I have read about solar flares coming that might damage some electrical grids this weekend. I wonder if some utilities/telecom companies were given a heads up from NASA about this, and they made an announcement to their clients to suggest the outage was planned so that folks wouldn't panic.

  does not keep the city..the watchmen watch in vain.

     the article I read about the planned outages..was that people had recieived notices from

  thier isp about 'down for maintenance' and questioned the wisdom of it on 911 during a

terror 'watch/alert" and that  looking into it..they discovered a great many of  the people in

many areas had received the  notice.  I wandered if the 'tent' had recieved such a notice,too.

I don't nothing about an outage but I think such a thing is never planned because of the simple fact that it costs the ISP/telco's money.
