Ok, so I was driving home and listening to focus on the family on the radio, and they had on two guests who are Christians who have made several successful tv shows.  They were talking about how they decided they wanted to make a tv series about the Bible.  They said they didn't get a very good response from their hollywood backers because most Christian movies are poorly made due to a small budget.  The backers asked, would Jesus have to be in it?  They managed to make the deal. though, and promised they have made a first class series about the Bible, as good as a 200 million dollar movie--top rate writers, filmmakers, actors, and music.  They said many supernatural things happened during the production of it.  You can go listen to their interview at the focus on the family website.

As I was listening to them, tears started streaming down my face.  This was an answer to my prayers and the timing of it was so perfect.   They said they would reach millions of people all over the world with this production.  It will be shown Sundays on the History Channel for two hours starting 3;3,13, this Sunday,.and ending at Easter.  Please try to tune in because they said that if Hollywood sees how many views this type of production draws, they will be more likely to fund future productions.



And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Watched all 5. Pretty good. There is some dramatic liscence with minor nuances that aren't biblically supported and there is one major thing(to me) in that like all hollywood stuff that features Jesus, He is tall, very handsome, been to a hairdresser and barber recently, has perfectly clean and unwrinkled clothes, and is so obviously a standout from the rest. (not to mention he looks more scandinavian than mediteranean and/or Jewish.
The Bible says, "his look was such that no one would desire him" -he was able to slip away in crowds, the soldiers had to have Judas kiss him so they would know which of the twelve was Jesus, he very probably did NOT have light hair and eyes but rather dark of both. His cousin, John the Baptist, looks more like what Jesus would have except for the dubious dreadlocks.
Despite all that, I still say pretty good. :Peace2:

They're showing the first two parts here. Not sure about down there. They're coming on at 9 and 10 pm so I am planning on watching them since the kids will be in bed but thought it best to record them just in case. :) I'm excited to see em!

I hope you guys saw the first two hours tonight.  They are doing a beautiful job.  They only had ten hours to work with, so they had to hand pick which stories they would include.

They are working a theme, showing how the whole Bible is written by one hand, how the OT is playing out in the natural what the NT will play out in the spiritual, and from Abraham to Jesus illustrating the children of the promise.  It's one story from start to finish and they are presenting it in a way that people will see that very clearly.

And, Jesus is there--in the OT--with his set-apart people!   I love it!  :banana:

Don't forget that under the "Christian" Bush, most every Christian church in Iraq was bombed during the first Gulf War, including the first-century cathedral in Baghdad.  The end result of two Gulf Wars, and continued military action in that country has been the de-Christianization of Iraq, a country in which Christians had been been a well-tolerated minority, even serving in the government.

A spokeswoman for Israel's Agriculture Ministry, Dafna Yurista, told The Associated Press that planes have gone out to spray pesticides on agricultural fields, to head off damage by a relatively small swarm of 2,000 locusts. Authorities called upon residents to be vigilant in reporting locust sightings.

Photos of the locusts involved in the current outbreak suggest that these particular insects are "old and tired rather than young and hungry," Cressman said. If that's the case, this week's plague "will probably come to nothing," he said.

I was pleasantly surprised The Bible miniseries on the history channel was so good. I saw the first but missed the 2nd  :mfrown:


...and, it stands to reason (imo) if the Spring Holy Days prophesied and were fulfilled by Jesus' first advent, the Fall Holy Days prophesy and will be fulfilled by His long second advent. Trumpets - 10 days later, day of Atonement - 5 days later, Tabernacles

--- Trumpets "immediately after the tribulation of those days.. he will send out His angels to gather His elect"(first resurrection,all believers) - 1000 years later, 2nd resurrection, day of 'judgment'/examination of all history,@close (500 years later) "whosoever doesn't believe,"anybody?not likely - and 500 years later, New Jerusalem, Throne of God, to earth, "God will Tabernacle with man now" upon Earth made new, all enemies defeated, no seas, no death(no dead!)

Sheila, I don't think I've read Bullinger's book, though his book on numbers is excellent.  I do have Raymond Capt's book The Glory of the Stars, and enjoyed it greatly.  I can be bought through this publisher:
