Title: John 5
Post by: rosered on December 11, 2008, 03:15:38 PM
Hi  :icon_flower:

This  scripture  is very interesting  to me
I have thought that the WORD OF GOD is compared to Water of the Word and we are compared to sheep  and was wondering if anyone can see that when a messenger  sent to stir the Word /WATER  some  were healed
it is sort of like this Fourm a pool / place  where many are  gathered from time to time  and In Gods mercy allows healing  ,

I  want to be whole /complete  by the Lord

Do have anything , you see in this ?   thoughts / Ideas about this ?

Jhn 5:2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep [market] a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda,

   having five porches.

In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving/ agitation of the water.

Bethesda = "house of mercy" or "flowing water"

Jhn 5:4 For an angel/messenger  went down into the pool, at a certain season  into the pool  and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

International Standard Version (©2008)
At certain times an angel of the Lord would go down into the pool and stir up the water, and whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had.

Fireinfolding . . .I like your handle there!

For Rosies observation . . . I thought I'd throw a couple pieces in the mix as well.  For me, the angel is not a winged being as much as it is a messenger . .and as God's ways never change, it's never the messenger that is to get the attention, but the message they bring.  So again, it's the message that stirs the waters and get's the spirit moving, healing begins to flow . . .the purpose of sharing the message is to heal the nations.

The healing comes to those who hunger the most.  There are always those that set along the banks of the river preaching about it's depth, current speed, power, clarity . . on and on, yet they never actually get in the river themselves.  So many times people become cautions when the pool is stirred . . only those that rush in without hesitancy are the ones experiencing the healing.  As the story unfolds . ..there were many accumulated around the edges and like the one Jesus picked out, they are there, but not to be healed, just to complain about never being healed.

Life comes to only those who have a hunger for life.

The sheep gate is the north gate of the city.  The sheep are brought to the sheep market for temple sacrifice.  The waters are to cleanse the sheep in preparation.

14Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
--John 5

The north gate of the Temple is one of the entrances of the priests who will serve at the altar..

13 Then the man said to me, "The northern and southern chambers that face the temple yard are the holy chambers where the priests who approach the LORD will eat the most holy offerings. There they will deposit the most holy offerings—the grain offerings, sin offerings, and restitution offerings—for the place is holy.  14 Once the priests have entered, they must not go out from the holy area to the outer court until they have removed the clothes they minister in, for these are holy.  They are to put on other clothes before they approach the public area."

--Eze 42

But the LORD's gate is the east gate.  This is the gate Jesus faced on the cross.  It is also the gate he used to enter Jerusalem the week before his death.

1 He led me to the gate,  the one that faces east, 2 and I saw the glory of the God of Israel  coming from the east. His voice sounded like the roar of mighty waters,  and the earth shone with His glory.  3 The vision I saw was like the one I had seen when He came to destroy the city,  and like the ones I had seen by the Chebar Canal.  I fell facedown.  4 The glory of the LORD entered the temple by way of the gate that faced east. 5 Then the Spirit lifted me up  and brought me to the inner court, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

--Eze 42

Ha!  whatdya know about that!  It's a good thing I'm getting all my mistakes out now at the end of the year so next year I can start out fresh.

Well, then it's you that I owe the thanks to for your observations  . . I loved it!

I used to be one that was satisfied with letting the river take me where it may . .as I envisioned it to be the holy spirit bringing life to the banks of my earth . . .which still can be seen that way but recently my spirit has been sort of revealing the bigger picture of just what is happen in our snapshot of God's timetable we live in.  And I sense he's calling the bride "back" to her origin . . .before the fall was introduced to our natures. Before flesh dominated spirit.  And that leads us "back" to the garden to where the river originates.  One river and it's unnamed . . not to be categorized by man, it's the spirit of I AM . . .and this one river is one and the same with the river in Revelation flowing from the throne with the tree of life on either side . . .which is the two witnesses . .which are the two anointed ones of Zechariah 4 . .heck, while I'm already wet, I'll even throw out the fact that I think they are the Word and the Spirit . .but that's just me.

At any rate, this has changed my position in my river as I sense that this river that was one, but split into four at the gate of the garden, is not just here to water my earth, but it's my avenue that gives me access to swim up-stream back to the source where the sovereign river flows . . .so the river is the same, but my quest in it has changed.

1 The man then brought me back toward the sanctuary's outer gate that faced east, and it was closed. 2 The LORD said to me: "This gate will remain closed. It will not be opened, and no one will enter through it, because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it.  Therefore it will remain closed. 3 The prince himself will sit in the gateway to eat a meal before the LORD.  He must enter by way of the portico of the gate and go out the same way."

4 Then the man brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked, and the glory of the LORD filled His temple. And I fell facedown.  5 The LORD said to me: "Son of man, pay attention;  look with your eyes and listen with your ears to everything I tell you about all the statutes and laws of the LORD's temple.  Take careful note of the entrance of the temple along with all the exits of the sanctuary.

--Eze 44

24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

11And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

12And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

QuoteIt's sure gooooooooooooooooooood hearing your voice too even as I browsed around last night lol I felt I was walking down memory lane here. Trust me you have been missed very much too

lol "Walkabouts" good name for them, dont 6 months seem like 10 years? Yep its my turn for a walkabout, cant say Im too crazy about being on one but I am actually glad I went on one to be informed on what might be heading our way here that we could make some preparations for the harder times ahead. Felt a bit like Noah moving with a bit of fear toward the coming situation and to prepare as I felt led to.

Good news, I am actually getting better at typing on my elbows lol but man... sometimes it feels like my elbows are on fire and my shoulders are going to fall off my upper half. I have developed calouses that help lol I still cant sit yet and Im supposing I wont anytime soon. The temptation at boards is to "join in" the discussions and I just couldnt besides I didnt have much to contribute at the time, still dont really but I absolutely miss our fellowship, I miss "tea" all day on the IM searching out the treasures of God together and the rejoicing that always followed (especially the "awe" we felt) as God graced us with His blessing, nothing better then that bro! But good things have come out to me even of God's faithfulness through this much needed time and its all kool here

How you feeling bro? I know you persevere through more then anything I have ever had to go through and I cant possibly say I covet your situation but I can say I covet your Spirit and attitude you have facing it all. I do hope you are feeling well soon because theres nothing worse then a slow recovery accompanied by many set backs every time. God richly bless you and yours

I still cant get used to the screen name "Taffy" lol What was going through your mind with that one?

Hyjacking??? Rosey wont mind a hyjack   I quoted Rose, whats this? No veering at all off topics or at least weaseling your way off of topics into fellowship?

You guys are getting strict around here arent cha?  :grin:Alrighty I'll catch cha on PM, just thought I could come in and say hi without starting a thread

Big Hugs bro

1-6Soon another Feast came around and Jesus was back in Jerusalem.

Near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem there was a pool, in Hebrew called Bethesda, with five alcoves. Hundreds of sick people—blind, crippled, paralyzed—were in these alcoves. One man had been an invalid there for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him stretched out by the pool and knew how long he had been there, he said, "Do you want to get well?"

7The sick man said, "Sir, when the water is stirred, I don't have anybody to put me in the pool. By the time I get there, somebody else is already in."

8-9Jesus said, "Get up, take your bedroll, start walking." The man was healed on the spot. He picked up his bedroll and walked off.

9-10That day happened to be the Sabbath. The Jews stopped the healed man and said, "It's the Sabbath. You can't carry your bedroll around. It's against the rules."

11But he told them, "The man who made me well told me to. He said, 'Take your bedroll and start walking.'"

12-13They asked, "Who gave you the order to take it up and start walking?" But the healed man didn't know, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd.

14A little later Jesus found him in the Temple and said, "You look wonderful! You're well! Don't return to a sinning life or something worse might happen."

15-16The man went back and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. That is why the Jews were out to get Jesus—because he did this kind of thing on the Sabbath.

17But Jesus defended himself. "My Father is working straight through, even on the Sabbath. So am I."

18That really set them off. The Jews were now not only out to expose him; they were out to kill him. Not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was calling God his own Father, putting himself on a level with God.

Fivefold ministry?

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

These are all ministering angels, standing in the outer courtyard (porch) ministering to those who would receive [shall be heirs of] salvation.

--John 5

I used to think the man was sinning by going into the temple because thats where Jesus adressed him about sinning, you'd think he'd walk about to him when he was with a prostitute (or something similiar) and say something like that.

That always sorta baffled me as to why the temple was the area he found him in and confronted him about sin, its like I still dont get or Im making it more complicated then what it really is (which is normally the case with me)

Is this a test? :laughing7:

43"When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.

45Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."

Hey I looked up "porches" in the OT and the porches were erected EAST of the Temple of Solomon, whats kool too is that the height of it was said to be "One hundred and twenty cubits" ...I love anything with that number in it  Thats mentioned under the definition in the Lexicon. Interestingly mans days were numbered that many and Moses died that number and its the height of that which is opposite the temple back there... what could it all mean?

I love connect the dots lol

22And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Hmmm this is interesting, afterall the mans condition wasnt good but speaks to the condition of a man being worse then the first, which is the "something worse coming upon you". Though I just think it odd he said that in the temple unless ofcourse its more a picture of something Im not laying hold of here.

Are you saying the temple is an arid place??

I think he's talking about the real temple, of which the temple of Solomon is merely a likeness.

1 Kings 7:21
And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

"Jachin"

H3199
יכין
yâkîyn
yaw-keen'
From H3559; he (or it) will establish; Jakin, the name of three Israelites and of a temple pillar: - Jachin.

"Boaz"

H1162
בּעז
bô‛az
bo'-az
From an unused root of uncertain meaning; Boaz, the ancestor of David; also the name of a pillar in front of the temple: - Boaz.

Boaz is the kinsman redeemer of the Book of Ruth.

8Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.

9And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi.

10Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

11And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:12And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman.

--Ruth 4

PS Look at who he's redeeming, Ruth, a Gentile--

4And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.

Man, you've REALLY got to stick around.  What a delight it is to read your posts!

God wrestled with man for 120 years . . .did ya do the math and see that man's years multiplied by Jubillee also equals the day of the laboring man?  (6000) and it was six days that God "labored" before the 7th day manifested?  We are leaving the 6th day behind and entering into the 7th as we speak!  The year 2000 is a turning point in more ways than one.

There were 120 in the upper room . . .it's as if God took the laboring man and transformed him into a drunken/spirit man.

This thing with the porch  is intriguing also. . . The east gate speaks to me of the entrance to resurrection life  . .east, being the rising of the Son.  There is a reference to the "kings of the east" in Revelation that cross a dried up Euphrates (fruitfulness) river this is one of the four coming out of the garden . . . that is US

Hmmm this is interesting, afterall the mans condition wasnt good but speaks to the condition of a man being worse then the first, which is the "something worse coming upon you".

His prayer and cry was over Israel who's house was swept clean "by Christ" but left empty because they rejected him.  They were left 7 times worse . . .seven being fullness and completion . . .they left themselves in a vacuum that caused them to implode on themselves.

For me, that something worse . . .was the Roman army that came a generation later.

Pillars in the porch . . .now there's a sermon in itself!  Christ "had" to set up his covenant, the New Covenant 'outside" the temple, even though the temple itself was the blueprint of him, the New Covenant, the porch, not just any porch, but Solomon's porch . .Solomon . .the "third" and last king of all of Israel . . .This is got resurrection all over it.  East Gate, 3rd king . . . does it ever end????? :myahoo:

Interesting..

Revelation 16:12
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

Solomon's porch was called 'the king's entrance'  or the 'king's gate.'

17And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;
18Who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.

19And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry.

--1 Chron 9

Quotedoes it ever end?????

No LOL.   And, what's more, you couldn't make this stuff up it's so good.

1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

...and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

12And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Hey Kim, where are ya from anyway?  You've obviously got a history here . . . I can't believe you've been gone as you have.  You see the same things, you ask the same kind of questions . .it's so cool to meet people who enter into the same rooms that have not been taught by a denomination, but have been having Truth revealed through the spirit and it's the same pictures seen by others.

I do beleive you are also one of the pioneers that God has not only called, but also chosen for you to illuminate to the deadwood around you so God can breathe this life in others as well.  I'm in Iowa . . .it's 10 after 5 for me . . .I work many hours here at Quaker . . .makin' the oatmeal!  It's where I also spend all my free time at Tent.

You mentioned "a voice behind me" I was curious as to what reference you were pulling that from . . .as I've mentioned here on other threads of the passage that I know of with this where it was with John as he was caught up (raptured?? Gasp!!!) in the spirit and he heard a voice "behind" him . .but in order for him to "see" the voice . . .he had to turn around (repent).  I've always found that fascinating in that even in the spirit, John was facing the wrong way.  My up-bringing always taught me that when you're in the spirit, that is where all things are made known and are right.  "if" being in the Spirit is the cure-all solution to our religious needs . . .how can one be still facing the wrong way?

Unless, again, John being a picture of the church . .and being in where the golden candlestick is, as the second dimension, that  . . .hmm . . . if the voice behind him was Christ "in" the candlestick . .then that would mean John's undivided attention was facing the 12 (government) loaves of bread . .which is the word . . .which is Christ

John 6
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Which for me is a great picture of the traditional church in that they emphasize the bread so much that they don't recognize or comprehend the proceeding Word.  And it was Jesus himself who said "Man (flesh) shall not live on bread alone, but every word of God . . .for me, that is the difference between natural reasoning and spiritual revelation.  Whether we're "in" the spirit or not, we "can" still be so focussed on the "activity" of the bread that we can't see the "sound" of the source of our bread.

