how our heavenly Father works.
To know that we cannot and will not be removed from our position in the family of God thanks to Jesus has taken away all the problems and fear of rejection that gets thrown at us left right and centre by the social structure of the world

Paul states that if this life is all there is to life then we should be pitied most. But the reality of our coming glorious future exceeds anything that we can even imagine.
Christ's love cannot be undone by ANYTHING.
May your heart be renewed by this awesome concept.

So true. God loves us so much, I wish I knew more about his love. Many verses reveal that all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord. And he is not one to show it and not give it. I pray he continues to bless your thoughts.

Mickiel

Strange thing, this fear I have  of eternity. I can't wait to cross over into it, this world is tiresome. I keep counting in my mind;  600 years, 6000 years, I wonder what 6 billion years will feel like? I tell myself there will be no time , but I can't imagine there being no time.

Strange.

Ross

Looking ahead seems to be a long way away, yet yesterday, or 10 years ago feels like it has only just happened.
A certain amount of the fear of the future seems to be generated by the varying man-generated interpreting of the future. False visions lure many astray.
This seems to be why we are encouraged to sift the information like chaff and throw away the rubbish.
Paul encourages us in Colossians 3 when stating we are hidden in Christ ready for the next phase.
Hebrews 2:5 " For He did not subject coming world, of which we speak,  to messengers. "
Now that is an incredible statement.
No wonder our lives are dramatic so we see the need for responsible decision-making and planning.
All things working together is a reality.

Also interesting how the ways of the nations are warned against by Jeremiah:
Jeremiah 10:2 "Do not learn the way of the nations for the customs of the people are false, and don't be scared by the signs of the heavens, for the nations are scared by them. "
A bit later,  Jeremiah 17:7  "Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, to whom Yahweh is his ground of confidence. "

Eph 3:8 " To me is given the grace, though I am least of the saints,  that I should DECLARE among the gentiles the IMMEASURABLE RICHES OF CHRIST."

Awesome.

I.M.O there will be time in the future, as there are references to ages, plural,  to come.
Then, after much time,  will finally be the end of the current ages.
However,  time must still be around since time stands still for no-one. May well just be measured/recorded differently. After all,  Peter points out that 1000 years to us is like a day to God.

By way of encouragement:
1 Cor 2:12 " But as for us,
we have not received the spirit of the world,  but the spirit which is of God,
so that we  might know the things which have been given to us by God in grace. "

1 Cor 3:11 " For no one can lay any other foundation than that which is lying- which is Jesus Christ. "

Yes I don't know about eternity being measured, but I personally do not see anything wrong with time.

Mickiel

What if you come to visit me and I tell you, "See you in about an hour"?. Or what, see you later in about 60 minutes: or five waves of the angels wing?

Mickiel

I think, and this is just speculation, there will be time in eternity, it's just going to be meaningless, I mean not that important. Kind of like air: we will probably be breathing it,but it will be so much of it it's meaningless. There will be so much of certin things we won't worry about it. Ever. This includes love, peace, joy, worshipping; just an abundance of it

Mickiel

I am reminded of Isaiah 9:7 " of the increase of his government there shall be no end." That is eternity in abundance. Peace will increase, love, joy, things will always grow. A future factory that will showcase Gods power and his reality.

Mickiel

Another thing about eternity that sakes me Is Isaiah 9:7 the "Increase" of his government. One of the possible meanings here is "Community",  that heavens community will never stop growing. God will keep on creating. Stunning. The increase all never end. Whew man, that's scary.and magnificent.

The heavens were created before the earth.
The temple made by Israel was a copy of the heavenly one.
The angels had a bit of interaction that delayed coming down to chat with Daniel.
Jude points out some social structure where not even the angels were  not judging Satan about his position,  just arguing over Moses body.
There are references to wars on heaven.
Then we see that "nations " will visit the Nee Jerusalem annually.  The suggestion being that resurrected man will govern along with Jesus in the big scheme of things- ergo the illustration of Israel in this age as a nation among other countries is a picture of the Israel referred to by Paul as the one to come thanks to Christ.
Alll awesome really.

Mickiel

Yes that war in heaven,if it were one, may have been what what snuffed so much life out of the universes. Look closely at some plantoid pictures , all those giant crators and holes on the surfaces of so many plants, could have been from the result of great wars.  The angels probably could not kill each other , so they killed planets.

Ross

One of those interesting speculation points about the angels being immortal.

1Tim 6:15b- 16 " ... He Who is the blessed and only sovereign King of kings and Lord of lords WHO ALONE HAS IMMORTALITY,  dwelling in the light which no man can approach, Whom no man can see or has seen to Whom be glory and honour, amen. "

I think that means that He's is the only mortal to have immortality.  The rest of the verse talks about limitations of man.

i thought bout being 'bored' eventually in eternity.....just sick of all the 'life'...thts why i enjoy sleeping in this life...have a break from it all...but maybe we healed of such thoughts in next world...we'll be spirit ?...made to be joyous n enjoying God's presence.
"I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance".Isaiah 45:23

Greetings Darryl ,

I think your correct, we are so messed up , we will need that tree whose leaves are for the healing of the nations.

I think God would like to hear from us now. He wants to know how we think. Kind of like your doctor visiting you in the hospital. I try to pray about every thing. I am like a cat, curious about everything. Because it's so much to be curious about.
