what is salvation exactly ?

  Hi All ,
  I  was wondering what your concept of salvation  means to you ,
I hear  so many  differnt ideas of what salvation is ,
  I know Jesus saves  but to what extent  , there is scripture to back up to the saving of the soul etc ,
  what do ya think ?  thanks  for any replys  :bigGrin:

Biblical salvation is anything you need salvation in, in your spirit, soul, body, finances, and social life.  It's protection and preservation from temporal harm, healing, deliverance from anything you need deliverance from, the remission of sin, financial prosperity to accomplish God's Covenant for your life, etc.  It's deliverance out of where you shouldn't be and deliverance into where you're supposed to be.  It's being brought into harmony with the plan of God for your life, in contrast with holiness which is being brought into the place of having the same mind/thoughts as God so that you can stay there without self sabatoging.  Holiness is the destination after you've been put where you belong so that you can keep it.  For some people, Biblical salvation is in the opposite end of the country from where they're at, as in the times in the Old Testament when God would tell someone where to be because there He'd perform this or that for them.  That aspect has never changed in Biblical salvation and that's where it gets complicated because people were praying this or that for years and didn't realize it was connected to the overwhelming urge to move to some other town.  And that wound up being where the Church or the job or the new invention, creative idea, or winning lotto ticket wound up being.  Salvation is very akin to being lead by the Holy Spirit, whereas in contrast holiness would be the understanding of why God was telling you to do this or that in His ongoing teaching and training of your life so that you'd be the greatest thing that had ever happened to the Body of Christ thus far [where you belong] as He's pulling all of the parts of the Body into alignment as it says in Romans, Corinthians, and Ephesians so that there's full expression of the Anointed One and His Anointing in the earth.

My understanding;

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him,", John 6:44, and "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" Acts 3:19.  Also John 3:16 and others that talk about believing on Jesus (trusting in, placing faith in---not our faith, but a gift from God).

God is calling and choosing some now, and I believe scripture is clear there is a specific moment when one is given the faith to repent (turn from/to) and believe/trust Christ's work on the cross for our salvation.

Jesus mean "Jehovah is salvation"
Jesus "only" payed for the rooms in the hotel

1 Timothy 2:6  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Jesus rented the whole hotel.
But all get a different arrival time. Some already recieved their reservation papers.
Others have to wait until the afterlife.

Please  share this in more detail if you dont mind , I have been thinking about it lately  and dont know if I can explain it very well 
I know Jesus gives us His peace and it sure has taken alot of the fears away  , and what people can say that seems to try and destroy that faith

I had a big long explanation, but I will make it simple. The one that is assured is the one in the End of all things. Where the wicked are raised alongside the righteous and God is all in all.

Well, yes, I believe there's a point of belief in which "behold, all things are becoming new" begins.  I realize too that there's then an ongoing process of refinement/purification.  Some call it sanctification, which I understand to be basically "becoming more like our Master". 

I was thinking about your specific question, and thinking another, maybe even better term would be redemption.  However, then I think of the scripture that says "call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved"....guess for now I'll stick with that :happygrin:.  James.

We had about 5 zillion reruns of it. Got it on DVD. But unfortunately there are only a few episodes made.
Dads Army, Are you being served, Young Ones, Bottom, Blackadder, Bean, Keeping up apreances, Fawlty Towers.  I like the last two most.
The best Cleese ever did. Monty Python and all his other stuff was much less. But the greatest actor of that show was Manuel.
??? Hu? Eh? Never understood a thing. Finally a Spanish guest and he didn't understood the dialect.  :laughing7:

Quite a few scenes. Views of the real hotel burned down. Bloopers. Deleted scenes. I always assumed the whole show was a blooper.
Seems I have to start hunting for the bloopers and deleted scenes. I only have the 12 episodes.

  Yes !  a  new hope within , in your heart  , to be  made new and different in Christ  , very good , this is more of what I think is salvation

   You keep trying and asking for His help and look for change 
It is to be remade into somthing useful for Gods purpose , a good example is Pauls  course /change  , from  a killer of the innocent , letter of the Law , thinking he was doing God  a service , to  sparing and showing Love ,concern  firm  but faithful to his conscience and the Holy Spirit working within him ... a ministry  of ''healing helping a genuine  concern  for the  welfare,to place  hope in the hearts of the lost and spiritually dying  and dead to God ..

I saw Al in thriller as an inpector investigating a serial killer. He was serious and acted well. But still I had to laugh. He always will be that nutcase for me.

When a person believes and accepts what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross for him and for the whole world, a powerful and wonderful transformation takes place in the person's life through the gift of the Holy Spirit. He is transformed from darkness to light, from blindness to sight, from captivity to freedom and from a child of Satan to a child of God. He receives the blessed assurance of the Holy Spirit that all of his sins, past, present and future, are forgiven, and that he stands totally righteous before God with God's Righteousness, even though he still battles with the temptations of the flesh.

   I so believe that savlavion is a gift of God as well ,

   DO you think
  God sees  one using the gift of grace and it pleases Him 
or do you think that God puts the grace in one to use  according to His good pleasure ?

  this is what I wonder about often  , I do see it as both really it is a if  all things work togehter for the good of Gods purpose  and  we than realize we love  Him because He  has always loved us   while we were yet sinners / in error /missing out
