Ammunition to the atheist's gun is the 'doctrine of hell'.  Infinite punishment for a finite existence. We cannot be horrified at the acts of such people as Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin (and more recently Islamic State), if we think it perfectly acceptable for human beings to be tormented forever. Why bother with humanitarian efforts if we support something far worse than anything human kind can inflict?

It's my opinion 'hell' blasphemes God's good and pure nature everyday, and is very effective at hiding the good news.
What a pleasant surprise it will be to some to find God to be totally able!! And then some.. :dsunny: :banana:

...it's my belief the DOA (2nd resurrection/dead on arrival/still in their sins - only because God's great truth proving drama must have more than one character) will be in truth, DOA, day of atonement..

I have noticed in my UR promotion on the Abovetopsecret website that there are three primary groups on the question:

1.  Skeptics, who seems to have concluded that the Gospel is bunk, possibly due to the non-goodnews of Hell.

2.  True Believers, who cling to belief in Hell as if it were axiomatic and foundational, though the proof is not behind it.

3.  UR Fellow Travelers, a small group, much appreciated by Laz.

Group #2 cannot be swayed, but cannot answer my arguments.

It makes no sense that God, who is love, must prove Himself to be the superior torturer, exacting punishments infinitely more horrifying than that which was perpetrated by His enemies.

Love those who curse you and use you and say all manner of evil about you, an so be like your Father in heaven.

Love your enemies. Bless, and curse not.

Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

But in "Hell" let your will, and your love be suspended forever. "Let pain and madness and terror and remorse reign forever and ever, amen."

Hell is the  mis translation of the Gehenna judgment     ,  But it is not a place , but a state of being !!     the law is a fire and the Holy Spirit  , teaches us  and corrects us  but also comforts us after the    correction !! 

GOD IS GOOD   ALWAYS  and EXCELLENT FATHER  ,  was never   evil   nor non existent  in our learning  , but very much PRESENT  ,   but was  teaching His children not to be evil   either , by learning  a lesson they will never forget !!  It is temporary     for the eternal good for all    ...

Rose, "a wick that can not be put out"... oh! I never got that before! when I build a fire in our woodstove, I will often ponder about "feeding the flames" and geesh I can't even think of the other one right now, but it's like feeding the flames.. now on a more positive note, I can ponder about "the wick [HS] that cannot be put out"! thanks! :gsmile:
