I got this far, when the fellow said, "What is the penalty for sin?"  I knew the penalty was simple death, and expected him to say so, but no, he slipped in his opening wedge:  "Separation from God."  Half-truth, and I'm done.  Did not Paul say that not even death will separate us from God?
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

That may be the problem!  Maybe we could call some of those books "theo-illogical."

@Lazarus, this fellow almost never mentioned any Bible verses so I think that he is just indoctrinated. Something thatmany ETers ddon't understand is that Christ's death is not useless in UR but rather even more glorious for it doesn't save just a part of humankind but everybody. Hell exists but was defeated by Jesus completely!

IMO, but this is only my viewpoint, hell exists (of course it is not under the earth, ahaha), but I question whether it is to be forever. The point is, where EVER in the Bible it is said that death is the end? If I believe after death, what prevents God (who willeth all to be saved, ecc.) from taking me away from hell? This is my point.

But isn't the point here that hell is not a fiery pit for torture? The word is Hades which is the grave or death and the place of the dead. So everyone goes there when they die but then there is a resurrection. So hell is not a place for punishment or correction at all. The lake of fire is for correction, that's how I see it.

I am so glad you can see this ,      I have found this is the place of  hell  / grave and death and torment  , we look around and see in the natural all the judgments in the earth and  can see this is HELL AND DEATH    and it is temporary      ,,,  the days of our flesh are numbered     

  But we are more than that , flesh and blood,,,, we are spiritual beings and does not the spiritual being survive   though those fiery  laws and trials of faith  ?

without faith it is impossible to please GOD    , So faith is a substance  of hope  ,    without hope all are miserable ,

are we not and have been men most miserable ?   
  When Jesus returns will he  find faith  on/in our  earth / bodies ?     

  as a thief in the night when darkness comes and no one knows   GOD or His plan  , we were given LIGHT

and understanding and  knowledge of Him though Jesus Christ .... 

and to KNOW  THE LOVE OF GOD !!!   wow how we have grown in truth and grace   ,  so many are yet to experience this    or may never know  in the short time  that satan can and does     deceive   the whole world         ...

  We do have something now  that     is more precious    than all the truth and gold   in the world     and can glory in GOD about ,
I would never want to use this  power against those still trapped in Babylon ,  but use this to free them as we are set free by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ ....

They say knowledge is power  in this life and  though it helps  , it is miserable to know  it and cannot do anything  about it  or become tempted  and prideful

rising up like satan to oppress those whom are still trying to find their way   , to that narrow path that leads to LIFE IN CHRIST  ..........

OUR Boasting in the Lord  should not be to our shame  but to His glory        and workers in the field / world now   to  plant the seeds  and water as God gives the increase  of the HOLY SPIRIT    that everyone can  believe in and experience  ,  ONE SPIRIT , ONE FAITH  ,ONE BAPTISM ,   Ephesians 4:4-6New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)

one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Has  Jesus given you  to the Father already  and GOD IS ALL IN ALL IN YOU YET ?

Oh how the  Spirit  is vexed by the flesh and the flesh  vexes our Spirit   to the point of  getting in the way  and becoming a stumbling block    ...

and though we may stumble many times [7]   the fulness   of it  , GOD is able to make us stand   in the truth and the truth will set us   all free ...

I am in agreement with you ....  under earth is the unseen , that God knows the secrets of our hearts      that even we may not be even aware of ....   Like when you blow an opportunity to shine and  the man of sin rises up in anger and  destroys   the good  leaving a path of destruction in its wake ....

  That you did not even know was hidden in your heart in the first place   ,, God is cleaning us out       of all corruption    and waste , so His Holy presence can come and dwell and STAY with us , to me this is the war of armageddon    The word "Armageddon" appears only once in the Greek New Testament, in Revelation 16:16. The word is translated to Greek from Hebrew har məgiddô (הר מגידו), har - Strong H2022 - meaning "a mountain or range of hills (sometimes used figuratively): - hill (country), mount (-ain), X promotion."   
   This it the place where JESUS SAYS oh you of little faith , if you told this mountain'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you!!!!!!!!!!!!   that mountain   with all the hills are rulers   over you ...     your own body of death     

    Jesus told us BY EXAMPLE ...Because there is no condemnation to those   whom are in CHRIST and are walking in the SPIRIT OF LIFE .. you have passed from death to LIFE     WHEN YOU KEEP THE  LAW OF LOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!

The division is between the law of moses where   satan accuses   over this body of death, it is the ministration of death and many rulers /hills to bring us to Christ ,,,   the letter of the law kills us right down to the jot and tittle , but it is the   law of Jesus Christ  by the Spirit  and   LOVE for all that makes alive   
  the killing and making alive     ,  JESUS CHRIST IS THE LORD OF THE DEAD AND THE LIVING ...  as the Lord rebukes    his adversaries for  all  our sakes ...

by turning one over to satan  for the destruction of our flesh so in the DAY /LIGHT OF THE LORD    our Spirit shall be saved     the flesh cannot handle it , but the Spirit can   as the works of satan is destroyed  , by the breath of His coming    ...    Paul said do not judge before the time till the Lord comes and He brings to Light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God.
  God will give the  praise  , not man      to the Glory of the Father
God is no respecter of persons  and we  are not to be either , but in HIS HOLY SPIRIT we will not be  , this will be how we disern the Lords Body  , Life is in and though Him   only ... ... sorry this went so long ..

...imo, the grave - still the "place of the dead"/hades - does exist.. and is temporary with the next flashpoint of consciousness being the resurrection, whether 1st or 2nd.. and after 'day' of judgment (doa-day of atonement) all (any) still not believing (written in the book) will go to the lake of fire-ageduring, for correction-"curbing"-translated 'punishment'.

Because "hell" has been translated for sheol and gehenna, it cause confusion. People say hell, thinking "lake of fire" sometimes. Sometimes they say hell thinking "Hades", but they understand hell generally, as the lake of fire being a place of eternal torment or eternal destruction.

So sometimes it is hard to resolve for people the fallacy in both ideas, and to explain what the fire of God is for, which is to purge and purify.

technically there is no "hell", but I use the word sometimes to facilitate discussion with someone who will not(until I get done with them if the Lord wills ;o) know what Sheol or Gehenna is. I use the lake of fire along with it tho, because most everyone will understand that. And then I use that to open discussion about the difference between sheol, the lake of fire and gehenna.