Kind of took things a different direction here, huh .  .sorry bout that.

QuoteHey Kim, where are ya from anyway?  You've obviously got a history here . . . I can't believe you've been gone as you have.  You see the same things, you ask the same kind of questions . .it's so cool to meet people who enter into the same rooms that have not been taught by a denomination, but have been having Truth revealed through the spirit and it's the same pictures seen by others.

Kim has a writting on the 666
pieces of Gold   about Solomons  TEMPLE

Hope she puts this up here
I was amazed at the  12 lions  two on each step ..?

 2Ch 9:13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

2Ch 9:14 Beside [that which] chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

And king Solomon made two hundred targets [of] beaten gold: six hundred [shekels] of beaten gold went to one target.

2Ch 9:16 And three hundred shields [made he of] beaten gold: three hundred [shekels] of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

2Ch 9:17 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

2Ch 9:18 And [there were] six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, [which were] fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:

2Ch 9:19 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.

2Ch 9:20 And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon [were of] gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon [were of] pure gold: none [were of] silver; it was [not] any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

   Gold =TRUTH..

Let me reread this post in the morning with a fresh mind, but tell me about this third generation of Kings, how did you stumble upon this and whats it mean to you, I never studied it before

Hugs :HeartThrob:
Kim

No worries Kim . . .my night is over as well as it's time for me to go home . . .and yes, I really do work here at quaker . . check my profile, it's a Quaker email address.  I've worked here for 20 years . .got on 2 weeks after I married my best friend.  I've got two teenaged daughters and twin 4 year old sons . . . with a cavern of "what hit me" in between.

I pastor a small church up here in Iowa that is all denomination . . .if they knew all of what I preach . . .they're threatening to discipline me as it is for going dimensional on them . . .they say they fear for my church . . .when I told that to my church . .they laughed hard and long.

As for your dryspell . . .here's the thing . .every time you mention that, the one word comes to me is "purpose".  I'm wondering if God isn't trying to take that which is outside of you away for a while so that you can see that which was written outside, has been planted inside.  And you see what you see because of his illumination in you . . . Peter was told to put away his sword as well . . .the church is still on a war path and the direction has changed to one of plowshares.

And unfortunately, as great of a time it's been in getting to know you tonight and freewheeling the revelation, there are those on this forum that will either demand physical proof of what is spiritually seen, or debate with you about why your version is inaccurate . . just hop on my profile and check my record . . .you won't need to go to far back until you'll see some of them . . .having said that . . .PLEASE . . .i don't know you as well as Taf does, but please . . .come play with us regardless of the weather out here on the pages.

I was thinking  . .you changed tafs name . .someone should change yours . . . I see you as bofa . . .that's actually the Hebrew word for your name . . .okay . .not really . . .what it really means is Breath Of Fresh Air.  Which is what you've been today . . . .

I'll be out and about tomorrow night at about this same time . . .i come in to work for 4 hours then . . . Until then . . .

Blessings to you and it's been a pleasure meeting you.

"And the second poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood like that of a corpse. And every living creature died, the things in the sea. And the third poured out his bowl into the rivers and springs of the waters. And they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters saying, You are just, the One who is and who was, the Holy One, because you administered justice in the case of these things, for they poured out saints' and prophets' blood, and blood to them you have given to drink. They are those who deserve this. And I heard the altar saying, Yes, O Lord God, Omnipotent, dependable and just are your judgments." (Rv 16:3-7, Weust's Expanded Translation)

The spirit quickens to life according to the Messenger's carried message.  Throughout all existing water:  solid, gas, but specially liquid, there is an assigned "from (water,) through (water) and to (water)" entity.  That one is in complete correspondance with all consciousness and expression of "water."  It records all water.  It can impart water.  The seed body is the word of the message and it's life is spirit. This is "the angel (messenger) of the waters."

I don't think this angel is the same as in John 5, but perhaps there was an interaction involved.

"For a messenger of the Lord at a certain season bathed in the pool and disturbed the water.  He, then, who first steps in after the disturbing of the water, became sound of whatsoever disease he was held."  (Jn 5:4, CLV)

I'm sure there's also an "angel of the internet."  God is moving.  The water's flowing.  People are getting healed!

  I love psalms  93  awesome !!

Psa 93:1 The LORD reigns, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Psa 93:2 Thy throne [is] established of old: thou [art] from everlasting.

Psa 93:3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

Psa 93:4 The LORD on high [is] mightier than the noise of many waters, [yea, than] the mighty waves of the sea.

Psa 93:5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becomes thine house, O LORD, for ever.
