We're hopeless. You can get saved ONLY if you do as they say AND if you are lucky enough to be born in Europe, Australia or the Americas. If you're born in Africa or Asia, well, too bad for you. Is this message of hopelessness and that so many will be tortured forever the real message of the gospel? I think not.
Micah 7:7

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

John 15:5

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

I love how they call us hopeless sinners, yet they tell us that we need to save ourselves. Anyone else see the problem with that? Hopeless sinners, saving themselves.  :sigh: And you are absolutely right about different churches having different qualifications of what one must do to be saved. Having grown up a Catholic, I was always told how we needed to be baptized, take communion, go to confession, pray to Mary and saints, etc. The thing is I still go to church sometimes because I'm having trouble breaking out of this Catholic thing because it's always been such a big part of my family's life, and I can see through the lies we're told in the sermons.

"God loves the Chinese- that's why he made so many of them."
It would seem that according to UR, God would rather eternally torture
most of his creation rather than save all of mankind as Jesus clearly did.
Can God save? ET says yes UR says yes. WILL God save? ET says no (for the majority), UR says yes for all(ultimately). :Peace2:

Or they say God will not force anyone to be saved. But if you see a man drowning, do you have to force him to be saved or will he want to be saved? They have such ridiculous arguments that even I, a baby in Christ, can tear them apart.

God is going to save and restore, not just man, but the entire created cosmos - well, except for things like your bank account.  No, I expect that's going to go "poof."  :2c: :2c: :2c: :2c:
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

When a man realizes that he can make money selling fear.
He realizes that money brings him power.
He then fears losing power.
He sells the new found fear of losing power,
to those more powerful than him.
To keep his fear at bay,
he must make others more fear full than himself.
This is a very fear full time.
Does God need the fear of Eternal Torment?
So that he can stay in power.

I hope your question was rhetorical. Since God is love and "there is no fear in love" and perfect "love casts out all fear"
if a person has fear IMO, it's the result of not trusting God. Fear should have no place in "coming to Christ"

I think it is here for a purpose, to either teach us or them something, I don't know exactly what but if God wanted to he could eradicate it now. Someday he will when every knee bows. All things are for his purpose.

We should love and trust, not fear God.

Once the fear of death is taken away
the only fear left is the fear of God

Indeed it is hard to break away from a religion that you have been taught and involved in all your life.  I just broke away from the Baptist church.  Sort of traumatic. :sigh:

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

You can not be perfected in love if you fear God

And how can we be made perfect in love and thereby loose the fear factor if we adhere to that horrible doctrine of fear?!
I had the fear deep in my heart as long as I believed in the gospel of the fear of hell.
When I saw the light of UR, and the fact that hell is a myth and a human doctrine, the fear went poof!

Gary Amirault had a good study on the fear of God a couple of days ago.
