Hellbound and Kevin Miller

Recently had the chance to sit down with kevin over coffee, since he lives close by.Nice guy very busy with the movie and with interviews regarding the controversy it raises!
Kevin enjoys the work of Rene Girard , I read and listened to some of his stuff and found it very thought provoking but not spiritually connecting.This is what I came away with from our meeting, it all sounds good but it doesn't hit the heart of hearts.
Everything needs to be written on our hearts through revelation otherwise it is more mindless indoctrination!
We can spread the news but leave it up to the spirit to do the rest.So to do it on a psychological level will leave it on a psych level.
In the meantime just love our neighbor until they come to the revelation from above.
UR is a step in the process of becoming one in the spirit ,there are more steps to come
I hope we will be allowed to share them here at tentmaker as we grow in the faith

Wow! I had to google "Hellbound and Kevin Miller". How exciting to hear of this documentary!! I found out some of his previous work includes "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" with Ben Stein. I haven't seen that movie but I sure want to. And this new documentary too! Googling it I learned - QUOTES:

And "We are called to imitate God, to imitate Christ. So the question becomes 'what kind of a God are we imitating?' he poses".  :thumbsup: I gotta agree with that!!

And! "Hellbound? teaches us that generally speaking there are two views of hell: that it's real and that it's not."  :myahoo: :ty: Now there's some progress!

Don't get me wrong "hellbound "is worthwhile but if it is just to convert the masses I think the movie as well as tentmaker is like any other "religion".It always has to be about a heart change and that starts by loving unconditionally until the spirit moves on the individual.

It's just been my experience - and others may be different, but IMO, a human being doesn't have a clue what it means to love unconditionally and even if they knew, would find it impossible to do so. The spirit changes us first. We don't change and then seek the spirit to guide what we changed. :2c:

Yep! but you know what? It doesn't hurt to present a gospel/good news, that is "convincing".. Then too, it is written - "the Spirit will convince the world..." It's the Spirit which convinces (erroneously translated "convicts"). But I really think any untruth in the message greatly dilutes the saving power of it. As it's the truth which sets free. :smile:

yes, we have "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."  Acts 2

also, all these things said by Paul - "how shall they hear without a preacher [proclaimer]"   "..Savior of all men.  Declare these things and teach.."   "be ye reconciled to God!"...     :thumbsup:
